2025 Ukwa Diocesan Choral Competition kicked off on Saturday August 16 at St. Peter, Obohia-Ndoki.
This event featured the Women and Children Choirs.
Members of the Diocesan Music Board, Clergy and faithful of the Diocese were in attendance.
Many thanks to His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Manasses C. Okere, PhD., (JP), Bishop of Ukwa for his continued support.
Thanks to the Director -General of Music, Okey Uche (KSC) , the Chaplain, Rev'd Canon Onyeukwu and all Music Board members for their efforts.
Thanks to the sole sponsor of the competition, Sir Sydney Ekeoma Stanley.
Highlights were presentation of trophies and cash awards.
Competition Results:
- Children's Choir:
- 1st Position: St. Mark's Church, Oyigbo (Average Score: 78.495)
- 2nd Position: Holy Trinity Church, Owaza (Average Score: 66.995)
- Women's Choir:
- 1st Position: Cathedral Church of Christ, Akwete (Average Score: 79.16)
- 2nd Position: St. Mark's Church, Oyigbo (Average Score: 79.00)
- 3rd Position: Holy Trinity Church, Owaza (Average Score: 74.83)
After the competition, the Women of St. Peter's Church, Obohia-Ndoki, warmly welcomed the participants with melodious songs.
