*TOPIC: I'M PRESSING TOWARDS THE MARK*
*TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 3:10-14*
*I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14*.

*Today's topic is so crucial to those who are true followers of Jesus Christ as opposed to merely believing in Him as sent by God without following His principles and precepts that can make us to be more than principalities*

*Note that it is not possible for anyone to press forward in the right direction without really knowing that direction which is Christ Jesus*

*Apostle Paul had known and served the Lord Jesus for many years. However, his yearnings and aspirations were nothing less than knowing the Master, and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His suffering, the aspect that most people don't want to hear or talk about, forgetting that it is only those who suffer with Him that can reign with Him*

*To press forward is not enough, but it has to be towards the prize of serving correctly as we ought to. Understand that prizes from God can come to only those who can bend and stretch themselves for a take-off and up like an aircraft into realms and dimensions in God*

*Understand that to press towards any mark has to be intentional, while counting the cost as there are costs associated with becoming a prize winner*

*Note that the act of "pressing" requires strength and that it is not meant for lazy people and those in their comfort zone*

*Understand the place of honour and of prize is meant for those who are ready to subject/submit themselves to some levels of discipline, noting that it takes discipline to be a true disciple of Christ*

*TOPIC: WITNESSES OF JESUS CHRIST(Pt.2)*
*TEXT: ACTS 1:6-8*
*And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:7-8*

*It is important to know that our availability to become witnesses of Jesus Christ is key to experiencing the power of God in our lives, families, in our Churches, our nation and nations of the world at large*

*God does not demand for our ability but for our availability and when we oblige, He gives us the ability we require for the assignment. Hence, Jesus told the disciples to wait for the promise of the Holy Spirit for them to be fully endued with power from on high before their release into the field for the evangelism and soul winning assignment*

*Understand that the gift and the power of the Holy Spirit is not for a show off or for self aggradisement but for soul winning. However, it is rather unfortunate today that some people who desire this power are not too keen in the real assignment which is the heartbeat of Jesus Christ*

*We must not make the mistake of thinking that the assignment of preaching the gospel to all creatures is meant for only the ordained Ministers of the gospel but for everyone who is a believer and a follower of Jesus Christ. Note that it is one thing to believe in Jesus and another thing entirely to be a follower of His principles and commands to us*

*THINGS TO NOTE*
*You must never be interested in the display of the gifts and power of God in your life for fun while souls are perishing around you*

*How many souls have you won for Christ which you can point to, that are still standing firmly for the Kingdom of God and of His son Jesus Christ?*

*Heavenly Father, I hereby ask for the baptism and impartation of doggedly following your instruction to make the disciples of men for You in Jesus precious name, amen*

*TOPIC: WITNESSES OF JESUS CHRIST(Pt.1)*
*TEXT: ACTS 1:6-8*
*And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. *God created all things for His pleasure amongst which we stand out. Rev. 4:11, but a misplacement of priority is a major problem to deal with if we must be who and what we are wired to be by our Creator*

*From the text above the disciples of Jesus Christ were asking Him the questions that were capable of diverting their attention from what should be their main focus. However, the Master had to put them back on tracks on what their focus should be*

*In response to their curiosity as to the time to restore the kingdom to Israel, He simply told them what to preoccupy their minds with as their present assignment was to receive the power of the Holy Ghost to effectively become WITNESSES unto Him*

*Note that there is no way we can become WITNESSES unto Jesus without the enduement of the power of the Holy Spirit with which to confront and collapse the kingdom of Satan and his cohorts against our lives and assignments. Selah!*

*THINGS TO NOTE*
*Note that v.8 tells of the scope of our representation and operations which is not limited to just our locality but everywhere, beginning from our immediate locality and throughout the whole earth*

*Our lives must bring glory and honour to Christ wherever we are found, and this is what should be our major concern Selah!*

*DECLARATIONS/ IMPARTATION*
*Heavenly Father, I hereby ask that You stir up your spirit in me and set my heart on fire for the fulfillment of my major assignments here on earth in Jesus precious name, amen*

*TOPIC: I NEED YOUR HELP, O LORD*
*TEXT: PSALMS 121*
*My HELP cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. Psalms 121:2*

*It is a major error for any mortal to think that he or she is self sufficient as to be able to take care of all his needs, all by himself, by virtue of his earthly possessions*

*In fact it is an application for disgrace and frustrations for anyone to ever think that he can make things happen on his own without the help of God. Hence, the scripture that says, A man can receive NOTHING except it be given to him from heaven. John 3 :37 while John 15:5 says, For without me, you can do NOTHING*

*It is by the HELP of God that our feet have not been moved from where they are planted, and because He keeps watch over us, He will not sleep nor slumber. It is still God's help that prevents and shields us from the evil in the day and those that operate at night*

*We owe God the duty of appreciating Him for keeping our going out and coming in. Hence, we are to declare His loving kindness in the morning and His faithfulness every night for His protection, preservation, provisions and for supplies. Psalms 92:1&2*

*The day Nebuchadnezzar thought it was by his power or might that he built Babylon was the day he found himself in the midst of animals and as a big ANIMAL he was for that matter until he fully learnt his lesson as a man who could not help himself*

*THINGS TO NOTE*
*Understand that God helps only those who know that they cannot help themselves and hence run to Him for help. Selah!*

*Note that what a man can do without God is called NOTHING. John 15:5*

*TOPIC: LOOKING UNTO JESUS AND NOT UNTO ANY MAN (Pt.3)*
*TEXT: HEBREWS 12:1&2*
*Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2*

*We shall proceed further on the subject of looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith on how we can emulate His attributes while He was on earth*

*Understand that to be able to effectively pattern one's life after Christ requires a deep observation with a keen interest in what He did, how He did those things, and with what motives in mind and all of that*

*Understand that while it is not proper for someone to be angry every time that it is also an error for someone to be laughing and become indifferent in a situation where he needs to be angry with some happenings. For example it was a proper thing when Jesus threw down the tables of the money changers when they turned the Temple into the den of thieves*

*We are to follow the example of Jesus in His commitment to the Kingdom service as seen in John 9:4, 4:31-35*

*The exemplary lifestyle of Jesus in the areas of prayer, soul winning and commitment to the welfare of humanity must be embraced if truly we are looking unto Him*

*THINGS TO NOTE*
*It is not enough to honour Jesus with our lips while our hearts are far from Him*

*Note that He is able to bring to a logical conclusion what He has begun in us if only we can trust and obey Him. If we suffer with Him, we shall also reign with Him. Hallelujah!*

*Heavenly Father, I hereby submit myself to look up to you and to pattern my life after your own glorious life in Jesus precious name, amen*
