ECWA Theme: Keep Your Lamps Burning

“Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning.” — Luke 12:35
The theme “Keep Your Lamps Burning” is a timely call to spiritual alertness, faithfulness, and unwavering devotion to God. In a world filled with distractions, weariness, and compromise, Jesus reminds His followers to remain prepared, watchful, and fully committed to their walk with Him.
A burning lamp represents a life that is alive in the Spirit—filled with prayer, obedience, holiness, and love for God. It speaks of consistency, not just moments of excitement. To keep our lamps burning means to continually depend on the Holy Spirit, allowing His fire to sustain our faith even in challenging seasons. Just as a lamp needs oil to keep shining, believers must daily seek God through His Word, prayer, and fellowship.
This theme also emphasizes readiness for the coming of Christ. Jesus calls us to live as servants who are always prepared for their Master’s return. Our lamps must not go out through spiritual laziness, sin, or neglect of our calling. Instead, we are to shine as lights in our families, churches, communities, and nation—reflecting Christ through our character and actions.
As ECWA, “Keep Your Lamps Burning” challenges us to renew our passion for God, remain steadfast in faith, and be actively engaged in His service. May our lives continually glow with the fire of the Holy Spirit, bringing hope, truth, and salvation to the world until Christ returns.
