Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. James 3:5-6
Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

Our relationship with one another is important. How we speak to each other as believers says a lot about our level of maturity in God. It is often easier for people to spend time talking to God, yet find it difficult to bridle their tongues when speaking to their fellow human beings.

True spiritual maturity is not only revealed in how we communicate with God but also in how we treat and speak to the people He has placed around us.
