ADC AND NDC ARE VIABLE PLATFORMS FOR THE GOOD PEOPLE OF ESE-ODO TO MAINTAIN THE ROTATIONAL ORDER IN THE SELECTION CANDIDATE FOR ONDO HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY, IF THE RULING PARTY, ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS (APC) FAILS.
The peace, unity and political stability that have existed in Ese-Odo Local Government over the years did not happen by accident. They were built on mutual trust, understanding, sacrifice and respect for the age-long rotational arrangement between Arogbo-ijaw and Ijaw-Apoi that make up our constituency.
This rotational understanding, particularly has remained a symbol of fairness, equity and political inclusion. It has helped to reduce unnecessary rivalry, fostered peaceful coexistence and ensured that each side feels a sense of belonging in the political process.
It is therefore disturbing to hear about the plan of the ruling APC to jettison this respected arrangement opting to return the incumbent member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, representing Ese-Odo, Hon. Toyin Allen, for another term against the established rotational order.
We wish to state clearly and unequivocally that such a move, if carried out, would amount to a direct assault on the political understanding that has sustained peace and balance in Ese-Odo for years. No individual ambition should be allowed to override the collective interest and political harmony of our people.
The opposition parties in Ese-Odo are watching and they remain committed to justice, fairness and the preservation of this noble rotational principle. We strongly believe that power must rotate as agreed, so that every bloc and community will continue to have confidence in our democratic process.
We therefore assure the good people of Ese-Odo that there is absolutely no cause for alarm. If the APC chooses to abandon the path of fairness and equity, we, the opposition parties, shall uphold and defend the rotational arrangement with all democratic means available to us.
Our candidate shall emerge in line with the age-long rotational understanding, and we are confident that the people of Ese-Odo, who have always stood for justice and fairness, will massively support and vote for our candidate in order to protect the unity, peace and political stability of our constituency.
This struggle is not about an individual. It is about protecting a legacy of political balance, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence that our political leaders painstakingly built over the years.
We call on all lovers of peace, stakeholders, youths, women, community leaders and political actors across Ese-Odo to stand firm in defence of equity and justice. Any attempt to truncate the rotational arrangement is capable of creating avoidable tension, political distrust and division among our people.
Ese-Odo belongs to all of us. No group should be marginalized, and no political agreement that has sustained unity should be sacrificed on the altar of selfish ambition.
