OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL
DATE: FRIDAY JANUARY 20TH, 2023
THEME: SET THE RIGHT EXAMPLE

MEMORISE:
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. 2 Timothy 2:21

READ: 2 Timothy 2:19-21
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

MESSAGE:
Following our discussion which started yesterday, the second question that you should ask yourself is "What kind of example am l going to be for those coming behind me?" You see God can raise somebody and promote him or her greatly, but when the fellow makes a mistake and crashes, he or she becomes an example for others to learn from, so as not to make the same mistake. If you read l Corinthians 10:11 carefully, you would see that verses 1-4 were dedicated to describing the investments that God had made in the people of Israel, then the rest of the passage goes on to list how many of them became examples for those of us coming after. God is making investments in you now. He is making sure that you read and hear certain messages, He is promoting you and doing miracles for you now; what will be the outcome of all these? Will you be used as a good example later in future or a bad one?
But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 1 Corinthians 10:5
The verse above says God was not pleased with many of them. The truth is that not many people will end up as good examples; most will end up as bad ones because only a few will be violent enough to take the Kingdom of God by force (Matthew 11:12). The devil will throw a lot of temptations your way. Some of them will come as harmless suggestions, but you have to be fully ready to submit to the Lord and resist the devil so that he would flee (James 4:7).
As we see in our Bible reading of today, purge yourself of all unrighteousness so you can set the right examples for those coming behind you. Ask the Holy Spirit for help. You must never get to the point where you feel you have enough of the Holy Spirit. Only the Holy Spirit can keep you from falling; embrace Him like your life depends on it, because it actually does.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, don't let me end up as a bad example to those coming after me.

HYMN 28: WHAT CAN WASH AWAY MY STAIN
1 What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain:
Oh! precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

2 For my cleansing this I see:
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
For my pardon this my plea:
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!

3 Nothing can for sin atone:
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
Naught of good that I have done:
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!

4 This is all my hope and peace:
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
This is all my righteousness:
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL
DATE: THURSDAY JANUARY 19TH 2023
THEME: LEARN FROM OTHERS

MEMORISE:
It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night. 1 Samuel 15:11

READ: 1 Corinthians 10:1-11
1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

MESSAGE:
It repenteth me that l have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night. 1 Samuel 15:11

The first time I read the passage above, it was shocking to me that God would repent. I had read messages in the Bible like Ezekiel 33:14-16 where God said if He says to the wicked that he will die, but the wicked changes his ways, then He wouldn't let him die anymore. However; what is mind-boggling about Saul 's case is that this is a different kind of repentance. Of a truth, Saul was a very humble, diligent and responsible young man before he became king. In l Samuel 9:3-4, his father sent him on an errand to search for some missing animals. Saul kept searching and was determined not to return home until he found them. God is Alpha and Omega (Revelation 1:8), He knows the end from the beginning (Acts 15:18), how can somebody like that repent of the decision He had made? One day, the Lord used the scripture below to provide an answer to my question.
Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 1 Corinthians 10:11

All the stories we read in the Bible, even some of the things happening around us today, are supposed to be lessons to us. One could therefore say that He looks for scapegoats to use to teach others a lesson. Now, there are two questions you should ask yourself from this revelation: first, are you really learning lessons from the examples that God has given you in the Bible and around you? Have you learnt from Judas lscariot's case that greed can destroy a person both here and in eternity? Have you learned from Samson that sexual sins will reduce a strong man to a piece of bread (Proverbs 6:26)? Have you learn from the examples around you?

REFLECTION:
Are you currently indulging in sin? What can you learn from the Bible about the repercussions of that sin?

HYMN 6: I AM SO GLAD THAT OUR FATHER IN HEAV'N
1 I am so glad that our Father in heav’n
Tells of His love in the Book He has giv’n;
Wonderful things in the Bible I see:
This is the dearest, that Jesus loves me.

Chorus
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves me, Jesus loves me;
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves even me.

2 Jesus loves me and I know I love Him,
Love brought Him down my lost soul to redeem,
Yes, it was love made Him die on the tree:
Oh, i am certain that Jesus loves me.

3. In this assurance I find sweetest rest,
Trusting in Jesus, I know I am blessed;
Satan, dismayed, from my soul now doth flee,
When I just tell him that Jesus loves me.

4. Oh, if there's only one song I can sing,
When in His beauty I see the great King,
This shall my song through eternity be,
"Oh, what a wonder that Jesus loves me!"

5. If one should ask of me how can I tell?
Glory to Jesus, I know very well
God's Holy Spirit with mine doth agree,
Constantly witnessing Jesus loves me.

THEME: SUBSTITUTES ABOUND

MEMORISE: And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD. 2 Samuel 6:21

READ: 1 Kings 5:5
[5]And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my name.

MESSAGE:
In the game of football, there are substitutes for the players on the pitch. They are usually on the sidelines waiting to replace those who get injured or perform below standard. These substitutes are always ready to play, but they are likely not given the opportunity until towards the end of the football game.
God always has a substitute for anyone who misbehaves. Thus, that you are the leader of a group/department doesn't give you the right to speak rudely to other members of the group. When King Saul disobeyed God, He quickly replaced him with David, a man after His heart. My child, when placed in any position, never misuse it or become proud.
Beloved, you should always see any task given to you as a privilege, not a problem, because the fellow who assigned the task to you has substitutes in case you default. Execute each assignment with joy and to the best of your ability.

PRAYER POINT
Father, please do not replace me in Jesus' name.

HYMN 13 - PASS ME NOT, O GENTLE SAVIOUR
1. Pass me not, O gentle Saviour,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.

CHORUS
Saviour Saviour,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.

2. Let me, at Thy throne of mercy
Find a sweet relief;
Kneeling there in deep contrition,
Help my unbelief.

3. Trusting only in Thy merit
Would I seek Thy face
Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
Save me by Thy grace.

4. Thou, the spring of all my comfort,
More than life to me.
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
Whom in heaven but Thee

THEME: SACRIFICES CAN AVERT DISASTERS

MEMORISE: And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was intreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel. 2 Samuel 24:25

READ: 1 Kings 17:8 -16

8 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,

9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.

12 And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.

14 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.

15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

MESSAGE

I In our Bible text for today, we read about the widow of Zarephath who had only one meal left. She and her son were going to eat and die. She sacrificed that one meal and she and her son lived on. In Psalm 50:14-15, the Bible says if you offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and pay your vows, God will deliver you in the day of trouble. In 2 Samuel 24: 11-25, seventy thousand men had died from a pestilence that arose in lsrael due to David conducting a census that displeased God. This was a big disaster and something had to be done immediately to stop it. They had prayed and, although God had stopped the angel that was spreading the plague, He did not recall him, the angel remained at the threshing place of Araunah the Jebusite. This still mean trouble, so David's seer - Gad decided that they should apply a principle to avert the disaster.

And Gad came that day to David, and said unto Him, Go up, rear an altar unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Araunah the Jebusite.
2 Samuel 24:16

When David wanted to make the sacrifice, Araunah tried to give everything needed to him for free, but he refused. He insisted that he had to bear the cost. He gave the sacrifice and the disaster was immediately averted.

And David built an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was untreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from lsrael.

2 Samuel 24:25

The funny thing is that many non-Christians know this principle: that, in the face of impending doom or disaster, a really big sacrificial offering can avert it (2 Kings 3:26-27). We as children of the living God should follow David's example and be ready to give a sacrificial offering, especially in trouble times.

May God help us - the true children of God to apply this principle in order to avert looming disasters in Jesus' name.

PRAYER POINT

Father, when a disaster seems to be looming around me, teach me what to do and give me the grace to do it.

HYMN 19: ROCK OF AGES CLEFT FOR ME

1 Rock of Ages, cleft for me,

Let me hide myself in Thee;

Let the water and the blood,

From Thy riven side which flowed,

Be of sin the double cure,

Save me from its guilt and power.

2 Not the labor of my hands

Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;

Could my zeal no respite know,

Could my tears forever flow,

All could never sin erase,

Thou must save, and save by grace.

3 Nothing in my hands I bring,

Simply to Thy cross I cling;

Naked, come to Thee for dress,

Helpless, look to Thee for grace:

Foul, I to the fountain fly,

Wash me, Savior, or I die.

4 While I draw this fleeting breath,

When mine eyes shall close in death,

When I soar to worlds unknown,

See Thee on Thy judgment throne,

Rock of Ages, cleft for me,

Let me hide myself in Thee.

TOPIC: THE LIVING SACRIFICE

MEMORISE:
“I beseech you therefore, brethren by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” - (Romans 12:1)

READ: Matthew 16:24-27 (KJV)
24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

MESSAGE:
The sacrifice that pleases God the most is your life. You become a living sacrifice the day you surrender your life to Jesus. From the day you genuinely surrender your life to Him, He can send you wherever He wants, set the direction of your life and use you to fulfil His plans. God knows, I never wanted to be a Pastor, talk less of a General Overseer, but I am a living sacrifice. I had wanted to retire at the age of seventy, so that I could then begin to live a normal life - sleep when others sleep, eat when others eat and so on, but God said, “No”. Since I am a living sacrifice, my response was, “Yes, Daddy”.

God expects your entire life to be a sacrifice to Him; you are to go wherever He sends you. When He says witness - you witness, sit - you sit, pray - you pray.
The moment God knows that He has you as a living sacrifice, whatever other offering you give becomes acceptable because it would be given under His guidance. Some of us, even before coming to Church, have made up our minds on the offering to give. For the fellow who is a living sacrifice, God will tell them what to give.
When I became General Overseer, things were hard. We could hardly pay the staff on the church’s payroll and many a time, there would be nothing left to pay the General Overseer. Having left paid employment for full-time ministry after working for the government for several years, I received my gratuity, with plans to save some, invest some in shares and so on. However, since I am a living sacrifice, I asked God, “What do I do with this money?” He responded that I should divide it into three parts and give each to a different ministry while retaining nothing for myself. As painful as this was, I was comforted when He said further, “I will be your source”. When you become a living sacrifice, God will become your source. The day you became a living sacrifice, you became His property, so He will take care of you. Things may be hard at first, but He will make sure that your tomorrow will be all right (Colossians 1:27).

REFLECTION:
Are you a living sacrifice for God? Can He decide to do whatever He pleases with you and all you have?

HYMNAL: 23 - TAKE MY LIFE, AND LET IT BE
1 Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.

2 Take my hands and let them move
at the impulse of thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
swift and beautiful for thee,
swift and beautiful for thee.

3 Take my voice and let me sing
always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from thee,
filled with messages from thee.

4 Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
every power as thou shalt choose,
every power as thou shalt choose.

5 Take my will and make it thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is thine own;
it shall be thy royal throne,
it shall be thy royal throne.

6 Take my love; my Lord, I pour
at thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for thee,
ever, only, all for thee.

THEME: FLEE FROM LUST

MEMORISE: Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 2 Timothy 2:22

READ: Genesis 39:1-12
[1]And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither.
[2]And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
[3]And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.
[4]And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.
[5]And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.
[6]And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured.
[7]And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.
[8]But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;
[9]There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?
[10]And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.
[11]And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within.
[12]And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.

MESSAGE:
It is not enough to say NO to advances from the devil, fleeing is the best option. This is why Apostle Paul warned in 1 Thessalonians 5:22:
*"Abstain from all appearance of evil."*

The Bible did not record that you should say no; instead, it says run as fast as you can. So, if you have friends who tell you they lie to save themselves from getting punished and that it works for them, I implore you to cut ties with them now before you also master the act of telling lies.
As the saying goes: "prevention is better than cure." Having once wasted my time toying with sin in my youth and now living on the path of holiness by the grace of God, I can boldly tell you as a father, that it is better to live a holy life. I pray that the Lord will give you the courage to flee instead of just saying NO today in Jesus' name.

KEY POINT
Why leap when you can run

HYMN 15 - ONWARD, CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS
1. Onward, Christian soldiers!
Marching as to war,
Looking unto Jesus,
Who is gone before;
Christ, the Royal Master,
Leads against the foe;
Forward into battle,
See His banners go.

CHORUS
Onward, Christian soldiers!
Marching as to war,
Looking unto Jesus,
Who is gone before.

2. At the name of Jesus
Satan's host doth Ilee;
On then, Christian soldiers
On to victory!
Hell's foundations quiver
At the shout of praise:
Brothers, lift your voices,
Loud your anthems raise.

3. Like a mighty army
Moves the Church of God:
Brothers, we are treading
Where the saints have trod.
We are not divided,
All one body we
One in hope and doctrine,
One in charity.

4. Crowns and thrones may perish
Kingdoms rise and wane;
But the Church of Jesus
Constant will remain:
Gates of hell can never
'Gainst that church prevail;
We have Christ's own promise-
And that cannot fail.

5. Onward then, ye people,
Join our happy throng;
Blend with ours your voices
In the triumph song:
"Glory, praise and honour,
Unto Christ the King", -
This, through countless ages,
Men and angels sing.

TOPIC: RAISING AN ALTAR UNTO GOD

MEMORISE:
“The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.” - (Leviticus 6:13)

READ: Genesis 28:11-19 (KJV)
11 And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.
12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
13 And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;
14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
15 And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.
16 And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.
17 And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.
18 And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.
19 And he called the name of that place Beth-el: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first.

MESSAGE:
Abraham was a man who raised many altars for God (Genesis 12:7, Genesis 13:4, Genesis 13:18, Genesis 22:9). Little wonder why he had transgenerational blessings. An altar is a meeting place between God and man. In our Bible reading for today, we see how, even when Jacob was unaware that he was at an altar, he saw in a dream that the place was a meeting point between heaven and earth. For example, an altar can be a corner of your room if you are living in a one-room apartment. You could set aside a corner in your room with a commitment to meet with God there regularly. You must treat the place as holy; because that is the altar of the Almighty God. The moment you set aside that place as an altar to God, any time you go there, God would be waiting.
When man goes to an altar, he does so to offer sacrifices to God and to worship Him. In Genesis 22:1-14 when God asked Abraham to offer Isaac as a burnt offering, He asked him to go to a particular place, raise an altar there and present a sacrifice. When visiting a great man, because of how much you honour him, you don’t go empty-handed, so why do so when going to meet with the Most High God? Don’t go to God empty handed. If you don’t have anything at all, He will accept a sacrifice of praise (Jeremiah 17:26).
When God comes to meet man on the altar, He comes to bless. Psalm 67:5-7 tells us that when praises go up, blessings come down. In Genesis 22:15-18, when Abraham brought Isaac to the altar to be offered, God stopped him and said, “You have done your part, let me do mine, in blessing I will bless You, in multiplying, I will multiply your seed”. God meets with His children during services to bless them, especially those who come with a sacrifice. I raised an altar in a small room inside the first house I lived in the Redemption Camp well over 20 years ago. The house is now called the ‘Open Heavens International Centre’. Since that place was marked out as an altar, up to today, people who go there to pray in faith receive mighty miracles from God that even I find amazing.

ACTION POINT:
Identify a specific part of your house or environment that you will mark out as your altar and ensure you meet with God there regularly.

HYMNAL: 16 - PRAISE HIM! PRAISE HIM! JESUS OUR BLESSED REDEEM!
1 Praise him, praise him! Jesus, our blessed redeemer!
Sing, O earth, his wonderful love proclaim!
Hail him, hail him! Highest archangels in glory!
Strength and honor give to his holy name!
Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard his children.
In his arms he carries them all day long.

Refrain:
Praise him! Praise him! tell of his excellent greatness.
Praise him! Praise him! ever in joyful song.

2 Praise him, praise him! Jesus, our blessed redeemer!
For our sins, he suffered, and bled, and died.
He our rock, our hope of eternal salvation,
hail him, hail him! Jesus, the crucified.
Sound his praises, Jesus who bore our sorrows,
love unbounded, wonderful, deep, and strong. [Refrain]

3 Praise him, praise him! Jesus, our blessed redeemer!
Heav’nly portals loud with hosannas ring!
Jesus, Savior, reigneth forever and ever!
Crown him, crown him! prophet, and priest, and king!
Christ is coming, over the world victorious.
Pow’r and glory unto the Lord belong. [Refrain]

THEME: YOUR PLACEMENT MATTERS

MEMORISE: And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? Genesis 3:9

READ: Genesis 3:8-9
[8]And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
[9]And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

MESSAGE:
God created us so that we can constantly have fellowship with Him. However, the state of the heart of anyone who wants to be in constant fellowship with God matters.
In our passage for today, when God asked Adam where he was, He wasn't keen on his location because He knew Adam would be nowhere else but the Garden. Besides, He could see him; He sees everything. So, God was asking Adam where his heart and loyalty were. I ask you too, where are you?
If you have sinned or wandered away, you can go back to God today. There is no safety outside Him. Don't be like Adam, who took a stroll away from God, and the devil took advantage of that. He and his wife eventually got banished from the Garden. Be in a place where God can access you at all times.

REFLECTION
Where are you?

HYMN 3 - ALL TO JESUS I SURRENDER
1. All to Jesus I surrender
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.

CHORUS
I surrender all.
I surrender all:
All to Thee, my blessed saviour
I surrender all

2. All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow;
Worldly pleasures all forsaken.
Take me, Jesus, take me now.

3. All to Jesus I surrender.
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me.

4. All to Jesus I surrender,
Now I feel the sacred flame
O the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory to His name!

BIBLE TEXT: Isaiah 66:12

MEMORY VERSE: Galatians 5:22 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith."

LESSON AIM: At the end of this study, teenagers will understand that Peace like a river is experienced in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit.

CENTRAL TRUTH: God gives Peace like a river through the Holy Spirit.

INTRODUCTION: Even though we live in a world full of war, insecurity, violence, and uncertainty, God has promised to give us peace like a river in the midst of it all. Peace is said to be a state of tranquility, quiet, and harmony; absence of violence. When we look at the river, it follows its course moving around obstacles such as rocks, tree stumps, and even carrying boats and other objects yet none is able to stop it. Also, the peace God gives us, flows continuously despite the obstacles and challenges in our life.
