YEAR OF RECONCILIATION
(Romans 5:10-11)
I welcome us all to this new beginning and first month in this blessed year 2024. We are appreciative to our maker who has in his unending mercy brought us this far, even through that wonderful and incredible year 2023 despite challenges of NO CASH and of PREMIUM MOTOR SPIRIT, may His praise be continually heard in our homes now and forever in Jesus name.
In this new month and year 2024 in regard to the above topic, we'll be looking at the issues surrounding RECONCILIATION and embedded in here are selected prayer points for this month of January 2024 – I pray that God will grant unto us the joy and happiness of this year in Jesus name.
INTRODUCTION.
This is the process of making sure that two sets, elements and companies are in mutual agreement. It is seen as the restoration of friendly relationship.
Theologically, Reconciliation is also known as reunion or confession while John Calvin describes it as "Peace between humanity and God that results from expiation of religious sin and the propitiation of Gods wrath"
Scripturally, reconciliation is the act of Gods grace, a gift freely given to us. It is a sacrament that was originated by Jesus Christ in His love and mercy for sinners in giving us forgiveness for our offenses committed against God. It is the end of enstrangement caused by original sin between God and humanity.
TEXTUAL SOURCE: “For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation" Romans 5:10-11
STEPS TO RECONCILIATION.
READINESS -: The ever first step to reconciliation is PERSONAL READINESS, an individual must be ready within himself to be reconciled to Him.
HUMBLENESS OF HEART -: You must also have humility and humbleness of heart for you to be reconciled to your creator and even men.
CONSCIOUSNESS -: One of the steps to it is that you should be conscious and be aware that you need reconciliation either with God or with men (John 3:1-5)
GOD'S LEADING -: This is attached to predestination in that if God is set that you'll become His own, He knows how to reconcile you to Himself (Romans 8:30-31)
PURPOSE -: As an individual, you must be guided by reasons why you're to go into reconcilation with either man or God. Reconciling with God or human will always have a reason and purpose (John 3:16)
SERIES OF RECONCILIATION.
INTRA-PERSONAL RECONCILIATION -: This is done within you where you are able to forgive yourself of any past sins, mistakes and wrongdoings after you might have realized how worst or terrible they are.
FAMILY RECONCILIATION -: This is the type required by a family wether immediate family or extended where bitterness, quarrels and unhealthy relationships has been exisiting. The husband or family head then realizes it and seek for peaceful meeting among the kindreds.
NATION’S RECONCILIATION -: This happens when a particular country has done abomination in the sight of the Lord by not following His ordinances and they give themselves to idolatry, corruption etc. Jeremiah 30:7 says "Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it; And it is the time of Jacob's trouble, But he shall be saved from it"
Note here that God is saying to Nigeria that He knows we are in time of trouble but if we'll reconcile with Him, He's willing to save us from all the problems and give us rest in all side.
GROUP RECONCILIATION -: This type could be seen within a unit, departmemt or a section in a church or any other organization where the laeder or a member of such group notices their wrongdoings and calls on other members that there is need for them to engage themselves in reconciliation (Acts 2:37)
INTER-PERSONAL RECONCILIATION -: This is between you and another person which can be either a friend, co-worker, neighbor, church members etc (Mathew 6:14-15). We can also call it FRIENDSHIP RECONCILIATION
SIBLINGS RECONCILIATION -: This is the process of putting an end to rift, grudges, fights and misunderstanding between siblings (Mathew 18:15)
MARITAL RECONCILIATION -: We have seen cases where couples had problems which led to their separation for many months and sometimes many years and later, they settled and rejoined back to themselves (1Corinthians 7:11)
PARENT-CHILDREN RECONCILIATION -: There can be misunderstanding between parents and his/her children which could lead to distancing from each other for many months or years without calls or visitation and they'll still come back together and start their normal relationship again (Luke 15:20-24)
END RESULT OF RECONCILIATION
1. INTIMACY WITH GOD i.e It will bring you very close to God
2. LOVE FOR OTHERS i.e you'll find it easier to love others as yourself
3. HAPPINESS i.e YOU WILL HAVE JOY AND GLADNESS IN YOUR HEART
4. FORGIVEN HEART i.e As God forgives you, you'll have heart to also forgive People. Colosians 3v13
5.KINDNESS i.e IT WILL BE EASIER FOR YOU TO BE KIND TO PEOPLE
6. HUNGER FOR THE THINGS OF GOD
7. PRAYER AND FASTING
8. PEACE WITH OTHERS i.e you'll live in harmony with others. Hebrews 12v14
9. WORD MEDITATION
10. WEALTH AND PROSPERITY
11. FINALLY, YOU'LL MAKE HEAVEN

1ST – 8TH JANUARY 2024. PRAY WITH PSALM 150 DAILY AND GIVE GLORY, THANKSGIVING AND HONOR TO GOD ALMIGHTY FOR BRINGING YOU AND YOUR HOUSEHOLD TO THIS NEW YEAR 2024 IN SOUND HEALTH
9TH – 15TH JANUARY 2024. PRAY WITH PSALM 65 EVERYDAY AND CALL ON GOD OF ABRAHAM TO BLESS AND CROWN THIS YEAR FOR YOU WITH SUCCESS, WEALTH, HOLINESS AND ABUNDANCE IN JESUS CHRIST NAME
16TH - 23RD JANUARY 2024. PRAY WITH ROMANS 5 DAILY AND BESEECH GOD WITH HUMBLENESS OF HEART TO RECONCILE YOU BACK TO HIMSELF AND WIPE AWAY EVERY INEQUITIES IN YOUR LIFE
24TH – 31ST JANUARY 2024. PRAY WITH PHILIPIANS 2 EVERYDAY AND SAY MY LORD AND MY FATHER, LET THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST WORK FOR ME IN ALL AFFAIRS AND AREAS OF MY LIFE AND MINISTRY
