Prayer for Mothers on Mother’s Day

Heavenly Father,
We thank You today for the gift of mothers, for their love that reflects your own heart.
Bless every mother here, and every mother remembered in our hearts.
For the sleepless nights, the quiet sacrifices, the prayers whispered over children, and the strength shown in delicate moments, we give you thanks.

Lord, renew their joy where they are weary.
Give them wisdom for each decision and peace that guards their hearts.
For mothers who grieve, comfort them.
For those who long to be mothers, hold them close.
For those whose mothers are with you, fill their memories with gratitude and hope.

May we, as their children, honor them not just today but daily, with love, respect, and gratitude.
Bless them, Lord, and let them know they are deeply loved — by us and by You.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen!!

Friday 17th, April.
In gospel reading today, (John 6:1-15) Jesus fed 5,000 men with five loaves of bread and two Fish, but "what are they among so many?" Jesus said make the people sit down.
Jesus took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who where seated , also the fish as much as they wanted.

Jesus did not just only gave us anew life through his crucifixion and resurrection but understands too that he also need to feed our body which signifies his love, caring and looking out for our well-being.

So in that same way;

When you say to a person God help you! Offer the help when you are in position to help.

When you say to someone God be with you in your struggles! Be with the person when you know you can do that for him/her.

When we say may God console you! Console the person when you know you can console the person.

Jesus teaching today tells us to care for one another in spirit,body and soul.
Be a source of someone's joy and happiness.
Be the God someone sees.
Be the light that shines through someone's pathway.
Be the guide and roadmap to God when people look at you.

May the words of the Lord in our hearts lead us to eternal life Amen!!

The verse that stands out:“He does not ration his gift of the Spirit.”

Brief reflection
God isn’t holding back on you. The Risen Jesus gives the Holy Spirit _without measure_ — no stingy drops, no “manage this small portion.” If you feel empty, stuck, or overwhelmed, it’s not because God is rationing grace. He’s pouring.

John reminds us: _“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life.”_ Real Easter faith isn’t just saying “I believe” — it’s letting that belief change how you act today. Choosing light over darkness, trust over panic, obedience over delay.

Takeaway for today:You’re meant to live “from above,” not just survive “earthly” wahala. Ask for the Spirit boldly — for patience, wisdom, peace — because God already said yes.

_One line prayer:_ “Holy Spirit, fill me without measure today. Help me believe and obey.”
