TOPIC: GODLY ZEAL

TEXT: Ps 69:9, Jn 2:17

Zeal is the eager desire, energetic enthusiasm, or passionate dedication in pursuit of a
cause, objective, or belief.

Godly zeal is a passionate, intense devotion to God and His purposes, driven by a deep love
for Him rather than a desire for personal recognition or selfish gain.

• Your love for something or someone will make you go overboard for it or the person.

Godly zeal is what will make you serve God regardless of all that is happening. It means that
you are completely sold out for Him, His Kingdom and His things.

OUR MAJOR EXAMPLE

Jesus – He is our utmost example. Jesus taught and did all He did till His last breath, He was
compassionate. Jn 2:17

OTHER BIBLICAL EXAMPLES

• David – This man was so consumed with God that He became a man that carried His
awe and consciousness. Ps 69:19

• Enoch – He walked with God till he was no more. Gen 5:24

• Anna the prophetess – This woman devoted her whole life to praying for the coming of
Messiah. Luk 2:36-38

• Apostle Paul – After his conversion, he was completely sold out for God. He was told
that he would be killed if he went to a certain place, and he still went in total
submission to God. Acts 21:10-14

HOW TO IDENTIFY/ LIVE A LIFE SOLD OUT FOR GOD.

1. Keeping God’s commandments. Jn 14:15, Matt 22: 37-40

2. The great commission : (a) Evangelising. Matt 28:19-20 (b)Shinning your light in the
market place. Matt 5:16

3. Submission to the perfect will of God. Where else shall we go? Jn 6:68.
