Juwon Obaniyi Chairman Oaks Foundation, giving his speech at the 2018 Oaks Foundation Endowment Award.
Good evening everyone, it is our great pleasure to be here tonight as we are so glad that the decision we took some years back while graduating from this fellowship has grown to become a reality thereby promoting academic excellence in local communities.
We must also say that the testimonials we received after our maiden edition in 2016 were impressive and encouraging to keep us moving.
Our vision at OAKS Foundation is simple:
We seek to promote the right balance of Academic pursuit with Christian activities in the local communities by encouraging everyone that achieves excellence in his or her academic pursuit against the distractions and tons of demands of the school environment.
As we believe that Nigeria Christian youths have what it takes to excel academically and spiritually by becoming the models of our communities when they properly work towards it.
Just like the saying "don't despise the days of your little beginning" is likened to youths, we at Oaks Foundation are proud of our little beginning as well. As we are steadily growing and we believe that one day we will extend to all tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
Nelson Mandela once said, “After climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb.”
Therefore, as an ending note, we will like to encourage the duo that will come out as 2018 acorns to brace up for there is more greatness before them.
Also to encourage other applicants that irrespective of the acorn announcement, your success is not determined by the outcome of this event. In fact, with your motivation and consistency in doing what you believe in, there is no limit to what you can achieve in life.
Finally, Well-deserved thanks to Dr Haruna Opaluwa for believing and standing by us through his moral and financial supports ever since our inception.
To our partners who share the same vision with us: Mr Obaniyi John, Dr Astor Abuh, Mr Adika Sunday King and the Meebol.com
And to my fellow Oaks Foundation Members (Prince Fortune ForBaba Ogala, Marvelous Nifemi, Olowo John Ayanfe and Barr Christian Obafemi) who never forget about this commitment to impact lives positively irrespective of the demands out there.
I say a big thank you to you all.
Let's all remember that we all can make a difference. Our little can make a difference. Why don’t you start helping someone today?
God bless OAKS Foundation
God bless FSFKSU
God bless Kogi State
God bless Nigeria.
Thanks.
Oluwajuwon Obaniyi
Oaks Foundation Chairman.
