Topic: Onward Christian Soldiers
Text: Philippians 3: 7-14
β Who is a Christian?
Β° A new creature who is now in Christ has surrendered his/her life to Him, is washed in the Blood of the Lamb, and is now completely new.
2 Corinthians 5: 17
Β° A soldier of Christ is someone chosen by Christ.
To be born again, you must have been chosen by Christ. John 6: 44
Β° If you gave your life to Jesus Christ, it is because God must have drawn you to Himself.
β The moment you become born again, you are drafted into the army. John 15: 16
Β° If you are a child of God, you are chosen to be a soldier of Christ. 2 Timothy 2: 3-4
Β° You don't volunteer to be a soldier in the army of Christ; He chooses you.
Β° Once you become a genuine child of God, you are no longer a civilian but a soldier in the army of Christ.
Β° Once you become a soldier in the army of Christ, He will take you through training - a boot camp. 2 Timothy 2: 3-4
The difference between a civilian and a soldier:
Β€ A soldier has been toughened, and then they become warriors.
β Our Commander-in-Chief is the One called the Lord of hosts. Psalm 24: 7-10
Β° He is strong, so strong that He doesn't get tired. Isaiah 40: 28-31
Β° He is mighty; He is the Almighty. Jeremiah 32: 27
Β° He is not just mighty, He is mighty in battle. Exodus 15:3
Β° He is the Lord of hosts; hosts on land, in the air, and in the sea.
Philippians 2: 10
γ In the air, there is no soldier like Him. Joshua 10: 1-11
γ On land, there is no soldier like Him. Numbers 16: 23-34
γ On sea, there is no fighter like Him.
Exodus 14: 21-28
'Onward Christian Soldier' means:
1. From now on in your life, it must be forward ever. Exodus 14: 1-18
Β° As a Christian solider, you need to know that you must never run from the enemy.
Β° In the armour of God, there is no provision for your back because you are never to run away from the enemy. Ephesians 6: 10-18
2. Forward ever - don't stop moving. Keep moving forward. Joshua 6: 20
If you come to a mountain, you are not to turn back. You are to move the mountain. Mark 11: 23-24
Declare:
I am a soldier of Christ, every mountain blocking my way, move tonight!

ππ» Forward ever
ππ» No stopping
ππ» No surrender
ππ» No compromise
ππ» No truce with the enemy

Why must we keep marching forward?
Β° There is a goal ahead. 2 Timothy 4: 6-8
There is a crown waiting for us.
How do you know a true Christian soldier?
1. The lifestyle of a true Christian soldier is a lifestyle of praise. Psalm 34:1
Β° A soldier of Christ never grumbles but always praises God.
Β° You can hardly find someone who got a breakthrough who hadn't worshipped God first.
2. The lifestyle of a Christian soldier is a lifestyle of prayer. 1 Thessalonians 5: 17
3. A Christian soldier lives a lifestyle of power.
Β° A Christian soldier is not a weakling.
Β° The One Who has called you has empowered you. Mark 3: 13-15
Β° Use the power you have received to heal and cast out demons.
Β° Until you begin to make use of the power, you might not realise you have the power.
4. The lifestyle of a Christian soldier is a lifestyle of faith.
Β° God honours faith.
Β° Stop being a doubter. Be a man/woman of faith.
5. The lifestyle of the Christian soldier is a lifestyle of discipline. 2 Corinthians 11: 27
6. The lifestyle of a Christian soldier is a lifestyle of joy. Nehemiah 8: 10
Β° It is a lifestyle of joy because it is a life of hope. Joel 2: 26-27
Β° It is a lifestyle of joy because you have assurance of divine help. Psalm 59: 14-15
Not only do you have the assurance of help from God, but the help will come instantly. Psalm 46: 1-3
With Jesus, there are no protocols to access His presence.
Nobody is dragging you out of His presence.
In His presence is the fullness of joy. John 16: 24
