In 1992, a gay guy known as Russell escaped from Harris County Jail, to take care of his partner (Jim Kemple) who was dying of AIDS.

He escaped by impersonating a prison's guard. He diligently observed the prison’s guards, got a t-shirt and some red sweat pants and stole a Walkie Talkie. He walked out of the prison just like that— the guards thought he was an undercover police officer. He spent 2 years on the run with his partner before he was eventually apprehended again by the police. His partner died while he was in prison.

While still prison in May 1996, his pending trial was a 45-year sentence for theft and his bail was set at $900,000. Afraid to spend 45 years in prison, Russell impersonated a judge. Pretending to be the judge, he called the district clerk’s office and reduced his bail amount to $45,000. He was freed on that bail and he fled. He was caught three days later.

5 months later, he plotted his third escape and it was successful. He walked out the prison’s front door dressed as a doctor and pretending to be one. He pulled that off successfully by using water and Magic Marker pen to dye his prison clothes to green. He fled to Mississippi but was arrested ten days later.

Russell’s fourth and final escape from prison in 1998 was even more elaborate and well planned. He falsified his medical records, intentionally lost a huge amount of weight and faked the symptoms of someone dying of late stage AIDS.

The Prison's authority believed he was truly dying of AIDS so they admitted him to a nearby hospice on parole. While in the hospital, Russell called the hospice from an internal phone, and then pretended to be a doctor specialising in experimental AIDS treatment. He had himself taken away from the centre to take part in a fictitious AIDS treatment. He later declared himself dead. He was free again.

He was later caught and given a 144-year sentence.

Trust the reflection 🪞

There is a level of confidence a woman gets after looking into the mirror that last time before going out.
When she looks into the mirror, she is certain her make-up is in order, she is certain her mascara and eyelashes look exactly how she intends them to be...

Then she trusts that reflection so much that subconsciously she feels so highly and confident of herself.

If a physical mirror could be so reliable and accurate, what about the spiritual mirror?

Well let's look at what 2 corinthians 3:18 says;
"But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord."

James 1:23-25 makes us understand that our spiritual mirror is God's word.

When you look at the physical mirror, you see a reflection of the existing reality, but when you look at the spiritual mirror (God's word), you are being transformed into the same image the mirror reflects.

For example, if you have a lump on your back, if you check it with the physical mirror, you will see the lump and the mirror is of no benefit except to show you the 'real' image but if you look at the spiritual mirror (God's word) and you see "by His stripes you are healed", that is your reflection, then as you act out what you see, you start to become what you see and in no time the lump will disappear.

But this is where we have a problem... when we look into the physical mirror, we completely trust it and we even allow the reflection to define our personality sometimes but we struggle most times to trust the spiritual mirror (God's word) because we don't seem to see or perceive its reflection in the sense realm.

What we forget is that things that are seen are made from things that we don't see. And things that are visible are temporal (including sickness and poverty) but things in the mirror (i.e that are not perceived in the sense realm) are eternal.

This is why the scripture asks us to FIRST "believe(TRUST) that we have received, THEN we shall receive what we ask for"

TRUST THE REFLECTION (God's word) and you will be transformed into that which you behold.

Be very wise in this life o.

When you are always quick to open your mouth and tell your friends all your problem because you're the talking type but they give you the impression there's nothing about themselves to talk about because they are the quiet type, you're setting up yourself for much betrayals, back stabbing and severe pain.

You are always open and unashamed in their midst but they wear "agbada, three piece suit and bullet proof vest" around you, and you still don't know you're just the object of ridicule and the subject of their gossip entertainment.

Do yourself a favor and learn to be discreet.

To those who are indeed deserving of the secrets of your life, speak, but to those who only want to know about you so that they can trade in the market of gossip and evil speaking, you really don't owe them any information.

Relationship/marriage is best defined as a TEAM WORK where the two partner join hands together to build up a family with strong foundation that will not collapse.

In building a family there are some things that is involve. I believe you know that you are not getting married to a saint nor a perfect person who is without flaws. In this journey, you and your partner are going to exhibit your flaws, make so many mistakes, there will be a lot of mood swings, misunderstandings and arguments. Sometimes you can easily forgive each other while sometimes it's going to take days with different dramas.

When you are fully aware of what you are into and you know the marriage is not more important to your partner than you nor are you doing your partner a favour by agreeing to get married to them, then you understand that marriage is a team work. You will put in your best to see your marriage grow stronger.

In marriage, there is no gender role .
You fix yourself where you think that needs you. Sometimes the situations changes, as a wife when you see yourself in the situation where your husband can no longer meet up with the family's need and the family now depends on your financial support or where you need to assist your husband financially for the progress of your family, you shouldn't see it as if you're doing your husband a favour.
Or as husband you finds yourself in the situation of taking care of the kids or helping with the house chores, you shouldn't see it as if you are doing your wife a favour.

The family is yours and your goal is to contribute to it's progress. Don't allow the family feel your vacuum. Be the best father to your kids, be the best mother to your kids and be the best helping mate to your partner.
