DO NOT LET PRESENT CHALLENGES CONVINCE YOU THAT HE IS ABSENT.
The enemy knows the value of this assurance. That is why one of his greatest assignments is to attack your heart. He wants to replace confidence with doubt. He wants to whisper questions into your mind until you begin to wonder whether God has forgotten you.
He will cause you to compare your life with the lives of others. He will remind you of every unanswered prayer. He will point to every delay. He will magnify every disappointment. He will make you question why others seem to receive breakthroughs while your own situation appears unchanged. He will fill your thoughts with questions like, "Why is my case different?" or "Has God forgotten me?"
You must recognize these thoughts for what they are. They are attacks against your assurance. Assurance lives in the heart, but doubt begins in the mind. The enemy knows that if he can corrupt your thinking, he can weaken your confidence in God. Never allow that to happen. Guard your heart carefully. Refuse to let your circumstances determine what you believe about God. Do not allow temporary delays to redefine His character.
Do not let present challenges convince you that He is absent. Hold firmly to your assurance, even when your eyes cannot yet see the answer. The enemy will preach sermons to your mind every day. He will preach about your lack. He will preach about your disappointments. He will preach about your unanswered prayers. He will preach about your delays, your struggles, your family, your finances, your relationships, and every area where you appear to be lacking.
But you must decide whose voice you will believe. Keep your heart true. Keep your confidence alive. Continue waiting. Continue trusting. Continue depending on the Holy Spirit. The heart that refuses to surrender its assurance is the heart that experiences God's presence most deeply. When your heart remains steadfast, you will discover that every season of waiting was preparing you for a greater revelation, greater strength, greater grace, and greater testimonies than you ever imagined possible.
The enemy understands that if he can destroy your heart, he can interrupt your journey. His target is not merely your circumstances or your emotions. His real target is your heart because that is where every genuine encounter with God begins. Your journey beyond what is natural is a journey of the heart. It is not your intellect that carries you there, but the assurance that is deeply rooted within you. Assurance is the rail track upon which your faith travels.
Without it, you will struggle to move forward no matter how much you desire God. One of the greatest lessons you must learn is that God is never far away. When you feel distant from Him, it is not because He has withdrawn Himself. More often than not, it is because something has affected the condition of your heart. A heart that is not rightly positioned cannot perceive what God is already doing. It becomes excluded from experiencing the richness of His presence, not because God has hidden Himself, but because the heart has lost its sensitivity.
That is why you must protect your heart above everything else. A true heart is recognized by its full assurance of faith. Faith expresses itself in different ways, and one of its greatest currencies is assurance. Another is rest. When your heart becomes quiet despite the storms surrounding you, when fear gives way to peace, and anxiety gives way to calm confidence, you are carrying one of the greatest evidences of genuine faith. That inner tranquility is not weakness. It is spiritual substance.
A powerful expression of faith is vision. There are moments when God opens your spiritual eyes and allows you to see what He intends to accomplish long before it becomes visible in the natural. Once God allows you to see something by His Spirit, no circumstance should be able to erase that vision from your heart.
