BETRAYALS THAT HURT A PASTOR THE MOST
The average pastor like Jesus faces betrayals but the kind of betrayals that can break a pastor down completely include betrayals from the following people:
1. SPOUSE
The pastor's wife or spouse is one person he shares his pains with and so when such a one betrays his trust, it is very painful
2. DEACONS
The diaconate is supposed to help the pastor fulfill his ministry, however, when they conspire behind him to harm him, it hurts badly
3. THE CHURCH COUNCIL
The Church Council work with the pastor to move the church forward but when they turn their back on the pastor by betraying him, it cuts deeply
4. THE CHURCH SECRETARY
The Church secretary work with the pastor and is privy to some confidential information about him. When such information is used to betray the pastor, it can be disheartening
5. FELLOW PASTORS
Fellow pastors are people a pastor can run to for counsel and succour, nevertheless, when they conspire to betray him, his heart is broken completely
6. THOSE HE HELPED
There are people in church always running to the pastor for help financially and materially, even when they know he earns very little. When such people become Judases, it can be very touching
7. THOSE HE PRAYED TIRELESSLY FOR
There are members in spiritual captivity the pastor fasted and prayed for, suffering reprisal attacks on their behalf. When such people turn back to betray the same pastor, it could be devastating
8. A CLOSE PASTORAL COLLEAGUE
Every pastor has a close pastor friend who is like a brother. When such a one betrays him, it is as if the world has come to an end
9. BIOLOGICAL PARENTS
When the pastor's own parents end up betraying him, it may affect him psychologically
10. BIOLOGICAL CHILDREN
There are instances, a pastor's child or children betrays him to the enemy. Such a betrayal could be very painful
11. BLOOD BROTHERS AND SISTERS
When the blood brothers and sisters of a pastor conspire to betray him, it could cause a breakdown
12. SPIRITUAL MENTOR
A pastor's mentor is one in whom he reposes so much trust. If then such a mentor betrays his trust, it could be difficult for him to trust again
Conclusively, many pastors have been hurt deeply and are suffering and smiling while still doing ministry, may God console and heal them completely.
