True story …

"Therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the saviour of all men, specially of them that believe."

1 Tim 4:10

"Even the non-Christian has been delivered, because the death of Jesus Christ brought redemption, deliverance to all men, not just those who become christains."

-Rev Chris Oyakhilome PhD. (Rhapsody of realities 16th Oct 2017)

"God has covered the world with his blood, and every man is redeemed, whether he will have it or not. But there are some people whom God has wonderfully chosen before the foundation of the world."

-Smith Wigglesworth.

"Everything is made to center upon the initial act of "accepting" Christ (a term incidentally, which is not found in the Bible) and we are not expected thereafter to crave any further revelation of God to our souls."

-A. W. Tozer (the pursuit of God)

Lol... Do you follow?

There is not a single scripture where the phrases "accept Christ" or "give your life to Christ" occurs in the ENTIRE Bible.

Prove me wrong. I'll wait. Forever.

Happy Sunday i.

The 3 checks (part IV)

2) IS IT EDIFYING? (cont...)

I should add as a bonus that according to the afore referenced scripture, the word of God is meant to be a unifying force in the Lord's vineyard. So any word any man is presenting as the word of God, one may also ask; is this word a unifying or divisive word.
For there is only one God. And Jesus made it clear that the first and most important commandment is "Hear ye o Israel the Lord your God is One Lord"(Mark 12:29, Deut 6:4). And the Apostle Paul further elaborating says " though there be gods, as there be gods many and lords many, for us there is but One God."

3) IS GOD GLORIFIED?

Lastly, and definitely, at least, one should ask, before accepting or rejecting any teaching; who is being glorified by/in this doctrine?
Nowadays, so-called men of God preach/teach words that glorify themselves or in essense, man, over God, or the flesh which in turn glorifies the adversary, Satan. I will not bring up examples. Just ask yourself before accepting or rejecting any doctrine, if i believe this, who takes the glory? If I accept and practice this, to whom does the glory accrue? And determine in your heart to give to God the glory worthy of his name.

Brethren beloved, before accepting or rejecting any doctrine/teaching from ANYONE including my very self, I exhort you to pass it rigorously through these 3 checks, and you cannot go wrong.

May the word that comes to us, that we hear, stand for us and not against us in the day of judgement. Amen.

Shalom Israel.

The 3 checks (part III)

2) IS IT EDIFYING?

In Acts chapter 20 verse 32, the Apostle Paul says "and now brethren I commend you to the word of his grace which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified." The word of God is meant to bestow grace. It is meant to build up, spiritually, mentally and psychologically, not tear down God's children.
Before you accept or reject any teaching ask yourself; will this teaching edify me? Will it add to my spiritual knowledge or subtract? Will it aid or hinder my spiritual walk? Will it help or hurt me, to believe it? Will it build me up or tear me down, to believe it? Will it enlarge or restrict my spiritual capacity? Will it advance me in my spiritual walk or cause me to regress? Does it liberate or limit my spirit, to believe it? Does it bind or set free, to believe it? Every child of the Word knows what Jesus says about knowing the truth, so... Receive innerstanding.
Ephesians chapter 4 verse 11 says "and he gave some apostles and some prophets and some evangelists and some pastors and some teachers." For what, to what purpose? Verse 12 says it is "for the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry for the EDIFYING of the body of Christ."
Verse 13 adds :"till we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God unto a perfect man unto the measure of the fullness of the stature of Christ."
Verse 14 further adds :"that we henceforth be no more children tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the sleight of men and cunning craftiness whereby they lie in wait to deceive."
Whether I call myself an apostle, a prophet, an evangelist, a pastor or a teacher, whatsoever I present to God's children as the word of God must be to the intent of building up. That is the purpose for which the five fold ministry exists in the body of Christ.

The 3 checks(part II)

1) IS IT WRITTEN?(cont)

Acts chapter 17 verse 11 talks about the people of Berea who "were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether these things were so.
I remember a few years back(2020/2021), I would teach in Sabbath service a topic that sounded so new and strange, unheard of before, and I could literally see the confounded faces of the people as they listened. After the teaching, most times, a particular elder John Umaru would stand before the congregation and testify that however incredible what I taught sounded if they were in the spirit they would know that what i taught was from God. He said this not because he always absolutely understood what I taught nor even because he was Spirit-filled but because he was an ardent Bible student. He knew his Bible and he knew even though I taught things that they hadn't heard before from any man of God, what I taught was firmly rooted in Scripture. Jesus said in the gospel of John chapter 7 vs 17 "if any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself."
Isaiah chapter 8 vs 20: "To the law and to the testimony if they speak not according to this word it is because there is no light in them. This scripture is much more deeper than it's particular application in this context. But suffice it for now, before you accept or reject any doctrine, ask yourself IS IT WRITTEN??? Because if it is, "the scriptures can NEVER be broken".

23/06/2024

We live in a time of multiplicities of theologies. Religious confusion and spiritual misconceptions are rife. Even in seminaries I have personally observed that error is taught as established Christian doctrine due to what I see simply as religious assumptions(it is an assumption if/because there is nothing concrete backing up the conclusion).
Some sincere seekers are confused as to what to accept and what to reject. Some may not want to be willfully ignorant and miss out on revealed or re-revealed truth but are also afraid of accepting seemingly new teachings that may be heretical. Some have therefore chosen to stick to and follow some particular established/recognized men of God, thinking if it is from those men it must be genuine or from God and if not it cannot be trusted. I hold that such folk are not familiar with their Bibles or they'd know the danger in that line of thinking. No man is infallible, no matter how higly placed or established. Children of God are to follow the Word of God, not men of God. If you are following any man of God be sure it is the Word of God he/she carries that you are following and that your allegiance is to the Word. Not to a personality. Whoever they are!
Sometime ago I was inspired to teach my people(those under my ministration) 3 checks for any doctrine, before accepting or rejecting any doctrine, old(established) or seemingly new, from any man of God established or as yet upcoming/unknown including myself. I admonish any and every sincere seeker of truth to apply these checks and may the God of all wisdom grant his children wisdom, understanding, innerstanding and overstanding.

1) IS IT WRITTEN?

Is it scriptural/scripture based? The Master Yeshua himself countered the devil's temptations with the words "it is written". Before you accept or reject any teaching this is the first thing to check.
