sir/ma, am so luckily opportune to share this little context with you this afternoon. Until you are visited by God on what I tagged special encounter, your life, dreams, aspirations,aiming, desire, etc will remain with you and perhaps die with you. In Gen.17:1 to vs 10, we are being exposed to the encounter that changes many things for Abraham . But note, every special encounter doesn't come easy. It carries with it a big load of responsibility as well as a huge load of blessings. First, it begins with an assignment, vs1 says walk before me "perfect", not walk with me or work for me. The question is why perfection, because you can't function with a stainless gift in a stained state, I put it this way, you can run with a divine assignment with a stained vehicle.So perfection, righteousness, holiness is paramount and a duty if you crave for such an encounter. But why do I say this encounter is special, prior to this particular meeting between God and Abraham, God had already been talking to him and his name was not changed and the wife's name,in vs 5, God said a father of many nations have I made you, and to Sarah,a mother of many nations too. Meaning that originality of creation was birth and the sense of it activated, and an everlasting covenant, contract was entered. Note this, every special encounter begins with assignment unto God and conclude with assignment unto God. In vs 10, God said circumcise every thing in your household beginning with yourself. If I may ask what is circumcision and it's spiritual explanation? To cut, that's what some of us know about it.In another context, I'll talk about it. Something move me each time am reading this text and what is it, the self same day obedience of Abraham in vs 23,26. Abraham did not wait till day break to start. So I ask you how much time do you need to begin your assignment on earth, your God given assignment, a help to humanity and a worship to Divinity. Don't wait too long because it's dangerous.
