FECA Garki

FECA Garki Intimacy with God. Thursdays 2pm - 4pm and Fridays 2pm - 4pm This is the Federation of colleges Ex-students' Christian Association (FECA). ii. iii.

This is an association of ex-students registered in Nigeria with the Cooperate Affairs Commission (registration number: IT.28858). We are concerned with helping young secondary school leavers and undergraduates of the Universities in Nigeria achieve their goals and prospects in life through teaching and training them by means of organising workshops and seminars. We believe that knowledge is power

and by equipping the students with the right knowledge they need, they will have the power to carry out their plans in achieving their
determined destiny in life. Experience has shown us that a man is challenged more when someone of his social status challenges him than someone who is of different status. Since we are a body of youth and young school leavers we are convinced that we are just the right persons to do the job. We are the only association in Nigeria now that is registered with the CAC that draws its membership from secondary schools leavers and undergraduate -teaching them basic principles of life, social responsibility and above all spiritual integrity. We also organise programmes in Vocational Schools, Seminars for people who cannot get into any social establishment. Our Vision:

To unite and follow up born again Christian colleges ex-students in Nigeria. To encourage the faith of those still in school. To reach out to those not yet saved. To reach out to youths all over the country. It is embodied in a statement "to redeem the desolation of our Land and Generation". It is our conviction that the ruins of our land (Nigeria) and generation can be rebuilt. The scope of the vision is not only spiritual, but also embraces physical, mental, social, psychological and financial areas. This vision has crossed over 23 states with over 80 chapters planted. Presently, outdoor and indoor outreaches are regularly being organized in schools to reach out to both the saved and unsaved. We engage in the following to fulfill the vision:

i. Weekly fellowship meetings to build up and teach members. Outreach programmes: These outreaches take different forms such as academic seminars, talents development programmes/career talks, soul saving campaigns and nation development. Conventions, which serve to further unite the members and engrave the vision in their hearts. Our Goal:
Redeeming the desolation of our land and generation. Our Objectives:
The renewing of the mindset. The bugging false and inaccurate ideologies. Setting of true principles and right knowledge. Establishing of set principles. Our Motto:
Keep the vision burning. OUR RELEVANCE IN NIGERIA
FECA is born to redeem this desolation, to build the ancient ruins that have lain desolate for many years now. We are alive to give the youths a direction, to make them place value on their existence and enhance their ability to contribute tangibly towards the development of this nation.

TODAY WE WILL TALK ABOUT BLOOD CLOTS IN DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE BODY

Blood Clots can form in different parts of your body, and when they do, they can lead to serious and life-threatening problems.

Certain areas are more dangerous than others, and preventing clots is essential for staying healthy.

AREAS OF CONCERN:

*BRAIN (Stroke)

A blood clot in the brain, known as an ischemic stroke, cuts off the blood supply to part of the brain.

Without blood flow, brain cells begin to die within minutes. This can result in weakness on one side of the body, difficulty speaking, or even loss of consciousness.

Stroke can leave you with permanent disability or even be fatal.

PREVENTION TIPS

- Keep your blood pressure in check; hypertension is the leading cause of stroke.

- Stop smoking, as it damages blood vessels and makes clots more likely.

- Manage high cholesterol through diet and medication if necessary to prevent clots from forming.

- Exercise regularly to keep blood flowing and reduce clot risk.

- If you have irregular heartbeat, follow your doctor's advice, as it can lead to clots in your brain.

*HEART (Heart Attack)

When a blood clot forms in the arteries supplying the heart (coronary arteries), it blocks the flow of oxygen-rich blood, causing a heart attack.
This can lead to chest pain, breathlessness, and if not treated quickly, sudden death.

PREVENTION TIPS

- Eat a heart-healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats like olive oil.

- Control your blood pressure and cholesterol levels to prevent clots.

- If you have diabetes, keep your blood sugar levels stable as high levels increase the risk of clotting.

- Stay physically active, at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise, like walking, most days of the week.

- Reduce your stress, long-term stress can affect your heart and blood vessels.

*LUNGS (Pulmonary embolism)

A blood clot that travels to the lungs is known as a pulmonary embolism.
This can happen if a clot forms in another part of the body, such as the legs, and travels to the lungs.

It blocks blood flow in the lungs, making it hard to breathe and putting strain on the heart. This can be fatal if not treated quickly 🥲

PREVENTION TIPS

- Avoid sitting for long periods, especially during long trips. Move around or stretch your legs to keep blood flowing.

- Drink water, as dehydration thickens the blood and increases clot risk.

- Wear compression socks if you are at risk for DVT, as they help improve blood flow in the legs.

- If you are recovering from surgery or have a long hospital stay, follow your doctor’s recommendations for clot prevention, like taking blood thinners 👍🏼

*LEGS (Deep Vein Thrombosis)

Clots often form in the deep veins of the legs, which can be very dangerous if they break loose and travel to the lungs (pulmonary embolism).

DVT causes leg pain, swelling, and tenderness, but sometimes there are no symptoms.

PREVENTION TIPS

- Sitting still for long periods, such as during long flights or car rides, increases the risk of clots. Stand up, stretch, and move your legs every couple of hours.

- drink plenty of water, especially during a travel or in hot weather.

- Avoid tight clothing that restricts blood flow to your limbs

- If you are at high risk (due to pregnancy, surgery, or other conditions), talk to your doctor about using blood thinners or wearing compression stockings.

KIDNEYS (Renal Vein Thrombosis)

Clots in the veins of the kidneys can cause sudden, sharp pain in the side or back, blood in the urine, and reduced kidney function. If ignored can lead to kidney failure.

PREVENTION TIPS

- Manage conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes, which increase the risk of kidney damage and clot formation.

- Proper fluid intake supports kidney function and reduces the chance of clots.

- Avoid overuse of certain medications like painkillers that can affect the kidneys over time.

Your health is in your hands! Ensure you walk often, eat very well, stay hydrated and vigilant to prevent blood clots from forming.
