TOPIC: CONFIDENCE IN GOD



SCRIPTURE: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hebrews 11:6.



THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Faith thrives where confidence in God exists.



Faith is not complete without confidence in God. A major ingredient of faith is confidence or trust in God. Faith works where man’s confidence or trust is placed in God.



No wonder, our anchor Scripture says, He that cometh to God must believe that He is… That means the person must be confident in God.

Many people subconsciously suspect God. Some wonder if God truly loves everyone equally. Others feel God may favour some people above others. Some even question whether following God truly pays.

That is why, many times, faith confessions by some people do not produce results. Deep inside their heart, there is an element of suspicion and uncertainty. Some people even say, “I know people who served God all their lives and ended miserably. Maybe my own case will be like that.” God forbid!

But we do not live by the experiences of people; we live by the revelations of the Word of God. Let every devil and every negative experience be a lie but let God and His Word be true.

What then are the areas where we must have confidence in God?

Confidence in the reality and realness of God.
You must believe that God is real and that He truly exists.

Confidence in the reliability and dependability of God.
God is reliable and dependable. He can be trusted. He does not say one thing and mean another.

iii. Confidence in the integrity of God.

God is stable and unchanging. Scripture says, I am the Lord, I change not. Malachi 3:6

Confidence in the love and mercifulness of God.
If you struggle to believe in His power, at least believe in His love – John 3:16; Romans 8:32. God is too merciful to abandon His people in their mess.

Confidence in the omnipotence and ability of God – Jeremiah 32:27.

God is capable of doing what no man can do. There is nothing impossible for Him.

Beloved, confidence in God is what silences fear, doubt, and uncertainty. When you truly trust Him, you can rest in His faithfulness regardless of circumstances. He is too faithful to fail and too dependable to disappoint you.



REMEMBER THIS: Faith thrives where confidence in God exists.



ASSIGNMENT(S):

Reject every form of doubt and suspicion towards God.
Meditate daily on Scriptures that reveal God’s faithfulness and character.
Make up your mind to trust God completely regardless of circumstances.


PRAYER: Father, deliver me from every form of doubt and suspicion towards You. Help me to trust in Your love, integrity, ability, and faithfulness, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
