THE POSSIBILITIES OF PRAISES.

MEMORY VERSE: “And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance… and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much” (2 Chronicles 20:25).

TEXT: 2 CHRONICLES 20:20-27

When praises ascend to heaven, then wonders descend” is a popular saying among Pentecostal Churches. The account of 2 Chronicles 20:20-27 illustrates the possibilities of praises and manifestation of God’s presence to identify with His children to bless them. King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah were faced with an intimidating and relentless enemy, but instead of giving in to fear, they chose to trust God and praise His name. God in response did wonders on their behalf, causing confusion among their enemies and granting His people victory.

The case of Paul and Silas in Acts 16:25 also serves as a reminder to believers that genuine praise often precedes great manifestations of God’s intervention in the affairs of His people whereby, He grants them desired victories. Praising God shifts our focus from our challenges to the greatness of God. Praises not only magnify God but invite His presence into our situations. Surround yourself with the atmosphere of praise and witness great possibilities in your life. However, praising God has to be accompanied with a holy life for it to be effective.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, give me a heart that will praise You always.

QUOTE: He granted them desired victories.

CHALLENGE: In every circumstance, praise God.

THE POSSIBILITIES OF FAITH

MEMORY VERSE: “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth” (Mark 9:23).

TEXT: MARK 9:20-27

Voltaire said, “Faith consists in believing when it is beyond the power of reason to believe.” Faith in God, in line with this quote is about absolute trust in God even when things look scary. Faith is one of the principles that God has established in His word for one to enter into and enjoy our relationship with Him. The Scriptures clearly reveal that it is not possible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6). God is a Spirit and He operates in the realm of spirits. Since we are humans, we cannot fully understand how He works. We therefore have to arm ourselves with faith to connect to and receive from Him.

The woman who suffered with the issue of blood for twelve years received instantaneous healing by touching the helm of Christ’s garment by faith. Jesus is still honouring faith today. No matter how long or irredeemable your problem seems to be, if you can believe and pray to God today, He will answer you and grant your heart desires. Our prayers are effective when we are born-again and obedient to His Word.

PRAYER: O Lord, increase my faith.

QUOTE: He will answer you.

CHALLENGE: Faith, the ‘invisible hand’ that receives from God.

THE OMNISCIENCE OF OUR GOD

MEMORY VERSE: "O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me" (Psalm 139:1).

TEXT: PSALMS 139:1-9

A young boy once tried to hide from his father after breaking a vase. He hid under the bed, thinking his father wouldn’t find him. But his father, knowing the boy’s favourite hiding spot, called him out gently, saying, “I know where you are.” This story reminds us of God’s omniscience. He knows everything about us, from our deepest fears to our highest aspirations. He is Almighty and All-knowing and nothing happens without His knowledge.

Psalm 139 shows us that we cannot run or hide from God’s presence. He knows our innermost thoughts and loves us despite our flaws, but He doesn’t want us to continue with our flaws. How foolish to think that you can commit sin secretly and hide it from Him! God is calling all sinners to repentance because no sin can be hidden from Him. Beloved, if you are living contrary to the will of God, repent now because your most secret sin is open before God. You can also trust in God’s wisdom and omniscience to guide your decisions today and always.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to live transparently before You.

QUOTE: He knows everything about us

CHALLENGE: God knows everything about you.
