*HONORED BY GOD*: *Standing Strong* When People Overlook You
This reality is not new, and you are not alone in it. Many pastors’ wives quietly carry this experience—members who deeply respect the pastor but struggle to extend the same honor to his wife.
Yet, Scripture reminds us that honor is not always distributed fairly among men—but it is always seen and rewarded by God.
“For man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.”
— 1 Samuel 16:7
There were women in the Bible whose roles were overlooked by people, yet they were deeply valued by God. As a pastor’s wife, your worth is not defined by public recognition but by divine assignment.
1. *Understand Your Calling Is From God, Not People*
Your position is not a popularity contest—it is a calling.
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
— Colossians 3:23
People may celebrate your husband more because of visibility, but heaven recognizes your labor, your sacrifices, your tears, and your silent intercessions.
2. *Walk in Grace, Not Competition*
The temptation to compare or compete must be resisted.
“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.”
— Philippians 2:3
You are not in competition with your husband—you are in completion with him. Your strength is not in being seen, but in being faithful.
3. *Build Genuine Relationships, Not Forced Respect*
Respect cannot be demanded—it is cultivated.
“A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”
— Proverbs 15:1
Some members may take time to understand your role. Show consistency in love, humility, and wisdom. Over time, hearts soften.
4. *Guard Your Heart Against Bitterness*
Unaddressed hurt can quietly grow into bitterness if you are not careful.
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
— Proverbs 4:23
Release offenses quickly. Pray for those who misunderstand you. Refuse to carry emotional wounds into your assignment.
5. *Know That God Will Publicly Honor You in His Time*
Even if people overlook you, God does not.
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.”
— 1 Peter 5:6
There is a “due time” for your lifting. Stay faithful. Stay consistent. Stay rooted.
6. *Draw Strength From God Daily*
You cannot pour into others if you are empty.
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength…”
— Isaiah 40:31
Your strength must come from your personal walk with God—not from validation by people.
YAYA Past.Mrs-
You are seen.
You are chosen.
You are called.
Even when people do not fully understand your role, heaven does.
“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love…”
— Hebrews 6:10
*Stand strong*. *Serve* *faithfully*. *Love genuinely*.
Your reward is not in applause—it is in purpose.
