*SATURDAY, 16 MAY*
*TEXT: EPHESIANS 3:1-13*
*TOPIC: MYSTERY OF CHRIST REVEALED*

*EPHESIANS 3:1-13 (NIV)*

1:For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles—

2:Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you,

3:that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly.

4:In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,

5:which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets.

6:This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.

7:I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power.

8:Although I am less than the least of all God’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

9:and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.

10:His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,

11:according to his eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.

12:In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

13:I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory.

*MYSTERY OF CHRIST REVEALED*

The opening words "for this reason" in v. 1 is a reference to what he has discussed in chapter 2:11-22. Here, Paul spoke of the mystery of Christ that God revealed that “...the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the Promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel” [v6].

Notice he said "of the same body" to emphasise breaking down Walls and building bridges, which now brought the Jew and gentiles together as one in Christ. All these are made possible through the sacrificial death of Christ, [1:3ff].

Today this new body is formed, the Church, has become the instrument that God use to "bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God, [vs.9-10]. Nobody has any excuse not to accept the life God offers in Christ to the world.

*QUESTION:* Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior?

*PRAYER:* If not, I ask that you open your heart to Him now, confess your sins and accept Him as Lord and savior. If yes, then ask him to strengthen you more with power and wisdom to explain this mystery to those who do not know him.

*MONDAY, 4 MAY*
*TEXT JUDGES 19:23-30*
*TOPIC: THE LEVITE RESPONDED TO GIBEAH'S WICKEDNESS*

*JUDGES 19:23-30 [NIV]*

23: The owner of the house went outside and said to them, “No, my friends, don’t be so vile. Since this man is my guest, don’t do this disgraceful thing.

24: Look, here is my virgin daughter, and his concubine. I will bring them out to you now, and you can use them and do to them whatever you wish. But to this man, don’t do such a disgraceful thing.”

25: But the men would not listen to him. So the man took his concubine and sent her outside to them, and they r***d her and abused her throughout the night, and at dawn they let her go.

26: At daybreak the woman went back to the house where her master was staying, fell down at the door and lay there until daylight.

27: When her master got up in the morning and opened the door of the house and stepped out to continue on his way, there lay his concubine, fallen in the doorway of the house, with her hands on the threshold.

28: He said to her, “Get up; let’s go.” But there was no answer. Then the man put her on his donkey and set out for home.

29: When he reached home, he took a knife and cut up his concubine, limb by limb, into twelve parts and sent them into all the areas of Israel.

30: Everyone who saw it said, “Such a thing has never been seen or done, not since the day the Israelites came up out of Egypt. Think about it! Consider it! Tell us what to do!”

*THE LEVITE RESPONDED TO GIBEAH'S WICKEDNESS*

Today's text provides the reason why the good hearted old man insisted that the Levite and his entourage should never sleep out in the town square: There were mem in Gibeah who were homosexuals who would do anything to r**e any visiting male.

As soon as the news of the Levite and his team's arrival spread around town, these evil men quickly surrounded the old man's house, demanding to r**e the Levite and his servant.

The old man surrendered the Levite's concubine, who was r***d to death! The Levite acted in a manner to have the twelve tribes of Israel respond.

He did this by cutting the dead concubine's body into twelve pieces and sending them to all twelve tribes for instant action.

It has been said that desperate times often require desperate measures; this is what the Levite called Israel to.

*QUESTION:* What desperate situations have you found yourself in the past few months, and how did you respond?

*PRAYER:* God, give me wisdom to know what to do when I am in a desperate situation for Your glory, in Jesus' name. Amen.

*WEDNESDAY, 15 APRIL*
*TEXT: JUDGES 11:12-27*
*TOPIC: THE LAND BELONGS TO GOD!*

*JUDGES 11:12-27 (NIV)*

12: Then Jephthah sent messengers to the Ammonite king with the question: “What do you have against us that you have attacked our country?”

13: The king of the Ammonites answered Jephthah’s messengers, “When Israel came up out of Egypt, they took away my land from the Arnon to the Jabbok, all the way to the Jordan. Now give it back peaceably.”

14: Jephthah sent back messengers to the Ammonite king,

15: saying: “This is what Jephthah says: Israel did not take the land of Moab or the land of the Ammonites.

16: But when they came up out of Egypt, Israel went through the desert to the Red Sea and on to Kadesh.

17: Then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, ‘Give us permission to go through your country,’ but the king of Edom would not listen. They sent also to the king of Moab, and he refused. So Israel stayed at Kadesh.

18: “Next they traveled through the desert, skirted the lands of Edom and Moab, passed along the eastern side of the country of Moab, and camped on the other side of the Arnon. They did not enter the territory of Moab, for the Arnon was its border.

19: “Then Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, who ruled in Heshbon, and said to him, ‘Let us pass through your country to our own place.’

20: Sihon, however, did not trust Israel to pass through his territory. He mustered all his men and encamped at Jahaz and fought with Israel.

21: “Then the Lord, the God of Israel, gave Sihon and all his men into Israel’s hands, and they defeated them. Israel took over all the land of the Amorites who lived in that country,

22: capturing all of it from the Arnon to the Jabbok and from the desert to the Jordan.

23: “Now since the Lord, the God of Israel, has driven the Amorites out before his people Israel, what right have you to take it over?

24: Will you not take what your god Chemosh gives you? Likewise, whatever the Lord our God has given us, we will possess.

25: Are you better than Balak son of Zippor, king of Moab? Did he ever quarrel with Israel or fight with them?

26: For three hundred years Israel occupied Heshbon, Aroer, the surrounding settlements and all the towns along the Arnon. Why didn’t you retake them during that time?

27: I have not wronged you, but you are doing me wrong by waging war against me. Let the Lord, the Judge, decide the dispute this day between the Israelites and the Ammonites.”

*THE LAND BELONGS TO GOD!*

Jephthah, After accepting the elders' request to lead Israel against the Ammonites, questioned the Ammonites King about his claim that Israel took his land.

The king demanded its return, but Jephthah reminded him that it was God who gave that land to Israel after removing it from the Amorites [v.23].

He highlighted that Israel has lived there for over 300 years without any challenge.

Every believer belongs to God, who protects them from anyone else's claims.

*QUESTION:* Whose are you?

*PRAYER:* hallelujah, I have become God's heritage in Christ Jesus. Thank you, my God and Father. Amen.
