TOPIC: "Putting on the Armor of God: Standing Firm in Spiritual Warfare"

TEXT: Ephesians 6:10-18

Introduction
Good morning, brothers and sisters in Christ. Today, we still continue with the topic of "spiritual warfare and the importance of putting on the armor of God".

Let me tell you a story. You may remember the story of Gideon in the book of Judges. Gideon was a young man who was called by God to lead the Israelites against the Midianites. But Gideon was hesitant and unsure of himself. He asked God for a sign, and God responded by having the angel of the Lord appear to him.

The angel of the Lord said to Gideon, "The Lord is with you, mighty warrior" (Judges 6:12). But Gideon replied, "But Lord, I am the least in my family... What could I possibly do?" (Judges 6:15).

God's response to Gideon is instructive for us today. God said, "I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive" (Judges 6:16).

Gideon's story teaches us that spiritual warfare is not about our strength or abilities, but about God's power and presence in our lives. And one of the key ways we experience God's power and presence is by putting on the armor of God.

I. *The Importance of Spiritual Armor*
In Ephesians 6:10-12, we read, "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

This passage reminds us that spiritual warfare is real, and that we need spiritual armor to stand firm against the enemy's attacks.

II. *The Components of Spiritual Armor*
In Ephesians 6:13-18, we read about the various components of spiritual armor:

- *The Belt of Truth*: We must have a solid foundation of truth in our lives, based on God's Word.

III. *Putting on the Armor of God*
So how do we put on the armor of God?

- *_Pray and Seek God's Presence_:* We must seek God's presence and power in our lives, and ask for His guidance and protection.

Good morning, brothers and sisters in Christ. Today, we're still exploring a critical aspect of our faith: the consequences of sin. Sin is a reality that affects us all, and it's essential to understand the gravity of our actions. The Bible teaches that sin has severe consequences, and it's crucial to recognize these consequences to live a life that honors God.

*The Immediate Consequences of Sin_*

The Bible teaches that sin has immediate consequences. In Galatians 6:7-8, we read, "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life." But there is hope! The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ came to save us from the consequences of sin. In Romans 5:8, we read, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, and He rose from the dead to give us eternal life.
