The Ayatutu Cultural and Social Development Initiative (AYACASODI) Worldwide has accused the Taraba State Government and the Takum Local Government Chairman-elect, Hon. Bako Benjamin of sponsoring genocidal attacks on Tiv people in the Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by its National President, Chief Timothy Baaki, the group condemned in the strongest terms the ongoing genocidal attacks and ethnic cleansing targeted at the Tiv people of Taraba State, particularly in Takum Local Government Area.

Baaki expressed concern over the current wave of attack where armed Fulani herdsmen and Jukun militia elements continue to massacre innocent Tiv men, women, and children.

“AYACASODI Worldwide holds the Taraba State Government and Hon. Bako Benjamin, the newly declared Chairman of Takum LGA under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), responsible for these atrocities.

“Hon. Bako is known for his open hatred, inflammatory remarks, and consistent false accusations against the Tiv ethnic group, statements that have directly fueled hate, division, and coordinated attacks against Tiv people.

” His emergence as council chairman has emboldened the perpetrators, turning Takum into a killing field on the Tiv people.

“Similarly, AYACASODI Worldwide also accuses the Chairman of Wukari Local Government Area, the Governor’s hometown, of complicity in the mass displacement of Tiv people from their ancestral lands.

“Over 90% of the Tiv population in Wukari have been forcefully displaced, their homes and farmlands destroyed, and their communities reduced to ruins.

“Reliable reports suggest that vast portions of land belonging to Tiv families are being illegally shared among sponsors and collaborators of these heinous acts, a clear indication of ethnic cleansing disguised as political and communal conflict.

“We categorically state that what is happening in Taraba State meets the clear definition of genocide as

AYACASODI WORLDWIDE PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO CATHOLIC BISHOP OF KATSINA-ALA DIOCESE

On Thursday, January 9, 2025, a delegation from Ayatutu Cultural and Social Development Initiative (AYACASODI) Worldwide paid a courtesy visit to His Lordship, Most Rev. Isaac Bundepuun Dugu, Catholic Bishop of Katsina-Ala Diocese, at the Diocese's Cathedral in Katsina-Ala, Benue State.

Led by National Publicity Secretary, Capt. Orga Chianen Peter, the delegation expressed gratitude to the Bishop for his remarkable work, which has significantly improved security in the Sankera axis of Benue State. They briefed the Bishop on AYACASODI's efforts to promote the Tiv Nation's welfare and its readiness to do more.

The visit sparked intensive discussions on ways to enhance the Tiv Nation's prosperity across the country. The Bishop expressed appreciation for AYACASODI's recognition and pledged to collaborate with the organization to achieve a prosperous Tiv Nation.

On behalf of Ayatutu Cultural and Social Development Initiative (AYACASODI) Worldwide, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Tiv Nation, the people of Northern Nigeria, and the entire nation of Nigeria on the passing of an eminent elder statesman, a Nigerian patriot, a philanthropist, bridge builder, social entrepreneur, policy adviser, Wantaregh Paul Iyorpuu Unongu Kwaghngise Anure (OFR).

Wantaregh Unongu was a beacon of wisdom, a selfless leader, and a dedicated servant of our great nation. His remarkable career spanned various roles, including Minister of Steel Development in the Second Republic, Chairman of the Northern Elders Forum, pioneer Secretary General of the Nigerian People's Party and co-founder of the Community of Tiv Students (CTS). In 1975 he was among the 50 distinguished Nigerians selected by Gen. Murtala Muhammad to draft a befitting constitution for Modern Nigeria, while in 1994, he was a member of Nigeria's Constitutional Conference, where he served as Chairman of the States Creation Committee.

Throughout his life, Wantaregh Unongu worked tirelessly to promote unity, development, and justice. His unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of his people will forever be an inspiration to us all.

In this moment of loss, we pray for comfort for his family, the Tiv Nation, and everyone mourning this great icon. May his legacy of service, integrity, and patriotism continue to guide us, and may his soul rest in perfect peace.

The National President of Ayatutu Cultural and Social Development Initiative (AYACASODI) Worldwide, *Chief Baaki Timothy*, has expressed profound appreciation to His Lordship, Bishop Isaac Bundepuun Dugu, the Catholic Bishop of Katsina-Ala Diocese, and his dedicated team for their unwavering efforts to restore peace, security, and stability in the Sankera region. In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media to the National President, Comr. Peter Achibo, the National President noted that the recent successes witnessed in Ukum, Logo, and Katsina-Ala Local Government Areas (LGAs) are a testament to the committee's commitment and sacrifices toward rebuilding our beloved community, which has been devastated by years of insecurity and banditry.

According to the statement: "Under the able leadership of His Lordship, and with the support of the esteemed committee members, including Rev. Amb. N.A. Adule JP, President of NKST Worldwide; Major General John Malu (Rtd); Major General Myam (Rtd); and other distinguished clergymen, traditional and community leaders, significant strides have been made in restoring calm and fostering a safe environment.
