1. Father, thank you for your faithfulness over your Church that is new every morning in Jesus name. Lam.3:22-23.

B. PRAYER OF FORGIVENESS
INDIVIDUAL
1. Father as I confess all my sins, forgive me Oh Lord and cleanse me from all my acts of unrighteousness in Jesus name. 1Joh 1:9 (mention and confess all known sins)
2. Father, have mercy and forgive me of all the sins committed by my parents including those that are not alive in Jesus name. Lam 5:7
3. Father, forgive and wash me clean from all my sins in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ, Act 13:8

1. Father, as we seek your face, have mercy upon your Church and heal us of all our sickness and troubles that our sins had brought upon us. 2 Chron 7:14

1. Father; thank you for being patient towards the Church and not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance by your mercy. 2 Peter 3:9.
2. Father; you are the owner of the Church who keeps covenant, do not forsake or destroy your Church because of your covenant. Deuteronomy 4:31.
3. Father; you are full of compassion, slow to anger and your tender mercies are over all your work: please deliver the Church from the spirit of mammon and the spirit of jezebel. Psalms 145:9, Matthew 6:24

1. Father, we plead for your mercy, as your people. Please forgive us all our sins and trespasses that have made our nation sick. 2 Chr 7:14
2. Father, by your mercies do not let our leaders be misguided; surround them with good advisers in Jesus name. Prov. 11:14.

(LESSON FORTY-NINE)

SUNDAY 6TH AUGUST 2017

TOPIC: THE JUDGMENT

MEMORY VERSE: "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” – Hebrews 9:27

BIBLE PASSAGE: Revelations 20:4-15

INTRODUCTION:

Judgment is imminent. Whether we believe it or not, we are going to give account of all that we do here on earth, whether it be good or bad, righteous or wicked. We will all appear before the One that God has appointed to judge all, Jesus Christ.

LESSON OUTLINES

HOW MANY JUDGMENTS ARE THERE?

The Bible speaks of at least seven different judgments:

1. The Saviour on the cross being judged for our sins (Isaiah 53:3-5).

2. The believers’ self-judgment (1Corinthians 11:31).

3. The judgment of the believers (2Corinthians 5:10-11).

4. The judgment of the nations, when sheep will be separated from goats (Matthew 25:32).

5. The judgment of Israel after the great tribulation (Ezekiel 20:30-44).

6. The judgment of the fallen angels which are reserved in darkness, waiting (Jude 6).

7. The judgment of the wicked dead or the Great White Throne judgment (Revelations 20:11-12, 15).

THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT

The wicked or sinners shall face the white throne judgment (Revelations 21:8; Hebrews 13:4b). This judgment is not to determine whether the wicked will be in Heaven or hell (Revelations 22:15). Rather, it is to seal the eternal destination of the wicked in hell and ultimately the lake of fire (1Corinthians 6:9-10; Ephesians 5:5) because their names are not in the book of life (Revelations 20:13-15). It will be an open and impartial judgment (Matthew 7:21-23). Godless people and those who reject Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord shall face this judgment (John 3:17-18). Fallen angels shall also be judged (2Peter 2:4, Jude 6). Jesus Christ will be the judge. All judgment is committed to Him (Acts 17:31; John 5:22, 27).

CONCLUSION

The great white throne judgment is better imagined than experienced. If you are a believer in Christ, do all you can never to face it.

23:39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

23:40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

23:41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Message:

“Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.” 2 Corinthian 5:11

The reality of an eternity in Hell fire is the reason why we continue to preach relentlessly to people about the need to give their lives to Christ right now! Hell is worse than any kind of suffering ever known to man. It is worse than any World War or nuclear holocaust. It is worse than any type of plague, be it Ebola, HIV, leprosy or the Black Death. It is even worse than death itself. Why, you may ask? If a believer in Christ is tortured to death for his or her faith in Christ, he or she will be in pains for a while, but eventually, the pain will stop and he or she will be taken into glory. Such a fellow would have moved from extreme pain to extreme joy, glory and peace in Heaven. In contrast, anyone who goes to Hell will burn in fire day and night. After burning for a billion years, his or her suffering will just be beginning. Worse still, after the Great White Throne Judgment, the inhabitants of Hell will be moved into the Lake of Fire, where they will go through the worst of torment and will keep burning without being consumed. Revelation 20:14 says,
“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”

Whatever you can do to skip Hell, do it today because nobody knows tomorrow!No religion can save you from Hell. No form of self-righteousness, personal belief or positive thinking can save you either. In fact, John 3:18 says that some people will be banished to Hell not because they do not attend church but because they did not genuinely give their lives to Christ. You have a choice to make here. When the Lord Jesus Christ was being nailed to the cross, two thieves were equally nailed to their own crosses on either side of Him. One of them said to the Lord, “I thought you called yourself a prophet, how come you cannot deliver yourself and deliver us also?” The second thief rebuked him saying, “While on your way to Hell, you are still talking like this?” Then he turned to Jesus and said “Lord, I don’t know if it is still possible, but when You get to Your Kingdom, please remember me.” The first thief chose to go from the cross to Hell, and he got his wish, while the second chose to go from the cross to paradise and it was so. What is your choice today?
