The Minister's Dependency: Trusting God, Not Man

As ministers of the gospel, we are stewards of God's divine mandate, entrusted with the responsibility of serving His people. It is essential to recognize that our sustenance and provision come from God, not from those we serve. As the Psalmist declares, "My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth" (Psalm 121:2).

While it is true that God often uses people to meet our needs, our focus should remain on Him, not on human resources. Seeking help from men before turning to God can inadvertently convey the message that God is incapable of meeting our needs, which is a falsehood. As ministers, we must be mindful of the impression we give to our congregation.

Enduring Hardship as a Good Soldier of Christ

God is faithful, and His plans for us are always for our good, even in times of hardship (Romans 8:28). As ministers, we must learn to endure hardship, trusting that God is using these experiences to develop and establish us in our faith. The apostle Paul exemplified this mindset, declaring, "I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need" (Philippians 4:11-12).

Trusting God's Provision

As ministers, we must be cautious not to give the impression that God is unable to provide for us. Instead, we should trust in His promise to never leave nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). Our congregation should see us as examples of faith, not as individuals dependent on their support.

Let us heed the apostle Paul's instruction to the Corinthians: "What we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake" (2 Corinthians 4:5). As ministers, our focus should be on serving God and His people, not on seeking personal gain or recognition.

In conclusion, let us remember that our dependency as ministers should be on God, not on man. As we trust in His provision and care, we will be empowered to serve His people with integrity and faithfulness.

The Unwavering Mind of God: A Call to Uncompromising Devotion

We have strayed from the truth. The mind of God has remained unchanged since the beginning of time. He seeks individuals who will unwaveringly carry out His agenda, unadulterated by personal interests. Throughout Jesus' ministry, the people attempted to make Him an earthly king, seeking physical deliverance from Roman rule (John 6:15). However, Jesus, fully attuned to the Father's will, remained resolute in establishing the kingdom of God and fulfilling His assigned mission (Luke 4:43).

Apostle Paul echoed this singular focus, declaring, "For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified" (1 Corinthians 2:2). The issue is not that people lack love for God or desire to fulfill His will; rather, it is that we often fail to relinquish our own interests.

To effectively execute God's will on earth, we must be completely sold out to His purposes. A significant distraction for ministers of Christ – be it preachers, music ministers, or servants – is the allure of human praise, affection, and admiration. The people sought to praise Jesus outside of the Father's will (John 12:13). Imagine the consequences if Jesus had succumbed to their desires, abandoning His heavenly mandate.

As ministers of the gospel and ambassadors of the kingdom, we must recognize that fame and recognition are fleeting. Our paramount mandate is to see the Father's will accomplished on earth through the specific assignments He has entrusted to us (Matthew 6:10). As the apostle Paul cautioned, "For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ" (Galatians 1:10).

May we remain steadfast in our devotion, unwavering in our commitment to the Father's will, and unswayed by the allure of human acclaim.

God bless you.
Remember that He Loves You.

While many individuals recall the emotional high of an encounter or experience, such as the sensations felt during a meeting or the miraculous healings and manifestations, they often neglect to remember the substance of the teaching. They fail to grasp that it is the Word of God, imparted to us by the Holy Spirit, that has the power to recreate and sustain that encounter. Mature believers prioritize the Word above all else, recognizing that it is the very foundation of the transformation and results they desire to see in their lives and the lives of others.

The Bible assures us in Proverbs 23:18, "For surely there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off." This promise highlights the importance of expectation in our walk of faith. As I reflect on why many believers pray without seeing desired results, I realize that their expectation plays a crucial role. Some pray without genuinely expecting answers due to feelings of inadequacy, low self-esteem, or awareness of their shortcomings. Others pray with contradictory expectations, seeking a specific outcome while doubting its possibility.

The book of James addresses this issue in James 1:6-8, "But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do." Similarly, Mark 11:22-26 records Jesus' teaching on faith, starting with the imperative, "Have faith in God." This fundamental principle emphasizes the need to trust in God's divine ability to answer our prayers.

Faith comes by hearing and knowing God's character, as Romans 10:17 states, "Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ." The more we know Him, the more our faith grows. Therefore, when we ask of God, we must believe He can do what we have asked. The key to receiving from God is to believe without doubt, as Hebrews 11:6 reminds us, "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

In essence, the problem lies not with God but with our own double-mindedness, asking without believing or trusting in His divine abilities. As children of God, our role is to trust that He can and will answer our prayers. We must acknowledge Him and His finished works, knowing that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. So, let us ask with confidence, believe without doubt, and expect to receive what we have asked for, remembering that the expectation of the righteous shall not be cut short.

Have you heard from God today? It's essential to make hearing from Him a daily pursuit, not just when we need answers but also when seeking His guidance in every area of our lives.
As Deuteronomy 8:3 reminds us, "He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord."

Similarly, in Luke 4:4, Jesus affirms, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word of God.'"

And in Matthew 4:4, He reiterates, "Jesus answered, 'It is written: "Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'""

Just as our physical bodies are sustained by food, our spirits are nourished by God's Word. As believers, one of the key marks of our faith is our ability to hear God and live according to His instructions.
This is why consistent fellowship with the Holy Spirit is crucial.
As John 16:13-14 explains, "But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you."

Fellowship with the Holy Spirit sharpens our spiritual senses, enabling us to discern when God is speaking and understand what He is saying.
The power of fellowship lies in its consistency. By making it a daily habit to spend time with God through His Spirit, we will experience the difference; the Christian life will become a vibrant reality, not just something we hear about.

Those who do extraordinary things are those who spend time with God. His Word is our source of sustenance, and it is by His Word that we grow into maturity. Therefore, we must make it a daily habit to spend time with the One who brings the Word to us daily.

Imagine living life knowing the outcome of each day, having peace and assurance of God's love and faithfulness on a daily basis. This can only be achieved through fellowship with Him.

God is always speaking, but often we have not built ourselves up enough to discern His voice and understand what He is saying.
As 1 Peter 2:2 encourages us, "Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation."

Fellowship comprises intensive study of God's Word, praying (especially in the Spirit), and meditating on God's Word, which brings us to maturity. So, make up your mind to spend time with God every day. It's not about the amount of time spent but its consistency. Find a rhythm that fits your daily schedule and stick to it; be disciplined.

Human beings were created without limits; the only limitation is self-imposed.
This is the incredible power of human potential - whatever one sets their mind to, they can achieve, unless they choose to give up. Even the forces of nature and life's challenges are merely tests of resolve, designed to strengthen and refine.

My conclusion is this: life will yield to you whatever you focus your heart, mind, and energy on, as long as you persist.
The moment you give up, you restrict yourself, and life is obligated to respect your boundaries.
As the Bible says, "A diligent person will stand before kings and queens, not mere mortals" (Proverbs 22:29).
We see the power of human determination in the story of the Tower of Babel, where it took divine intervention to stop humanity's collective will.
Life will always yield to human determination, as long as we refuse to give up.
