*THE POWER OF WORDS (1)*
The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
_Proverbs 12:18 NIV_

You must understand that you are responsible for whatever happens between you and the Word of God. This is a serious issue but many do not pay good attention to it. You have a copy of the Bible, don't you? God has made His Will available to all. It is your duty to know It and obey It. Men must take responsibility when it comes to God's Word. Live by the Truth you know, and more will come to you.

Don't let the words of men affect you more than God's Word. Pay no attention to the baseless curses of men. Focus on the blessings of God. From Genesis to Revelation, all God has for you are blessings. No one who reads the Bible daily can be depressed.

Did you know that some of God’s precious children have left the Faith because of what someone said to them? In society, there are people who have become 'mini devils' as a result of the words of men. No! Nothing should shape our lives, but God's Word. The negative words of men are hurting, but they must not be allowed to germinate and grow in our lives.

A long time ago, in a church, an altar boy dropped the communion w**e by accident, and the officiating priest gave him a slap and commanded him to leave and never return. The boy left the church and stayed out for life, and later became a heartless dictator. That former altar boy ruled the people of Yugoslavia with an iron hand for many years. He was known as General Tito.

What are the words you are speaking to people? Is your life being controlled by the words of men? God must always have the final say in your life. The Bible must be the only truth you will accept totally. Throw off every word that does not agree with the written Word of God. Make up your mind to be the person God has called you to be no matter what men say to you. May your words bring healing, deliverance, encouragement, and comfort to people.

1. Worship God for His Word that is available to all. Thank Him because today, through this message, deliverance will get to many. Repent of every wrong word you have spoken to people.
2. Ask the Lord to open your understanding to the truth. Pray for the revival of the prosperity of God’s Word among Christians all over the world.
3. Reject every negative emotion that you have embraced because of what people said to you. Ask the Lord to restore His people who have left His Family because of what people said to them.
4. Pray for emotional healing for missionaries and their families, widows, widowers, orphans, single parents, fatherless and motherless ones, and elderly people.
5. Talk to the Lord about your personal needs. Pray for the leaders of your country and for the peace of Jerusalem. Give God praise for the answers to your prayers.

Wednesday, 23rd September

*IT WILL ALWAYS BE WELL*
Tell the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their deeds.
_Isaiah 3:10 ESV_

It will always be well with those who are godly. No matter what men think and say, those who fear the Lord are blessed. As a child of God, you do not need to worry about anything. When it looks like you have nothing great happening in your life, relax in faith. It shall be well with you. Never think that any unbeliever is better than you. It is a lie from the pit of hell.

No sinner, no matter how well off he or she appears to be, is more blessed than a faithful child of God. Money and human connections can get one almost everything in this world, but God's approval is only given by God Himself. Nothing can give a man the citizenship of Heaven except the Blood of Jesus.

This is why you need to trust God and His written Word. When He does not answer your prayers the ways you want, be thankful to Him. The reason is that He knows what is best for you. Our Father sees the past, the present, and the future at the same time and He is always working in all things for the good of His children.

A certain brother who did His best to obey and serve the Lord got a visa and divine sponsorship to study overseas. It was a mega miracle because his family was generationally poor. After he left his country, he was arrested by the police in the country where he had a stop over. At first, no one told him what he did wrong. He prayed with tears, asking the Lord to help him, but no help came and he missed the flight. It was hours later that he was released with an apology because he was mistaken for a wanted person. What happened next proved the faithfulness of God. The plane on which the brother would have travelled crashed.

When God does not answer your prayers the ways you desire, He may be protecting you from things you may never know in this life. This is one of the reasons why we will praise God in Heaven forever. Then, His goodness and greatness will be clear to us. We will see that when He said NO or WAIT, He was watching over us. Rejoice always. God sees you and loves you as an individual. Don't compare your journey in life with anyone else's. All shall be well with you.

*THE GOLDEN REPLY*
It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak.
_2 Corinthians 4:13_

The challenges of life come to question the faith of the believer. Without a fight and a personal victory, the enemy disregards anyone who claims to be a child of God. You must be ever-ready to enforce the victory Jesus has given you whenever the enemy comes against you. Don't be afraid because you've been made more than a conqueror in Christ. Boldly speak what you believe no matter who thinks you are weird.

Jesus should be your confidence in life. Rejoice in Him always. The Lord went about doing good every day. Nothing could steal His enthusiasm. No matter the storm that rises around you, remember that Jesus is the Prince of Peace and call His name in faith. The joy of the Lord will change your story for good. Don't allow anything to stop you from praying and singing. You need enthusiasm to win and keep winning in life.

Life is exciting with Jesus. See every challenge as an opportunity to demonstrate your faith. How do you think Peter and John felt when they were arrested, beaten, and locked up? What do you think their reactions were when the Lord suddenly interrupted their prayer and praises and broke them out of prison? When they shared their testimony with the other disciples, do you think they laughed and praised the Lord? Yes! They must have had fire in their eyes and voices when they talked about how the Holy Ghost did the unthinkable. Hallelujah!

A certain young man who was a taxi driver was full of sadness and bitterness because he felt that his country had failed him. He could not get a job as a graduate, so he drove a taxi. One day, he met a man who was full of enthusiasm and became disgusted at the man. As far as the frustrated taxi driver was concerned, there was nothing to be enthusiastic about in his country. But, at a point, he asked the joyful man the question: Where did you get all this enthusiasm, sir? The man's response was the utterance of the two greatest words in time and eternity: 'Jesus Christ.'

Do you have Jesus Christ the Saviour of the world? If you do, no situation, economy, challenge, or condition should bow your head. Frustration depression and discouragement bow at the name of Jesus. The young taxi driver's story changed for good after his conversation with an enthusiastic Christian. May you live your life with the consistent display of the joy of the Lord.

Monday, 21st September

*THE UNTOUCHABLE ONES*
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
_1John 4:4 NIV_

Jesus lives in you if you have asked Him into your heart. As long as you live in obedience to His written Word, you will be untouchable. The enemy may come as close as he wants, but he cannot harm you. God has declared you untouchable in Christ. You are more special than you can ever know.

Did you know that if the enemy had his way, all believers in Jesus would suffer terribly? Only God knows all the invisible forces from which He daily protects His people. Every day you go out of your home, you move among all kinds of unseen wicked forces, but God forbids them from harming you. Praise Him for this.

A certain lady became a committed Christian after Jesus saved her. Before her salvation, she was a high witch who lured boys and girls into occult practices. According to her, getting the children to do what her group wanted was easy. But, there were children that she could not initiate into the occult no matter how hard she tried. Those were the children whose parents protected by praying over them in Jesus's powerful and glorious name. Glory be to God.

Praying parents who know how to stand upon the merits of the Blood of Jesus protect their children from the devil and his agents. The days are evil. Never think that life is a matter of chance. The devil and his agents are on a well calculated mission to destroy humanity. But, glory be to Jesus who, by His death and resurrection, destroyed all the works of the devil. As a believer in Christ, enforce the victory He has given you in every area of your life and family.

Pray because prayer is powerful. As you read your Bible and do your best to obey It, the power of God will come upon you and keep increasing. Pray for your family. Pray about your finances. Pray over everything and about everything. Jesus prayed and was able to overcome all human challenges, including death. When you live in obedience to God's Word and pray earnestly, you will never lack the confidence that all will be well with you and your family. Don't be afraid of the things that unbelievers fear. Jesus is praying for you. In Him, you are untouchable.

*A QUESTION ALL MUST ASK*
For when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, since I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!
_1 Corinthians 9:16 NIV_

Jesus's greatest desire is the salvation of souls. He came into the world to seek and to save the lost. This is why soul winning is the greatest duty of the redeemed. 'Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation', Jesus says. If Jesus were on earth today, what do you think His plans for today and every day would be?

The Lord would go about preaching, teaching, and healing if he were here on earth. None of the excuses believers make today for not winning souls and making disciples would stop Him. If the Pharisees, Saducees, teachers of the law, and the Roman soldiers could not stop Jesus then, don't let anything or anyone stop Him now that He lives in you.

Look around in society and see that many people are living without Christ. How do you feel about this? The Christ in you is not happy that many are hell-bound. Do something because if you don't, many will suffer forever. Eternal death is worse than poverty. It is more terrible than cancer and all pandemics. Men who are in excruciating pains because of an illness stay calm after they have breathed their last. People, including doctors and nurses, say that such people go to rest. But, that is only true if Jesus is their Lord. In hell, the pain is everlasting. No one dies in hell. All stay alive to suffer in ways beyond description.

What are you doing to help humanity beyond this life? William Carey is called the father of modern missions. But he faced serious challenges to get to India. A group of ministers said to him as he was planning to leave for India, 'If God wants to save the heathen, young man, He will do it without your help or ours.' But, nothing those people said could discourage William because in him was the glowing question: 'Who will teach the lost in India if I don't go?

This is the question for us today. Who will reach the lost on the streets if we don't? Please answer the question sincerely - Who will if you don't? God has no other means of building His glorious family except through His Son Jesus Christ. Time is fast running out. This is why, 'Who will reach the lost souls around me?' is the question all must ask.

1. Give thanks to God for His willingness to save the lost and for His patience with humanity.
2. Pray for the mercy of God if you have not been intentional about going after the lost and winning them to Christ.
3. Ask the Lord to open the eyes of the unsaved people in your family and neighbourhood. Pray about your desires.
4. Pray that the Word of God will prevail in your country and that missionaries will receive divine protection, provision, strength, and encouragement today.
5. Ask the Lord to strengthen widows, widowers, orphans, and the fatherless so that they will serve Him without distractions. Pray for the manifest presence of God among His people everywhere. Give thanks to God.

*NO DISTANCE*
For His eyes are upon the ways of a man, and He sees all his steps
_Job 34:21_

The Earth is vast and complex. But not to God. As massive as this world seems to humans, the Bible in Isaiah 40:15 says that the nations of the world put together are like a drop of water in a bucket before God. By this, we are made to know that all human nations and earthly powers are completely insignificant and powerless when compared to the infinite greatness and supreme authority of God.

Why then do people not run to the Creator of all things when they hit a dead end? Why do men seek help from powers that did not create the heavens and the Earth? It is because the devil has lied to them that God cannot handle their cases. So, they, in turn, see their challenges as too big for God to handle. This is far from the truth.

Many people even think their location on Earth puts them at a disadvantage when it comes to receiving the touch of God. God is everywhere. Our verse for today says His eyes are upon the ways of a man, and He sees all his steps. Nothing is hidden from Him.

A woman in her own home was watching a live church vigil on her phone when the Lord led the preacher to mention her case, and he addressed her through the camera. This must have sounded hilarious to some people at that vigil. The woman left her home, headed for the church, and the Lord delivered her from her challenge. Hallelujah!

Dear reader, the Lord sees you as you are reading this devotional, and He knows even more than what you are passing through. He is closer to you than you can ever imagine. Believe His Word (the Bible). Call on Him. Relax in Him. He is able to settle all things, including yours. There is no distance in the Spirit. What God is doing for people right now in different places on Earth, He is willing to do for you, too.

The above verse is for every believer in Christ. It is for you. Don't ever say that there are things you cannot do even if you try. Who says you can't when God’s written and settled Word says you can? You can do all things through Christ Who strengthens you. The strength is His, but the willingness is yours.

Did you know that some of God’s children believe and confess that they cannot be ministers of the Gospel? As far as they are concerned, they do not have what it takes to lead God’s people. It is okay if you believe that the Lord has not called you into ministry, but the truth is that every believer is a minister. God has called everyone who has made Jesus the Lord of their lives to do something specific for Him on earth.

You can do all things through Jesus Who gives you strength. You can overcome that habit. You can win that competition. You can overcome that situation. You can pay off that debt. You can forgive that fellow. You can advance in life. You can live above sin. You can recover what you have lost. You can. You can. You can in Christ. Remove the 'not' that you have attached to 'can' in any area of your life.

A writer tells a fantastic story in one of his highly inspiring books. According to him, in his school days, he had a teacher who believed that nothing was impossible to the one who truly meant to succeed. That dear teacher would always write the word CAN'T on the chalkboard and then ask the students to tell him what the class would do with the word. All the students would reply, 'Knock the T off the can't'. The teacher would gladly take the T off and tell the students that 'they could if they believed they could.'

You, dear reader, can achieve whatever you trust the Lord to help you achieve. God loads us with daily benefits. You are not ordinary. You can rise again if you have fallen. A fall does not mean failure. It is the proof that you are moving. All the promises of our God are yes and amen in Christ. Is there anything you have said that you cannot do because you think you are too weak? Don't believe yourself. Believe God’s Word. You can. Remove the not.

*STAND STRONG*
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
_Romans 8:37_

Don't ever accept defeat on any issue. The almighty God has called you the winner in every battle you face in life. This is why you must never give up before your challenges do. There is nothing that is against the Word of God that does not have an expiry date. Nothing has the power to resist your prayer forever. Keep praying God's Word. Remember that God has made you His righteousness in Christ. Your faith is your victory. Don't ever let it fail.

Don't fix your eyes on time. You may be discouraged if you do. Don't think about the experiences of men. Those who didn't get what they wanted might have given up too soon. Only God knows all things. Fix your heart on Him. Protect your faith by feeding on the Word of God.

A dear brother whom the Lord was using greatly in deliverance experienced something one day that taught him a very important lesson. He was praying for a girl who had a demon, but nothing happened for a long time. Because the brother was very sure that an unclean spirit was in that dear girl, he prayed on, asking the Lord to take charge. After a long time, the evil spirit spoke, saying that it could no longer pretend that the fire of the Lord was not burning it. Afterwards, it obeyed the brother and went out of the girl.

There is no problem so strong that God's Word cannot break it. Have you been praying about any issue and it looks like nothing is happening? Stand strong in faith. Take it that it is only pretending to be a hard nut to crack. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. Whatever is saying otherwise is of satan. Great is our immortal Redeemer. All will be well. Stand strong.

*IT WON'T WORK*
But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the LORD; their vindication will come from me. I, the LORD, have spoken!
_Isaiah 54:17 NLT_

Don't waste your time and energy thinking or talking about what the wicked can do. God has spoken in the above verse. Anyone who thinks that he or she can harm a child of God will not succeed. God is watching over His children. There is great safety in the name of the Lord. Our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ did not go about asking questions to know what men were planning against Him.Whatever Herod had in mind did not bother Him. He concentrated fully on doing the will of the Father.

As a child of God, focus on pleasing Him and leave everything else in His hands. Those who truly trust God fear neither the enemy nor wicked men. Put all your energy into reading your Bible and doing what It says. Those believers who want to know everything satan is doing against them are wasting their time. Our Father never sleeps, so we are safe in His hands.

A sister noticed that some people at her workplace did not like her at all. As far as they were concerned, there was nothing special about her. She did her best to maintain peace with them, but they still did not treat her like a friend. Instead of wasting precious time trying to please them, the sister concentrated on serving the Lord and praying for those people. When they would not repent, God turned them against each other. The sister did not know what happened until much later. All she saw was that one of them began to draw closer to her.

God will fight for you. Keep your hands clean. All those who secretly plan the downfall of the children of God are wasting their time. You are safe in Jesus. You will not be put to shame. All shall be well with you. Apostle Paul kept on serving the Lord in spite of the oppositions he faced. Be calm. Fix your heart on the Lord. There is nothing that is going on that He does not know about.

Do not let the pressure in the economy, health issues, nightmares, threats from men, past experiences, failures, disappointments, betrayals, or anything else make you doubt the almightiness of God. In Christ, you are more than a conqueror. Paul finished his assignment. Jesus did a perfect job. Don't doubt the ability of the almighty God. No weapon formed against you will succeed.

*HOW REALISTIC IS IT?*
Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment.
_Proverbs 4:7 NLT_

Did you know that a lot of people fail in life due to broken focus? Others set out to do things without first thinking over what they want to do. When you ask God for wisdom and diligently apply it in your life, you will stand out among men. Face what you want to achieve today. Take the right actions towards the achievement of your goal. If you know exactly what you want and trust the Lord to help you to achieve it, all will be well with you.

Because the written Word of God is the reality of the true believer, study It and obey everything It tells you. Those who walk in the Word can never be behind in life. Apply Scripture in all that you do and see how peaceful and fulfilled you will be in life. Obedience to God's Word is wisdom. Do you have goals? Are they realistic? Anything you set out to achieve outside God's Word is not possible in Him. This is why the people who have made up their minds to do certain things, first withdraw from the Lord and other believers. Usually, they start by finding faults with God’s people.

A sister made up her mind to marry her unbelieving boss who was a married man. To achieve her goal, she left her church and preferred to stay among the people who didn't know her very well. She achieved what she wanted. But, her joy did not last because it was not possible for her to enjoy the peace of God in her sin.

Wisdom demands that you weigh your plans on the scale of Scripture. Joseph knew that he could not sin against God and still enjoy His favour. Moses rejected the pleasures of Egypt. The three Hebrew boys said no to the King's delicious meals because they did not want to defile themselves. What have you rejected for Christ's sake. Don't hesitate to say no to everything that goes against His Word. Those who follow Jesus will end up at the top.

Don't try to achieve what can never happen. No one can have the world and the Lord at the same time. You must clearly choose the side to which you belong: The Lord’s or the devil's. Only right standing with God will exalt you in life.

1. Thank God for His steadfast love which is new today and every day.
2. Pray for His mercy if you have not been trusting His Word as you should.
3. Pray for the spread of the Gospel in your country and for strength for missionaries.
4. Cast down every imagination that is against the Will of God for your life. Pray that God will manifest His almightiness in the lives of widows and those that are living under any form of oppression.
5. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and about your needs.
