*STRENGTH IN SEASONS OF WEARINESS*
SUNDAY, MAY 24, 2026
PASTOR MARTINS OMONUA
*ISAIAH 49:4–5 (BBE)* “And I said, I have undergone weariness for nothing, I have given my strength for no purpose or profit: but still the Lord will take up my cause, and my God will give me my reward. And now, says the Lord, who made me his servant when I was still in my mother’s body, so that I might make Jacob come back to him, and so that Israel might come together to him: and I was honoured in the eyes of the Lord, and my God became my strength.”
*KEYWORD:* What may look like delay today can become a testimony of His faithfulness in due season.
Sometimes, we find ourselves in seasons where it feels as though the Lord is silent and help seems far from us. We feel weak, frustrated, tired, and discouraged. At such moments, it may seem as though everything we have labored for is producing little in comparison to what we have invested. Time, energy, resources, and sincere labor of love may have been poured out repeatedly, and then the enemy begins to whisper subtle lies to the heart. His voice often comes through discouraging thoughts, suggesting that you should give up.
You may hear within yourself, “You have tried enough. Perhaps it is time to stop. Maybe this is not the path for you.” These thoughts are designed to disconnect you from purpose. The enemy often uses seasons of delay, moments when you feel unappreciated, and the absence of immediate results as opportunities to sow discouragement and weariness, especially in the life of a believer who is genuinely serving the Lord. But at every point in time, you must discern that this is not the voice of God.
Look again at the opening scripture. Even in the place of weariness, the prophet shifted his focus and declared, “but still the Lord will take up my cause, and my God will give me my reward.” This is the mindset of faith.
When you remember that God is the One who called you, and that He fully understands all that your assignment requires, you will not easily surrender to discouragement. God does not abandon those who labour with Him in the fulfillment of His purpose. If you also remember that it is not in God’s nature to forsake His own, then like the prophet, you will come to a settled conviction that says, “my God will give me my reward.”
That confidence is not built on circumstances, but on the faithfulness of God. In this season where many are growing weary, I encourage you to remain steadfast. The same God who called you will strengthen you. What may look like delay today can become a testimony of His faithfulness in due season. He will sustain you, establish His purpose through your life, and give strength for every season. Do not give up. Your strength is being renewed in Him daily. Glory to God!
*PRAYER:*
Dear Lord, thank You for this reminder that You see me and You are mindful of all I do for Your kingdom. Strengthen my heart not to turn away in weariness. Help me to hold on until the manifestation of Your reward in my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
