*CALL ON JESUS*
For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
_Romans 10:13_

Different people try several things when they are faced with intimidating or life-treathening challenges. Difficult situations bring out what a person contains. If one is full of faith in Christ, there is a high probability that one will call on Jesus. The reverse is bound to be the case for those who are not yet saved.

Who you call upon on the day of adversity will determine the result you will get. As a believer in Christ, ensure that your service in the Kingdom and your daily conduct qualify you for a quick response from Heaven when you call in the days of trouble. Not all men can command the attention of Heaven. You cannot deny God in your closet and then ask for His help when you stand face to face with terrifying situations.

A brother, along with hundreds of other passengers, came face to face with death on an airport tarmac as their plane taxied down the runway. Another plane was about to crash into theirs, and shouts of fear erupted. Within a few seconds, in the midst of so much pandemonium, this brother shouted loudly, 'Jesus!'. In response to his call, two angels entered the plane, carried him out, placed him gently in a safe place, and left. Only the brother survived.

In our opening passage, the Bible says emphatically that those who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Do you know the Lord? Does He know you? The voices of the people that do not know the Lord sound strange when they call on Him in times of trouble. Your closeness to Jesus does not depend on your title, position in life, status, riches, or anything else. Everything depends on your attitude to His written Word. Examine your stand in the Lord and do the needful. The examination of life has no timetable. You cannot tell when the day of adversity will come and the only One that can save you is the Master Himself- Jesus Christ. Are you passing through any challenge right now? Call upon Jesus! Nothing is beyond Him. Don't wait until things become worse. He is waiting to help you. He is not far from you. He is just a call away. Call on Him right now.

*OBEY HIM AT ALL COSTS*
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.
_1 Corinthians 1:27_

Did you know that the reason many believers miss the promptings of the Lord is that they expect what He says to meet their standards? To then, before it can be from the Lord, it must first sound humanly reasonable and workable. This does not have to be so. Our opening passage says that God chooses the foolish things to confound the wise.

When you realise that His ways are not your ways, it will become easier for you to understand His ways of doing things. This will strengthen your efforts towards obeying Him, especially when you feel that He is prompting you to take action.

A Christian brother who was driving through a lonesome path suddenly heard the Lord asking him to stop, step out of his car, and start to pray in tongues very loudly. At first, it felt very odd for him to do so in such a place. He obeyed as instructed and something shocking happened. A man heard him somewhere in the bush and abandoned his attempt to commit su***de. It turned out that the man heard this Christian brother in his own language, telling him not to give up on life.

Get to know how the Lord communicates with you and be in readiness at all times to obey Him. Start with your Bible. Do what It says. You may not know why the Lord is leading you to do some things, pray, and obey Him all the same. Remember that He is wiser than any man can ever be. Don't attempt to rationalise what the Lord says. He alone knows what to do to bring to pass what He says.

Do what the Lord asks you to do and do it promptly. Any act of delay may be too costly. If the brother in our story had delayed in obeying the promptings or neglecting it all together because it did not make sense to him, someone would have died and gone to hell forever. Obey every prompting of the Lord and do it at all costs.

*SOWING AND REAPING*
While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
_Genesis 8:22_

Our opening verse reveals a very important principle that is timeless and powerful. There are daily opportunities for believers to sow what they expect to reap in life. This point is further reinforced by Galatians 6:7, which says, 'Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.' Whatever we want to see God do in our lives is what we should sow. Trust the Lord to bless you however He wants to.

Just as no farmer expects to reap what he did not plant, it is wrong to expect a harvest of what you have not planted. Every tree produces the likeness of its own seed. If you invest mercy in other people's lives, you will surely reap mercy. Yes! It is mercy for mercy; blessing for blessing; wickedness for wickedness. Each seed produces after its kind. Do what God commands and leave the consequences of your obedience to Him. Most times, we don't reap where we sow, but we always reap what we sow.

A Christian brother shared a testimony about how he used to share whatever he had whenever the brethren around him needed help, especially in the area of food. He never hesitated to help others with whatever he had. Today, the Lord has been so good to Him. He continually enjoys constant supplies from people even when he does not ask them for help in any way. The Lord ensures that his needs are always met.

Just like this brother in our story, the Lord is faithful in rewarding His children with the harvest of what they sow into other people's lives. Do you know anyone who needs a job? Show him or her some concern. Start with prayer. Do it with all sincerity. It was on the day that the books of records were opened and read to King Ahasuerus that what Mordecai did was remembered (Esther 6:1). When the records are opened in heaven concerning you, what will be remembered? Look around you today for someone to bless. In due season, you will reap the harvest.

*DON'T GIVE UP*
Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
_Luke 18:1 NIV_

The Bible urges believers to pray for one another in James 5:16. This means that praying for others is a huge blessing to us. Did you know that your prayer life affects the quality of your life generally? Whenever you pray, you are telling God that you rely on Him, and this is beautiful in His sight because He loves to see His children depend on Him.

The Lord is the strength of our lives. This means that He is in charge of our lives. He is worthy of our trust. One of the ways to stay off the domain of satan is to tell the Lord about your every move. Whatever you cannot pray about should not be welcomed by you. For instance, no child of God who truly knows the Word of God can ask Him to go ahead of him or her to a nightclub or to places where nefarious activities go on. No follower of Jesus can seek His face in order to find out how to tell a lie or the best way to steal. If you truly pray, you will be safe. No situation in your life should hinder you from praying for the well-being of others.

A sister realised that praying for people keeps her fruitful for the Lord. She also observed that the people she prays for just love her without knowing why. A particular man who used to be very aggressive towards the ministers of the Gospel began to love her ministrations without knowing that she had been praying for his salvation.

Stop struggling in life. Pray for people and see what the Lord will do in your life and theirs. Remember that Jesus says that God will give you open rewards for your secret acts of faith. Praying the Will of God into the lives of people will bless you in tremendous ways. Don't accuse people before God. That is satan's work. Give thanks to God for the good things you see in the lives of those around you. Your prayer will change you, your boss, colleagues, employees, neighbours, siblings, spouse, children and anyone else. No human being can resist the power of the love-powered prayer of a child of God. Pray! Don't give up.

One of the greatest things a Christian can do for an unbeliever is to invite him or her to church to hear the Word of God. The moment that person hears the Truth, something takes place in his or her life. A seed of the Word of God is sown in the heart of a person who listens to a message even if he or she refuses to accept Christ.

So many believers get discouraged when the unbelievers they are making attempts to win into the Kingdom refuse to yield. This shouldn't be. The most important thing is that they are given access to the Word. With regular watering, the seed in them will sprout forth no matter how long it may take.

Did you know that the seeds of plants can still grow after a long period of time? For example, beans and peas can still grow after 10 years of being kept. How much more the seed of the Word of God that never dies.

An 8 year old boy loved the Lord when he went with his grandmother to church. At a time in life, he stopped going to church and began to live like an unbeliever for many years. But because he was being prayed for by people, especially his wife, he had an encounter with the Lord and went on to become a world-renowned evangelist who was greatly anointed.

Don't give up on men who seem to be far from the path of Life. Invite them to church. In fact, make it a lifestyle to always go to church with people who need Jesus. Once they hear the message of salvation, start praying that the Seed will grow in them and produce fruit. Continue until you see the evidence of transformation in their lives. Jesus did not give up on you. Don't give up on anyone. Get people to hear the Gospel and keep watering the Seed with prayer.

*DON'T SHUT THE DOOR*
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

The reason Jesus sacrificed His life on the Cross was to offer the gift of salvation to as many as will believe in Him. He did not die for a particular set of people. All have sinned, so Jesus died for all. The salvation Jesus gives is for all who will believe. For this reason, all believers in Christ must ensure that this Good News gets to all the living.

No Christian should stop an unbeliever from having access to fellowship with Christ. Preventing people from hearing the Gospel carries grave consequences that will echo in eternity. For humanity, it is either salvation or eternal damnation. Everything depends on the choice one makes concerning Christ.

A long time ago, a man was stopped by some Christians from entering a church because of his appearance. He went away and never went back there. In fact, he never attempted to go to church again. Afterwards, he embraced a strange teaching and became a religious and political leader. He influenced millions of people against Christ. Even though he died decades ago, his adherents still live by his philosophies. Because of that singular act of those Christians, the Kingdom of God lost that soul and many others. Today, millions of souls are still being lost. Jesus is calling all.

Whenever an unbeliever is prevented from having access to the church or wherever the Word of God is being taught, Jesus is deprived of the benefits of His sacrifice on the Cross. So, before you send people away from God's House, remember that you did not shed your blood for their sins, Jesus did.

Don't shut the door of salvation against others through tribal sentiments, social status, gossip, back bitting, unforgiveness, hatred, malice or any other thing. The main benefit of Christ's sacrifice is souls. Don't deprive Him of this benefit.

*STOP LIMITING GOD*
With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
_Matthew 19:26_

The Almighty God is beyond measure when it comes to His abilities. He is not only unlimited in resources, He is beyond human comprehension. Until you realise the truth of His greatness, you will not be able to believe the things He says in His Word. In Jeremiah 27:32, the Almighty asks an all-important question concerning His divine ability: 'I am the God of all flesh. Is there anything too difficult for me to do?'

There is absolutely nothing that God cannot do. This is the reason why you must do whatever His Words says to do. Never allow your human reasoning to judge His ability to do what He says He will do. Your 'hard disk' (brain) will crash if you try to download all that God is.

Many believers fail in doing the things that the Lord asks them to do because they cannot fathom how those things will be possible. You need to know that whatever God demands that you do is usually beyond your capacity as a human being.

A certain preacher had an experience that we should learn from. He was fond of looking at his resources and getting discouraged whenever the Lord asked him to carry out an assignment. One day, the Lord told him that he (the preacher) was limiting Him (God) by his mindset on the issue concerning his finances. The Lord said to him, 'Never evaluate what I tell you to do by the resources you have.' This encounter corrected the brother from that day.

The Lord always figures out the way His work will be done before committing it into the hands of His children. Ephesians 3:20 says that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. The almighty is unlimited in every way. God's power surpasses every obstacle. No matter your case, trust Him, and you will see His Word coming to pass in your life as you obey Him.

*ONE DAY AT A TIME*
So do not worry about tomorrow; it will have enough worries of its own. There is no need to add to the troubles each day brings.

When God almighty fed Isreal with manna in the wilderness, He fed them one day at a time. The manna was given daily, not weekly or monthly. The reason was that God wanted them to rely totally upon Him. This is still what He wants. Jesus tells us to pray, 'Give us this day our daily bread'. Daily supplies from Heaven keep us focused on God. Do not let anything you have affect your dependence on God. We need God more than the things He gives.

The rich fool in Luke 12: 13-21 focused on the things he had and forgot about God. He thought he had gotten everything he needed, but he did not live to enjoy his riches. No wonder Solomon prayed, 'If I have too much to eat, I might forget about you...(Proverbs 30:9). Is it not possible that many will stop going to church if God supplies all their needs at once? Don't worry about tomorrow. God will take care of things. No challenge in your life can withstand your daily walk with Jesus. Put your future in the hands of the One Who is ever faithful.

The key to your victory in life is God's grace. Be thankful for the things He gives you daily. No matter what the economy says, God will never fail to provide for His children. He is the best Father. If men who are evil know how to care for their children, how much more will our heavenly Father take care of us. God will take care of you, no matter what your needs are. Trust Him and live one day at a time. According to David Fincher, a 150-day movie is shot one day at a time. Please God daily and your mountains will become molehills.

Something happened many years ago in the family of a minister of the Gospel. The experience of that household makes it very clear that our God wants us to depend on Him every day. The man of God and his family did not have much food. When they prayed to the Lord, He told the mother of the house to keep fetching soup from the pot without looking into it. She obeyed the Lord and soup did not finish in the pot. But, one day, she decided to see what was left in the pot and the supply ceased. Obedience to God's Word will keep the flow of His provision on. Your daily walk with the Lord is what will keep you strong.

Our Father does not want us to be anxious for anything. As long as we obey His written Word, we will live victoriously. His faithfulness is greater than we can ever know, and His compassion is everlasting. Put your hope in Him. His loving kindness begins afresh every morning.

*ASK HIM*
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
_Matthew 7:7 NIV_

Did you know that you can ask the Lord questions and receive answers from Him? Many believers read our verse for today and limit it to praying for physical things alone. You can also ask for information and direction. You can ask the Lord to show you what He wants you to do for Him and for humanity. Because our Lord is omniscient, there is nothing you need to know that He cannot tell you. Jesus says that the Holy Ghost will teach us all things (John 14:26).

Many students who have a relationship with Jesus ask for His guidance when they study for examinations. The Holy Spirit understands all subjects better than all men. No teacher or lecturer knows more than the Lord in any field. Ask Him questions. The Holy Ghost knows what you should stop or start doing. He is wisdom personified. Talk to Him about your issues and ask Him questions. He knows how bad habits and addictions can be broken.

Do you know anyone who has a health issue? Ask the Lord to teach you how to help the person. He knows the best diet for a sick person and the right doctor. Also, the Lord knows how you should relate with the people in your life for a healthy relationship. Jesus knows what you should say to a sinner that will make him or her repent. He also knows what will bring you financial peace and marital settlement. There is nothing that is a challenge to the living Christ.

A brother had an issue with his leg, which defied every treatment that doctors gave him. At a point, it looked like he would have to live with the problem for the rest of his life. When he realised that doctors could not help him, any more, he asked the Lord to tell him what to do. He did. Immediately that dear brother did what the Lord said, the issue gradually disappeared.

Ask Jesus questions. He is ready, always ready to talk with whoever wants to hear Him talk. We suffer in vain when we try to get everything done on our own. There are things that only God can do, and there are also things only He knows. Start today to ask God questions. When you do, wait on Him for the answers. He will never disappoint you. You will receive whatever you ask for.

1. Praise God for the gift of another day and for how far He has brought you.
2. Ask Him to give you insatiable hunger for His Word. Pray for the revival of righteousness in your country.
3. Ask the Lord to tell you the things you need to know. Ask Him specific questions.
4. Pray for His manifest presence in the lives of widows, widowers, orphans, the fatherless and motherless, and the elderly ones who trust in Him.
5. Pray for divine health, protection and provision for missionaries. Talk to the Lord about your needs and ask Him to fill Jerusalem with His peace. Give Him praise.

*THE KEY TO DELIVERANCE*
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

To succeed as a Christian in this present world, you must stand firm and strong against sin and satan. This is the time for active faith. There is no victory without a fight. Winners are those who have defeated something or someone. Because we have a stubborn enemy, we must be steadfast at resisting him.

Samson killed one thousand Philistines with the jawbone of an ass (Judges 15:15-16). He fought with the whole of his strength. This is the key to deliverance. Be bold and strong against the enemy. It does not matter what the enemy is. Face it and fight it and God will give you victory. Lay hold of the the right verse and fight whatever is hindering your advancement be it ma********on, po*******hy, fear, sickness, barrenness, or any stubborn issue. Get on the offensive. Don't give up.

Enough has to be enough in your life. Refuse to be stagnant. Don't settle for 'rise and fall' Christianity. You've got to be steadfast. No one can keep doing the same thing and have a different result. To make progress as a believer, you must arise and resist the enemy until he bows.

A dear sister noticed that her son was developing interest in a bad group in their neighbourhood. She immediately started praying for him. But, as time went on, he started walking and talking like the bad boys he saw around. He even began to say that some of the ungodly things those boys were doing were not bad. When it got to that, the sister knew that she needed to fight harder on her knees. She realised that she must add fire to her prayers, so she arose like Esther and began a fast. Because she meant to win, she told the Lord that she would not stop the fast until He changed her son. After a long period of prayer and fasting, the Lord gave her victory.

You are more than a conqueror. You cannot lose any battle. You can get out of debt. You can get that dear fellow saved. You can live in perfect health. You can achieve your goals. Stop waiting for more faith. Use the measure you already have. Stop procrastinating. Satan, our enemy, does not. If Samson did not wait for a perfect weapon, why should you keep watching the devil beat you with many stripes when you are decked up with the whole armour of God? Spiritual advancement is about progress not perfection. God knows your weaknesses. Move and keep moving! The enemy will not willingly stop fighting against you until you put him where he belongs.
