*DATE:* *Monday, August 24th, 2026 (St Bartholomew).*

*TOPIC:* *A KINGDOM LEADER*

*TEXT:* *Luke 22:24-30*
[24]Now there was also a dispute among them, as to which of them should be considered the greatest.
[25]And He said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those who exercise authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’
*[26]But not so among you; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves.*
[27]For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves.
[28]“But you are those who have continued with Me in My trials.
[29]And I bestow upon you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one upon Me,
[30]that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial

*STUDY:*
Jesus redefined greatness and leadership, contradicting worldly standards. As His followers, we belong to a different order-one where true greatness is found in serving others. Jesus, our perfect example, lived among His disciples as one who served.

To live like Christ means putting others before ourselves, not just giving orders but leading in doing the work. Leadership in God's kingdom is about humility, selfless service and love. The higher your position, the higher the demand for you to serve. This is a demand upon our lives as we follow Jesus (Philippians 2:3-5). To have a place at His table, you must follow His examples.

*Food for thought:* True greatness is not about power but having a heart willing to serve with gratitude.

*Prayer:* Heavenly FATHER, help me serve with humility, following the example of our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST: AMEN.

*TOPIC:* *OH, CHRISTIAN SOLDIER*

*TEXT:* *Matthew 10:16-22*
*[16]“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.*
*[17]But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues.*
[18]You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.
[19]But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak;
[20]for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
[21]“Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.
[22]And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.

*STUDY:*
As God's children, we are called to the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18). We have been chosen to seek the lost, unbelieving and bring them back to Christ. We are sent into a world that rejects both Him (Jesus) and us. Jesus gave us a very vital command to be wise, relying totally on the Holy Spirit for guidance.

Paul prayed in Ephesians 1:17 that God would give us "the spirit of wisdom." Our confidence lies in Christ's victory, as He assures us in John 16:33: "In the world, you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

*Food for thought:* Trials should not deter you from proclaiming Jesus.

*Prayer:* Heavenly FATHER, grant me strength and wisdom in trials. Help me to stand firm in our faith without compromise in the NAME of JESUS CHRIST: AMEN AMEN AMEN.

*TOPIC:* *BE HUMBLE!*

*TEXT:* *I Kings 1:1-10*
[1]Now King David was old, advanced in years; and they put covers on him, but he could not get warm.
[2]Therefore his servants said to him, “Let a young woman, a virgin, be sought for our lord the king, and let her stand before the king, and let her care for him; and let her lie in your bosom, that our lord the king may be warm.”
[3]So they sought for a lovely young woman throughout all the territory of Israel, and found Abishag the Shunammite, and brought her to the king.
[4]The young woman was very lovely; and she cared for the king, and served him; but the king did not know her.
*[5]Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, “I will be king”; and he prepared for himself chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.*
[6](And his father had not rebuked him at any time by saying, “Why have you done so?” He was also very good-looking. His mother had borne him after Absalom.)
[7]Then he conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah and with Abiathar the priest, and they followed and helped Adonijah.
[8]But Zadok the priest, Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, Nathan the prophet, Shimei, Rei, and the mighty men who belonged to David were not with Adonijah.
[9]And Adonijah sacrificed sheep and oxen and fattened cattle by the stone of Zoheleth, which is by En Rogel; he also invited all his brothers, the king’s sons, and all the men of Judah, the king’s servants.
[10]But he did not invite Nathan the prophet, Benaiah, the mighty men, or Solomon his brother.

*STUDY:*
Adonijah, an arrogant son of king David sought to seize power, forgetting that only God establishes kings (Daniel 2:20-21). Like the devil deceiving many today, Adonijah convinced others to support his rebellion. True promotion comes from God, not by human schemes.

We must resist deception and stand firm in truth. James 4:7.......Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Adonijah ignored past lessons, he gathered men, made sacrifices, and proclaimed himself king. He demonstrated pride and arrogance forgetting Proverbs 16:18: "Pride goes before destruction."

David, once a mighty ruler, grew old and weak, needing help even to stay warm. This reminds us that life is fleeting, as Ecclesiastes 12:1 says: "Remember your Creator in the days of your youth..." We must choose to live our best days for God.

*Food for thought:* Am I living for God or myself?

*Prayer:* Heavenly FATHER, help us live our best days for YOU. Grant us humility to acknowledge YOU as the ruler of all in JESUS CHRIST NAME: AMEN.

*TOPIC:* *GOD DETEST LAZINESS*

*TEXT:* *II Thessalonians 3:6-13*
[6]But we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which he received from us.
[7]For you yourselves know how you ought to follow us, for we were not disorderly among you;
[8]nor did we eat anyone’s bread free of charge, but worked with labor and toil night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you,
[9]not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves an example of how you should follow us.
*[10]For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.*
*[11]For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies.*
[12]Now those who are such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread.
[13]But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good.

*STUDY:*
As a little child, I loved watching my mum cook for our family. She did this with every sense of care until my sister and I were old enough to take on the task ourselves. If she did not cook, we did not eat. If my parents did not work, how could there have been money to provide for our basic needs of food and shelter.

In the same way, God has given you responsibilities as a child in your home, a student at school and a friend in to other in your circle.

Are you faithful to them or do you stay idle while these responsibilities wait to be done? Idleness is a sin as much as lying, stealing and murder are. It will make you replace your work time with activities that do not benefit you or others. God calls you to diligence. Today, ask Him to help you to be faithful with what He has placed in your hands.

*Food for thought:* 'Laziness casts one into a deep sleep, and an idle person will suffer hunger.' (Proverbs 19:15).

*Prayer:* LORD JESUS, help me to be diligent in all I do in JESUS CHRIST NAME: AMEN.

*TOPIC:* *THE LORD IS YOUR SHEPERD*

*TEXT:* *II Thessalonians 3:1-5*
[1]Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you,
*[2]and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.*
*[3]But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.*
[4]And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, both that you do and will do the things we command you.
[5]Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ. Warning Against Idleness

*STUDY:*
From the beginning, the devil has always been lurking around to stop humanity from fulfilling God's purposes (Gen. 3). Even today, he on the earth sows' seeds of his evil agenda into people who he use it to hinder God's work.

These are people Paul terms 'unreasonable and wicked men' (2 Thess. 3:2).

If you have purposed to live for Christ, you will encounter opposition, but God has already made provision to protect His own from the wickedness of the enemy. As a loving shepherd, Jesus is around you to guard you from evil (Psalms 23:4). His presence surrounds you like a shield, covering you with His wings (Psalms 91:4).

So, when challenges arise, do not be afraid. Stand firm in faith, knowing that God's power is greater than the devil. He is your refuge, protector, your guide. Trust in Him, and He will keep you safe.

*Food for thought:* The Lord is a shield to them that trust in Him (Proverbs 30:5).

*Prayer:* LORD JESUS, I trust in YOU as my good Shepherd, therefore I will not be harmed by the enemy: AMEN.

*TOPIC:* *SIGNS OF THE END TIMES (II)*

*TEXT:* *II Thessalonians 2:8-17*
*[8]And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.*
*[9]The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,*
*[10]and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.*
[11]And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
[12]that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. Stand Fast
[13]But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth,
[14]to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
[15]Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle.
[16]Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace,
[17]comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.

*STUDY:*
You may have often heard of the anti-Christ whose coming is another key sign of the end times. But how do you recognize the anti-Christ? Some say He is a politician, a movement or world system but the Bible describes him as a deceiver, one who opposes Jesus, twists the truth and leads people away from God. He will be known to all, will perform wonders, but not by the Holy Spirit Although this will happen in future, anyone who does the following today operates in the spirit of the anti-christ. This information is not for you to speculate or argue about but to stay discerning.

Not everything that looks supernatural is from God, and popularity does not equal truth. Christ has the ultimate victory over the anti-christ, and those who remain faithful to Him will partake of this victory.

*Food for thought:* Stay alert! Stand firm in the faith (2 Thess. 2:15).

*Prayer:* Dear LORD, I receive discernment to know who truly represents YOU in JESUS CHRIST NAME: AMEN.

✝️📖 Text: 2 Thessalonians 2:1-7

1Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. 3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness[a] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
5 Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? 6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. 7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.

✝️📝The Day of the Lord means different things to different people. For believers in Christ, it will be a great day of deliverance and rejoicing. To the unbelievers, it will be a day of anguish and terrible suffering. While believers who eagerly await this Day wish it should come so soon so that transformation will take place; unbelievers may secretly be wishing it never comes. The truth remains that the Day must come. In verse 3 of our text, Paul warns that nobody should deceive us because that Day will not come unless the falling away first comes (the predicted great falling away of those who have professed to be Christians has come-AMP).
In times like this, what are we expected to be and to do? We must hold firmly to our faith so that we shall not be part of the falling away, no matter when it comes. We must continue in the study of the Word of God and be obedient to its instructions. Again, we must always remain prayerful and depend on the Holy Spirit for direction. With these and determination to make it, we will not be caught unawares.

✝️Prayer: May the Day of the LORD never meet me unprepared in the NAME of JESUS CHRIST: AMEN.

✝️📖:Text: John 17:20-26
do not pray for these alone, but also for those who [a]will believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

24 “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. 26 And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

✝️📝John 1:11 states that Jesus came to His own and His own rejected Him. However, John 1:12 also states that "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name." By this, all believers (including His own, the Jews) were given free and equal access to Jesus. In fact, Jesus' family includes us, the Gentiles. Jesus, as our great High Priest, interceded for all believers. He prayed that all believers should be one (vv. 21-22), despite location or denomination; and that believers may be made perfect in unity and be with Him where He is, etc.

If the desire of Jesus for all believers is fulfilled, the difference will be clear in the Church of God. Today, the struggle for positions, which should unite Christians, despite their denominational backgrounds, is not helping the growth of the Church as we give the devil the inroad into the Church. We as the Church (the body of Christ), must play active roles to achieve this desire of our Master that we be one and united. What are you doing today at the corner you find yourself?

✝️: Prayer: Oh LORD, may I be an instrument through which the Church will be united, in JESUS CHRIST NAME: AMEN.

*THE DAILY DYNAMITE*
Youth Devotional Manual 2026.
(Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion)

*DATE:* *Saturday, August 15th, 2026.*

*TOPIC:* *THE HIGH CALLING OF GOD*

*TEXT:* *II Thessalonians 1:8-12*
[8]in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
[9]These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,
[10]when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed.
*[11]Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power,*
*[12]that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.*

*STUDY:*
Have you ever wondered why you were created? The grand purpose of humanity is to reveal God's glory. This is what Paul frequently described as our 'calling'. God has called all Christians to a life that honours Him (1 Pet. 2:9) through intentions, actions or deeds a life that is worthy of God's calling (Eph. 4:1-3). This calling is not about looking perfect or glorious. God does not choose perfect people, but He equips forgiven men for perfection, He does not call great people, but He equips people to be great!

So, what does this mean for you? God wants to work in and through you. When you submit to Him in trust and obedience, He will make your life reflect his goodness in a unique way that points others to Jesus.

*Food for thought:* How can you submit to God today in your thoughts, actions, or decisions?

*Prayer:* Dear LORD, help me to always submit to YOU in JESUS CHRIST NAME: AMEN.

✝️📖:Text: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

✝️📝Study:- From our text today, Apostle Paul did not want the Thessalonian church to be ignorant of the Second Coming of Jesus in His glory. The word 'rapture' is not explicitly mentioned in the Scripture. The pictorial final position of the saints triumphant and militant described in our text today, clearly represents rapture. This is the taking up of the saints, both dead and alive, to meet the Lord in the cloud as he descends from heaven with a shout, the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God.

This is a great comfort to all believers, especially when we lose a dear one in Christ and undergo all kinds of challenges. We know that one day, we will be together again in God's glorious kingdom. As a faithful bride, let us be encouraged with this fact that a pay day is coming in which our Lord will reward us greatly for all our labour of love (1 Cor. 15:58). We shall ever be with Him, and this should be our consolation in this world.

✝️: Prayer: FATHER, may I be prepared and alert in the spirit always as I wait for YOUR coming in glory in JESUS CHRIST NAME AMEN. May I not be caught unaware in JESUS CHRIST NAME: AMEN.
