Story of a great personalities!
LGA CHIARMANship and COUNCILLORship election they say has come and gone but its wave to those that contested can't be easily forgotten. Those that won probably are in the right course while those that fail learn to move on hoping to put up a good fight some other time.
I guess this was the first election that I saw with my resounding cognitive reasoning though I have heard when the first Akwaeze indigene was the chiarman of Anaocha LGA - Chief Ifenna Ikegwuonu (Ife Akwaeze). The next chiarmanship I can recall very well also was Engr. Ikeobi Ejiofor from Obeledu town. Others had been appointment upon appointment as Transitional Chairman (TC) they call it.
September 2024 has recorded in history a democratic election for the post of Chiarman LGA and Councillors of town wards.
Akwaeze town was in the ballot for chiarman Anaocha LGA when Hon. Sopuru Mbonu (Igwe Enyikwunazu of CYON St. Michael's Akwaeze) and C.E.O Sotexco Paints from Umuideke village Akwaeze picked nomination form to contest for the post. Indeed I was marvelled by this young man courage and zeal for politicking.
The COUNCILLORship candidate for Akwaeze ward was a personality I and other Akwaeze blood are familiar with - Hon. Izuchukwu Udemba from Mgbuwa village Akwaeze. Though COUNCILLORship mandate in the town Akwaeze is on a rotational basis for all the six villages (Umuezeani, Umuideke, Uruonyili, Uruolu, Umutu and Mgbuwa). Mgbuwa village nominated a candidate with great antecedents and servant to all.
I am indeed happy on the outcome of the election in Akwaeze, Anaocha LGA and the entire state because it now means that one called up to serve will spent 4 years which he or she must be accounted for.
The mantle of chairman Anaocha LGA has been taken by Comrade Rome Ibekwe (Ezeugo Neni) - a humble servant per excellence and a great ambassador of goodwill.
Congratulations to these leaders!!!
Congratulations also to a brother and friend Hon. Izuchukwu Onuorah (Roger) who won the COUNCILLORship election for Adazi-Nnukwu ward 2. He was then the president of CYON St. Andrew's Catholic Church Adazi-Nnukwu when I was the president CYON St Michael's Catholic Church Akwaeze. A politician with B.Sc in Political Science. Roger nwoke I know u will deliver your mandate with greatness personified.
I am please to say that Akwaeze is in safe hand!
Anaocha LGA is also in safe hand
Anambra State indeed is in safe hand
