If votes don't count, why do politicians spend billions on campaigns & vote buying?

If votes don't count, why is there so much controversy around voter registration and PVC collection?

If votes don't count, why do politicians suddenly become friends with ordinary citizens during election season?

If votes don't count, why are there constant battles over voter turnout, polling units, election results, and electoral laws?

The same government that insists you obtain a National ID also requires voter registration because participation matters in a democracy.

Politicians don't spend huge amounts of money seeking votes because they believe votes are irrelevant. They do it because votes have the power to determine who occupies public office.

The biggest propaganda is convincing citizens that their votes don't matter. When people believe that, they stay home, and a small number of voters end up deciding the future for everyone else.

No electoral system is perfect, but not coming out to vote gives them the power to Rig & decides who wins.

Pls go get ur PVC & Vote Right.

*TEXT: 1 KINGS 17:2-9*

2. _Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah:_
3. _“Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan._
4. _You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.”_
5. _So he did what the Lord had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there._
6. _The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook._
7. _Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land._
8. _Then the word of the Lord came to him:_
9. _“Go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there. I have directed a widow there to supply you with food.”_

*TOPIC: ELIJAH*

Baal is believed to be the "god" of rain and bountiful harvests by its adherents. Elijah challenged their belief through the power of God by pronouncing that there would be no rain for three and a half years. God directed Elijah to a brook where He used a raven to provide his meals. When the brook ran dry, God directed Elijah to yet another strange source of supply - a widow at Zarephath. God provided for Elijah from the most unlikely sources: an unclean bird and a foreign widow. What an uncommon grace! Indeed, God directs the steps of the righteous. Are you going through a precarious situation and feeling helpless and hopeless? Look up to the God of providence. He will supply your needs.

*REFLECTION:* _God's providence can come from unlikely sources._

*PRAYER:* _Dear Father, I need your caring touch today, in Jesus' name. Amen._

*Today's Bible Reading Plan:* _Psalm 78-83_

24. _After this his wife Elizabeth became pregnant and for five months remained in seclusion._
25. _“The Lord has done this for me,” she said. “In these days he has shown his favor and taken away my disgrace among the people.”_

*TOPIC: ELIZABETH*

Elizabeth’s experience of God's Grace is exhilarating. Truly, the barren can sing and burst into a song. In her old age, God fulfilled His promise and Elizabeth became pregnant. God visited Elizabeth in her painful and lonely condition, especially in a society where barren women are looked down upon as people of lesser value. She praised God for removing the stigma of barrenness from her. In our society, things are not different. Women who do not have children of their own are stigmatised, treated with disdain and suspicion. Unproductivity can be distressing for the affected. But one thing is sure: God is in charge of every situation and will visit you in His time. Have faith in God, He will wipe away your tears!

*REFLECTION:* _Stay focused, despite the challenges you face._

*PRAYER:* _Dear Father, cause me to be fruitful in every area of my life. Amen._

*Today's Bible Reading Plan:* _Psalm 67-72_

*TEXT: GENESIS 39:1-6*

1. _Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. Potiphar, an Egyptian who was one of Pharaoh’s officials, the captain of the guard, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him there._
2. _The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master._
3. _When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did,_
4. _Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned._
5. _From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the Lord was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field._
6. _So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph’s care; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate. Now Joseph was well-built and handsome,_

*TOPIC: JOSEPH*

Joseph's brothers, out of jealousy, thought they could thwart God's plans for his life. So they sold him to the Ishmaelites, and he ended up in Potiphar's house as a slave. He prospered in all he did because God was with him. Potiphar took notice of this and favoured him by entrusting everything to him, except his wife. However, God's plans for Joseph remained unchanged even in the most challenging situations. Even while in prison, God showed him kindness and favour (v.21). Are you in a fix and difficult situation because of betrayal? Do not despair, weeping will last just a moment and joy will dawn on you (Ps. 30:5). God's purposes for your life will surely come to pass. Just maintain a righteous posture.

*REFLECTION:* _Be upright even in challenging times._

*PRAYER:* _Father, help me to please you always. Amen._

*Today's Bible Reading Plan:* _Psalm 50-54_

*TEXT: LUKE 1:26-33*

26. _In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee,_
27. _to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary._
28. _The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”_
29. _Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be._
30. _But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God._
31. _You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus._
32. _He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,_
33. _and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”_

*TOPIC: MARY, THE MOTHER OF JESUS*

Mary's role in the salvation history is significant. The angel Gabriel brought her a message that God had chosen her as a vessel to carry His Son, the Saviour of the world. She was troubled and bewildered as to how it could happen since she was a virgin. From a human perspective, Mary's pedigree of being a young female, poor, and perhaps unschooled disqualified her from being used by God for a notable cause. But God is not a man who considers things outwardly. Mary found favour with Him to be the mother of Jesus. What blessedness! You do not have to be a 'somebody', educated or experienced to be used of God. When God places a demand on you, do not decline. Like Mary, in faith and confidence, say, 'May it be to me as you have said.'

*REFLECTION:* _God uses whom he chooses._

*PRAYER:* _Lord, let your will be done in my life. Amen._

*Today's Bible Reading Plan:* _Psalm 42-49_
