*CAN A CHRISTIAN DRINK ALCOHOL?*

When a European Airline was initially launched, an educated Christian gentleman was traveling in the first class section.
An air hostess approached him with a complimentary drink, this was an alcoholic drink, but the man politely refused.
The air hostess returned but this time brought the drink on a platter, designed to appeal and impress. However, the Christian man again politely refused, explaining he doesn't drink alcohol.
The air hostess was concerned and informed the manager. The manager approached the man with another platter, now designed with flowers. He questioned, “Is there something wrong with our service? Please enjoy the drink, it is a complimentary offer.”
The man replied, “I am a Christian and I do not drink alcohol? The manager still insisted that the man take the drink. Then, the Christian proposed that the manager should give the drink to the pilot first. The manager stated, “How can the pilot drink alcohol, he’s on duty! And if he drinks there are all chances for the plane to crash”.
The Christian passenger with tears in his eyes, replied, *“I am a Christian and I am ALWAYS on duty in order to protect my salvation and if I Drink Alcohol I will crash my whole life here and hereafter. I AM 100% ON DUTY!"*

Maybe yours might not be an alcohol, it may be casual s*x, battling with how to control your anger, Pride, profane and vain babblings, your dressing , your attitude towards people and finally not sharing the Word.

Do you know that souls are dying because of those reckless behaviours of yours?

This is the History of ECWA Youth Fellowship
The ECWA Youth Fellowship (EYF) is the youth arm of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), one of the largest evangelical denominations in Nigeria.

The history of the ECWA Youth Fellowship reflects the broader growth of ECWA and its commitment to raising spiritually vibrant and mission-minded young people.

Here is a summarized history of the ECWA Youth Fellowship:

1. Origins and Early Development

Pre-1960s: As ECWA churches grew, youth involvement in church activities became increasingly necessary. Initially, young people participated informally in church programs, especially choirs and Sunday school.

1960s–1970s: The need for an organized youth ministry became clear. Individual ECWA local churches and districts began forming youth groups to disciple and engage young people.

2. Formal Establishment

1974: The ECWA Youth Fellowship was officially established as a structured national body to coordinate youth ministry across ECWA churches. It aimed to:

Encourage spiritual growth among youths.

Promote missionary interest and service.

Equip young people for leadership and Christian living.

A national leadership structure was created, comprising National, District, DCC (District Church Council), LCC (Local Church Council), and Local Youth Units.

3. Growth and Expansion (1980s–1990s)

EYF spread rapidly through Nigeria, with youth fellowships established in nearly every ECWA church.

Regular activities like Bible study, prayer meetings, drama, outreach, and annual youth weeks became hallmarks of EYF life.

Youth conferences and leadership training camps were introduced to build capacity and unity.

4. Modern Era (2000s–Present)

The fellowship adapted to the challenges of modern youth, integrating ICT, career guidance, and social reform into its programs.

EYF became a launching ground for missions, with many members serving as full-time ECWA missionaries.

Emphasis on holistic discipleship—spiritual, academic, professional, and social development.

5. Structure and Functions

EYF Leadership exists at every level of the church hierarchy—Local, LCC, DCC, and National.

Each level holds Annual Conferences, leadership retreats, and evangelism outreaches.

Core ministries include:

Bible study and discipleship

Youth choir and drama

Evangelism and missions

Leadership training

Social and welfare services

6. Challenges and Impact

EYF has faced challenges such as moral decline in society, peer pressure, and technological distractions.

Yet, it continues to raise Christian leaders, pastors, missionaries, and professionals who influence society.

It remains a vital force in church growth and national transformation through youth involvement

Your character is the real you! Work on the real you. Work on becoming more humble, more forgiving, more polite, more kind, more generous, and more hardworking. Character is what takes you to the top.
