MA********ON IS SINFUL...
Corinthians 6:18 (NIV) further confirms this, saying that unlawful s*xual relations defile our own bodies: “Flee from s*xual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins s*xually sins against his own body.”
The Bible commands us to be godly stewards of our bodies and our minds. Godly means acting in accordance with God’s intended design. Such a steward does not practice nor justify the habit of selfish, worldly activities such as ma********on.
How does ma********on affect the one engaged in it and others? Ma********on replaces a healthy s*xual encounter between a husband and wife with selfish behavior meant to gratify only the participant. In God’s design, s*x is for the other spouse. It’s not for oneself. Ma********on is driven by adulterous desire and imagination. If a husband or wife seeks any kind of s*xual gratification involving a lust for another person outside of their marriage bed, they are guilty of adultery. Even if a spouse ma******tes to the thoughts and desires of their own spouse, it’s still sinful because it deprives the other spouse as the rightful recipient (as decreed by God) of s*xual fulfillment.
Scripture tells us to be on guard against s*xual immorality.
1. Ephesians 5:3 But among you there must not be even a hint of s*xual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.
2. 1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body.
3. Colossians 3:5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: s*xual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.
4. 1 Thessalonians 4:3–4 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from s*xual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor.
Scripture teaches us to guard the heart and honor the Lord with our body. Ma********on violates these Scriptures.
5. Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
6. 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been purchased at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.
In ma********on you are coveting and lusting for someone who is not for you. It’s not only hurting you. It’s hurting someone else. It’s treating someone like they are a piece of meat.
7. Exodus 20:17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”
8. Matthew 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
9. Job 31:1 “I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman.”
Any type of s*xual activity is to be within marriage.
10. Genesis 1:22-23 God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.
11. Genesis 2:24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
12. Hebrews 13:4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the s*xually immoral.
11. Genesis 2:24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
Satan finds a way to pervert s*x within marriage, which is good with ma********on.
13. Acts 13:10 “You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord?”
No one can honestly say that they are going to ma******te for the glory of God.
14. 1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
15. Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Ma********ng once can lead to addiction, slavery, and danger. That is why it is essential that you stay away.
16. John 8:34 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.“
It might seem hard, but God has given us the Holy Spirit to help us overcome any addiction.
17. 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
18. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God did not give us a Spirit of fear but of power and love and self-control.
19. John 14:16 “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever.”
If you’re doubting and you still proceed that is sin.
20. Romans 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
Sin grows larger overtime.
21. James 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
22. Matthew 5:29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
23. Matthew 5:30 And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.
24. 1 Corinthians 9:27 No, I keep on disciplining my body, making it serve me so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not somehow be disqualified.
Go to the cross and confess your sins daily. Christ can set you free from anything.
25. 1 John 1:9 If we acknowledge our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from every wrongdoing.
