Points to Consider
Concept of Building in the Bible
The concept of building in the Bible goes beyond constructing physical structures. It represents the process of establishing lives, families, ministries, character, faith, and society according to God’s will. Building symbolizes growth, stability, spiritual maturity, and divine purpose.
In Scripture, God is portrayed as the ultimate builder, while believers are called to cooperate with Him in building their spiritual lives, homes, and communities.
1. Meaning of Building in the Biblical Context
Biblically, building refers to:
Establishing something on a solid foundation
Developing spiritual character and faith
Strengthening homes and relationships
Advancing God’s kingdom
Edifying the Church and believers
The Bible uses physical construction as a metaphor for spiritual development.
Key Scripture
“Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it.” — Psalm 127:1
This verse teaches that every successful building—whether family, ministry, career, or nation—must have God as its foundation.
2. God as the Master Builder
The Bible presents God as the architect and builder of life.
Hebrews 11:10
“For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”
This passage shows that God designs eternal purposes and establishes lasting foundations.
Spiritual Explanation
Human efforts without God are temporary.
Divine building produces permanence and stability.
God builds lives according to His eternal plan.
3. Building on a Solid Foundation
One major biblical principle is that every building needs a proper foundation.
Jesus Christ as the Foundation
1 Corinthians 3:11
“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
Explanation
Christ is the only secure spiritual foundation.
Lives built on worldly values collapse easily.
Faith, family, ministry, and destiny must rest on Chri

Glorious Sunday Service

Sermon
Preacher: Pastor Adekunle Adeniyi
Topic: Who Art Thou?

Notes
The Three Segments of the Condition of Man or God's Judgment on Sin
(May 13–16, 2024)
1. John 3:2
Theme: Judgment on Sin
2. The Condition of Man
(a) Knowledge of God
(b) Rejection of God
(c) Civilization
Genesis 3:1-10
Civilization began in Mesopotamia (Modern-day Iraq, Kuwait, and Syria) around 4000 BC.
Ancient Egypt 3100 BC.
1. The Question
God speaks more of a condition than a place where Adam was. God knows where Adam is (all eye).
God was trying to bring him back from where sin had sunk him. (Gen 3:9)
2. God was trying to make
Adam to face the condition where we really are. Intellectually, morally, spiritually.
3. God realized
It is present. Adam to avoid him (Gen 3:8).
4. God forces us to face where we really are
Intellectually, morally, "trees" a place of excuse.
5. God addresses
The true nature of our sin and rebellion against Him.
6. Not just an action but violation of God's law and our created purpose. (Gen 3:11)
Continuation (May 15–16)
7. God pronounces judgment on sin
Conflict, Suffering, Death, Pain, Toil, Futility of man's efforts apart from God. (Gen 3:14ff)
7. God provides a way out
The Seed of the woman who would bruise the serpent's head. (Gen 3:15)
8. Through Adam, all are condemned to sin, but through Jesus Christ, we are a life for God. (Rom 5:12-21? / 1 Cor 15:22)
10. We must come out of our hiding places and cry out to God for mercy. He will receive all who come to Him. (Gen 3:11-12)
