*TOPIC:*
PRAISE GOD IN ALL SITUATIONS

John 11:38-44 Now Jesus, again sighing repeatedly and deeply disquieted, approached the tomb. It was a cave (a hole in the rock), and a boulder lay against [the entrance to close] it.
Jesus said, Take away the stone. Martha, the sister of the dead man, exclaimed, But Lord, by this time he [is decaying and] throws off an offensive odor, for he has been dead four days!
Jesus said to her, Did I not tell you and promise you that if you would believe and rely on Me, you would see the glory of God?
So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.
Yes, I know You always hear and listen to Me, but I have said this on account of and for the benefit of the people standing around, so that they may believe that You did send Me [that You have made Me Your Messenger].
When He had said this, He shouted with a loud voice, Lazarus, come out!
And out walked the man who had been dead, his hands and feet wrapped in burial cloths (linen strips), and with a [burial] napkin bound around his face. Jesus said to them, Free him of the burial wrappings and let him go.

Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will]. (1 Thessalonia

The Son of God, Jesus Christ, found Himself with the dead body of His friends, Lazarus of Bethany, who had been attacked with sickness that ravaged his body, and eventually led to his death. Tears were flowing from the eyes of families and friends. The two sisters were helpless in the midst of the force of untimely death that had claimed the life of their only brother. Oh! Lazarus was dead and buried before the Saviour arrived the scene.

The report they gave Jesus Christ made Him wee. Martha wept! Mary wept! This was so, because Lazarus was dead. Their only brother was dead. But Jesus Christ had a different intention and approach to the seemingly hopeless situation on ground. He arrived to turn the situation around. He faced His Father in heaven and gave thanks for the situation. If only you can also face your heavenly Father, today, and give thanks for all things and in your present situation, He will also turn your situation around. Jesus Christ gave thanks to God, for He always heard Him, and over the seemingly hopeless situations of Lazarus and his surviving sisters. By praising and thanking God

*RELATIONSHIP INSIDE THE COURTS*

*Read Psalms 84:1-12*

*As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God (Psalms 42:1)*

Have you been to palaces, especially mansions that are intricately built to the tastes of the owners, even great palaces of first-class kings around you or outside the country? You cannot stand at the gates alone and enjoy the aesthetic beauties. When you enter the courts of those palaces, you will be thrilled. The house of God is greater in beauty and awesomeness. A true child of God will have to go to the courts of God to see Him more than the way any other person describes Him.
Many of us are not enjoying the blessings of God today, because we are not inside the courts of God. The temple of God was built with layers and stages. But there is a place called “the Holy of Holies”. It was meant for only the High Priest. It was not for ordinary people. Do you know that you are also a priest before God? *But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people…* (1 Pet. 2:9a). Where do you stand to serve God, and consequently, to enjoy His blessings? If you stand at the gates, you receive the blessings of the gates. But if you enter His courts, you are in His presence, where *there is fullness of joy, and at His right hand (where there) are pleasures forevermore*. There, He will show you the path of life (Psa. 16:11). Because Micaiah was enabled to see into the council of God, he could see beyond what the ordinary ones could see (1 Kgs 22:19ff). Go inside today, and you will never be the same. A day in His courts is more than thousands of years at the gate.
How do you enter His courts? The first thing to do is, invite Jesus Christ into your heart. Two, purify your heart with the blood of Jesus Christ. Three, invite the Holy Spirit into your heart. Four, take time to study His Word, every time.

*LIVE BY EXAMPLE*

*Read 1 Timothy 4:12-13*

*Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity (1 Timothy 4:12)*

Apostle Paul admonished his son in the Lord, *Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.* As believers, we sometimes face challenges of diverse natures, such as, persecution, reproach and affliction, even as we are committed to trusting God. That should not stop us from living an exemplary Christian life. We should remain steadfast in faith and live in accordance with the Word of God.
The admonition to Timothy was that even though he was a youth, it was not a guarantee for him to misbehave. He must live out a Christ-like life worthy of emulation in every area of life, despite the challenges he had. In conversation, he must be prudent in words. In charity, i.e. love, he must not be found wanting. He must live by faith, trusting and depending on God for, and in all things. He must be Spirit-filled and led by the Holy Spirit, devoid of carnal influence. He must be pure from the heart and not live a double standard or hypocritical life. This admonition is for us, also, if we must live by Christ’s example for all to see.
To live by example is a sure way of preaching the Scripture and quite an effective tool to impact other people positively. The life and success of the young bishop, Timothy, in life and ministry undoubtedly attest to this. Never you be one whose life drives people far from Christ’s kingdom. Let the beauty of Christ be seen in you, everywhere. Be determined to live by example, to the glory of God, always.

*PRAYER POINTS*
1. To affect my generation positively, help me, o Lord, to live by Your example, all the days of my life.
2. O Lord, I stand against every spirit of hypocrisy that can hinder me

Isaiah 54v10-17

54:10 Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,' says the LORD, who has compassion on you.
54:11 'O afflicted city, lashed by storms and not comforted, I will build you with stones of turquoise, your foundations with sapphires.
54:12 I will make your battlements of rubies, your gates of sparkling jewels, and all your walls of precious stones.
54:13 All your sons will be taught by the LORD, and great will be your children's peace.
54:14 In righteousness you will be established: Tyranny will be far from you; you will have nothing to fear. Terror will be far removed; it will not come near you.
54:15 If anyone does attack you, it will not be my doing; whoever attacks you will surrender to you.
54:16 'See, it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work. And it is I who have created the destroyer to work havoc;
54:17 no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,' declares the LORD.

GO TO THE SEA

Luke 5:1-11
He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him (Psalm 126:6)
It is now rampant in the Christendom, as it is in the secular world, that people see the work of God as competition, rather than complementing one another. To this end, people of God, pastors, teachers, evangelists, etc., do run after other ministers' members in their communities to populate their church. These men of God find it too difficult to go places where harvest is ripe, for a bountiful catch. People should know how to catch their own fishes, because the harvest is plenteous enough.
Each time Jesus needs new converts, He goes to the sea. He looked for the Samaritan woman. He did not begin His ministry with the disciples of John the Baptist, nor the priests of the synagogue. He looked for His disciples, trained, and sent them to preach the gospel (Lk. 5:1-11).
There are places that are not too far from where you are, that need to hear the truth of the gospel, which God has designed, that you take to them. If you take the bold step, today, the harvest shall be great, and you will be happy you did (v. 6).
Christians are sent to the broken-hearted and to the prisoners of sin; those that still have the wrath of God upon, and against them. We are not called to break into others' camps to steal their harvest. God is willing to use extraordinary means to reach out to those who have not embraced the gospel. You are one of the means, like Peter to Cornelius (Acts 10:5). Saul (Paul) needed brother Ananias. Don't disappoint God.

*THE BEAUTY OF CONTENTMENT

*Read Esther 2:12-18*

*Now when the turn came for Esther the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her as his daughter, to go in to the king, she requested nothing but what Hagai the king’s eu**ch, the custodian of the women, advised. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all who saw her (Esther 2:15)*
Contentment is something so many people, Christians inclusive, don’t cherish much, today. The grab-it-all tendency is fast eating deeper and deeper into the fabrics of our society. Little wonder the level of craze of materialism at all cost. Paul’s charge to Timothy, in 1 Timothy 6:6-10, clears the air on what God’s attitude is to such madness. Esther was privileged to contest for the throne of the queen in a foreign land. To appear before the king, the women were given a sought of ‘blank cheque’ opportunity. The contesting woman was given whatever she desired to take with her from the women’s quarters to the king’s palace (Est. 2:13). That was too open a cheque. Very few persons would not abuse such privilege. Just look at how people misbehave at serve-yourself parties. Put yourself in her shoes, having the opportunity to take from a store of great provision, without restrictions. What would you do?
Esther chose to be different. She was contented with what she was given (v. 15). That is a display of contentment and moderation. God proved that godliness with contentment is great gain (1 Tim. 6:6). How? He made the contented Esther to find the favour that crowned her above others (vv. 15b-18). That is what would happen to you if you are contented with what God give.
