📃🍞🍜 *TOPIC: PRAYER, FAITH AND WORK*

📜🍞 SCRIPTURE TEXT:
James 2:17–18 (KJV)*

“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.”

📖 Proverbs 14:23 (KJV)

“In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.”

💡🍞 DEVOTIONAL BODY:
Prayer, faith, and work are three important principles that help a believer move forward in life.

Prayer connects us to God. Faith teaches us to trust God. Work gives expression to the faith we have received.

Some people pray for opportunities but never prepare themselves for those opportunities. Others have faith that God will bless them but refuse to take the necessary steps. God can open a door, but we must be willing to walk through it.

Nehemiah is a good example. When he heard that the walls of Jerusalem were broken down, he prayed and fasted before God. But after praying, he did not sit down and wait. He organized the people and began rebuilding the wall.

📖 Nehemiah 4:9 (KJV)

“Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.”

Notice the combination: “we made our prayer” AND “set a watch.”

They prayed, but they also worked.

Prayer without action can become empty expectation. Work without prayer can become human effort without divine direction. But when prayer, faith, and diligent work come together, we position ourselves to experience God's help.

🌾 SHORT STORY:

A farmer prayed to God for a great harvest. Every morning, he prayed, “Lord, bless my farm and give me a good harvest.”

But he refused to clear the weeds, plant the seeds, or water the crops.

Another farmer also prayed for a harvest. After praying, he went into the field, prepared the soil, planted his seeds, removed the weeds, and continued working faithfully.

When harvest time came, the second farmer had something to gather.

The lesson is simple: prayer is powerful, faith is necessary, but we must also do our part.

God gives the increase, but we must faithfully plant and water.

📖 1 Corinthians 3:6 (KJV)

“I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.”

Therefore, don't only pray for your dream—work toward it. Don't only pray for souls—go and preach the Gospel. Don't only pray for your family—love and serve them. Don't only pray for success—develop yourself and work diligently.

📃🍲🍜 APPLICATION:

Today, examine your life.

What have you been praying about?

What step of faith should you take?

What work have you been postponing?

Ask God for wisdom, strength, and direction, then take a faithful step forward.

Remember:

🙏 PRAY — Ask God for direction.

❤️ HAVE FAITH — Trust God's promises.

🚶‍♂️ WORK — Act on what God has placed before you.

Do not allow fear, laziness, discouragement, or delay to stop you. Your prayer should produce faith, your faith should produce action, and your action should produce results according to God's will.

1️⃣ 🙏 LORD, give me the wisdom to know what I should do and the strength to do it faithfully.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

2️⃣ 🙏 FATHER, remove every spirit of laziness, fear, discouragement, and procrastination from my life. Give me grace to work diligently and faithfully.

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;”

3️⃣ 🙏 LORD, let the work of my hands prosper, and let my labour produce results according to Your perfect will.

“And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.”

🍞🚶‍♂️ DAILY ACTION STEPS:

✅ 1. Pray before starting your day.

✅ 2. Identify one important thing you have been postponing and take action today.

✅ 3. Put your faith into practice through one positive step.

✅ 4. Work diligently, even when nobody is watching.

✅ 5. Commit the result into God's hands and trust Him for the increase.

“I will pray with faith, work with diligence, and trust God for the increase. I will not be lazy or discouraged. The Lord will establish the work of my hands, and my life will bring glory to His name, in Jesus' name. Amen!”

📃🍞🍜 *TOPIC: THE WAY OF THE CROSS LEADS HOME — IT'S SWEET TO KNOW*

📜🍞 *SCRIPTURE TEXT: Matthew 16:24–25 (KJV)*

“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.”

🔑🍞 KEY VERSE:

*“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”*

💡🍞 DEVOTIONAL BODY:
The way of the cross is not always the easiest way, but it is the way that leads us to Christ. Jesus never promised that following Him would be without challenges. He promised that He would be with us.

The cross represents surrender, obedience, sacrifice and complete trust in Jesus. When we choose God's way instead of our own way, we may sometimes have to give up certain things, habits, relationships or desires that are not pleasing to Him.

But there is something sweet about knowing that we are walking in the footsteps of Jesus. The cross may involve sacrifice, but it leads to eternal life, peace with God and the joy of being with Christ forever.

Jesus said in John 14:2–3 (KJV):

“In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

The cross leads home!

🌿 SHORT STORY:
A young man once travelled through a difficult and unfamiliar road with an older man who knew the way. Along the journey, the road became rough, narrow and uncomfortable. The young man complained, “Why can't we take an easier road?”

The older man replied, “Because this is the road that leads to the house.”

Although the journey was difficult, the young man continued because he trusted the one leading him. Eventually, they arrived safely home.

Beloved, sometimes the Christian journey may feel difficult. There may be trials, rejection, persecution, sacrifices and moments when you wonder why God is allowing certain things.

But don't turn back.

If Jesus is leading you, keep following Him.

The road of the cross leads home.

And one day, we will hear the beautiful words of Jesus:

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:21

📃🍲🍜 APPLICATION:
1️⃣ Follow Jesus even when the road is difficult.

2️⃣ Deny anything that is taking you away from Christ.

3️⃣ Don't allow temporary difficulties to make you abandon your eternal destination.

4️⃣ Remember that the cross is not the end of the story. Resurrection, victory and eternal life are ahead.

5️⃣ Keep your eyes on Jesus, because He is both the Way and the destination.

Jesus said in John 14:6 (KJV):

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

🙇‍♀️🍞 POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS:
🙏 1. Father, give me the grace to deny myself, take up my cross and faithfully follow Jesus every day, in Jesus' name.

📖 Luke 9:23 (KJV):
“And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”

🙏 2. Father, when the journey becomes difficult, strengthen my faith and help me never to turn back from following You, in Jesus' name.

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

🙏 3. Father, keep me faithful to the end and help me finish my Christian race and make it safely home to You, in Jesus' name.

📖 2 Timothy 4:7–8 (KJV):
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day.”

🍞🚶‍♂️ DAILY ACTION STEPS:
✅ Today, choose God's way over your own way.

✅ Identify one thing that is making your walk with Jesus difficult and surrender it to God.

✅ Encourage someone who is struggling in their Christian journey.

✅ Spend time in prayer and God's Word today.

✅ Keep following Jesus—no matter what happens.

📃🍞🍜 *TOPIC: DEVELOP YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS*

📜🍞 *SCRIPTURE TEXT: John 15:4–5 (KJV)*

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

*“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”*

💡🍞 DEVOTIONAL BODY:

Having a relationship with Jesus is more than attending church, carrying a Bible, or knowing Christian songs. It is about personally knowing Jesus, loving Him, talking with Him, obeying His Word, and walking with Him every day.

A strong relationship does not develop by accident. It develops through consistent fellowship.

Just as a friendship becomes stronger when two people spend time together, our relationship with Jesus becomes stronger when we spend time in prayer, study His Word, worship Him, and obey His instructions.

Jesus said in John 15:5, “without me ye can do nothing.” Our strength, direction, peace, spiritual growth, and fruitfulness come from remaining connected to Him.

📖 1 John 2:6 (KJV)

“He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.”

❤️ SHORT STORY:

A young man received a beautiful Bible from his father. He carried it everywhere and proudly told people, “This Bible is very important to me.”

One day, his father asked, “How often do you read it?”

The young man replied, “I hardly read it, but I always carry it.”

His father smiled and said, “Carrying the Bible close to your body is not the same as allowing God's Word to come close to your heart.”

The young man understood that having something near him was not the same as having a relationship with it.

In the same way, we can carry a Bible, attend church, sing worship songs, and still fail to develop our personal relationship with Jesus.

Jesus wants more than our religious activities. He wants our hearts.

📖 Philippians 3:10 (KJV)

“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;”

The Apostle Paul had already served God greatly, yet he still desired to know Jesus more.

That should also be our desire: “Lord Jesus, I want to know You more.”

📃🍲 APPLICATION:

1️⃣ Spend quality time with Jesus every day through prayer.

2️⃣ Read and meditate on God's Word, not merely for information but for transformation.

3️⃣ Talk to Jesus honestly about your fears, plans, struggles, and desires.

4️⃣ Obey what Jesus teaches you. Obedience is evidence of genuine love.

📖 John 14:15 (KJV)

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

5️⃣ Remove anything that is weakening your fellowship with Jesus.

6️⃣ Do not wait until you have a problem before seeking God. Develop your relationship with Him every day.

🙏 1. Father, help me to draw closer to Jesus and develop a deeper personal relationship with Him.

📖 James 4:8 (KJV)

🙏 2. Lord Jesus, give me the grace to remain connected to You, obey Your Word, and bear fruit that glorifies Your name.

🙏 3. Holy Spirit, help me to know Jesus more, love Him more, and walk with Him faithfully every day.

✅ Spend at least 15 minutes today alone with Jesus in prayer and Bible reading.

✅ Read John 15:1–11 slowly and ask yourself: “Am I truly abiding in Christ?”

✅ Obey one clear instruction from God's Word today.

✅ Before going to bed, thank Jesus for His presence and ask Him to help you grow closer to Him.

❤️ REMEMBER:

You cannot develop a strong relationship with someone you rarely spend time with.

Make Jesus your daily priority.

Know Him.
Talk with Him.
Listen to Him.
Obey Him.
Walk with Him.

The closer you walk with Jesus, the stronger your faith becomes.
