"The pulpit is not a platform for personal preferences, private agendas, or individual opinions. It is a sacred trust from God, entrusted to His servants for the faithful proclamation of His Word. When personal desires overshadow divine truth, the Church is weakened; but when Christ and Scripture remain central, the pulpit fulfills its holy purpose of transforming lives and glorifying God."

On Pentecost Sunday 2026, at the Anglican Church of Redemption, Sheffield, the congregation reflected on the theme, *“Holy Spirit: The Source of Empowered Christian Living [The Christian Power-House]”* from Acts 1:8 and Acts 2:1–41. The message emphasised that the Holy Spirit was given among other things to empower believers to be effective witnesses of Jesus Christ. Drawing from Peter’s transformation from a fearful disciple who denied Christ to a bold preacher through whom three thousand people came to faith, the sermon highlighted that true Spirit-empowerment is demonstrated through faithful witness, holy living, courage in the face of opposition, and lasting Kingdom impact. Just as the disciples could not fulfil Christ’s mission in their own strength, Christians today are called to depend on the Holy Spirit, who regenerates, sanctifies, equips, and empowers believers for service. Pentecost reminds us that every Christian is called to be a witness, and every witness needs the power of the Holy Spirit.

You are invited to listen to this uplifting message and be encouraged to seek the fullness of the Holy Spirit and boldly proclaim the wonderful works of God.

❌ THE UNCOMPASSIONATE PERSON ❌

An uncompassionate person is marked by pride, selfishness, deceit, manipulation, and a cold disregard for the feelings and welfare of others. Such a lifestyle is contrary to the character of Christ, who calls His followers to walk in love, mercy, humility, and truth. The uncompassionate heart leaves behind broken relationships, distrust, pain, and spiritual emptiness. Scripture reminds us that believers are to “never tire of doing what is right” (2 Thessalonians 3:13). As Christians, we must eschew every form of cruelty, arrogance, and indifference, and instead cultivate compassion, kindness, and genuine concern for others. Let us reflect the love of Christ in our words, actions, and relationships, choosing goodness over evil and mercy over judgment.

“Never look down on anyone, for you do not know which cloud carries the rain. Be careful how you treat people on your way up, life has a strange way of making you cross the same bridge twice, and the person you once dismissed today may be the very sky you pray to, and the one holding the bridge together when you return tomorrow.”
