Topic: A PRACTISING CHRISTIAN
Biblical Text: “How that in a great trial of affliction, the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.” [2 Corinthians 8:2]
Biblical Reading: REVELATION 3:7-12

A practicing Christian is one that lives in practicality the life of Christ; in faith, utterance, knowledge, in diligence to the things of God and in love. We must not be a Christian who demonstrates their faith in God only in good times and when challenges come, they throw their faith away. A practicing Christian is willing to sacrifice his life without compromising their faith in God. The disciples of the New Testament were very vocal of their faith in God; they refused to succumb to the pressure of denying Christ; they were flogged, persecuted and afflicted for the name of Christ, yet they did not deny Him. A practicing Christian is one that watches his/her utterances carefully, so as not to sin. Unbelievers are looking for an opportunity to condemn us by the words of our mouth; we must not allow this to happen. The two presidents and 120 princes could not condemn Daniel by his utterances or action, he was a practicing Christian. Today, love is a scarce commodity even in some Churches of God. Though, we know God is love and we say with our mouths that we love God, yet our actions are one of hate, jealousy and envy. A practicing Christian shows love to those of the household of faith, even to strangers as led by the Holy Spirit. That was what the Macedonia church did. They gave to the saints in distress. Be a practicing Christian in word and in deed!

Topic: WHO IS YOUR COUNSELLOR?
Biblical Text: For I beheld, and there was no man; even among them, and there was no counsellor, that, when I asked of them, could answer a word. [Isaiah 41:28]
Biblical Reading: PROVERBS 15:21-22

My parents always told me one thing, when you are in doubt, ask people so you do not get stuck. Well, I took it a bit further and I kept asking people what they think about almost everything. I wanted to share my doubts with people, so I can receive good counsel. Soon, I built my life and work based on what they thought was right. I did not realize for years that my counsellors had controlled my life up till then! Counsellors are good, for they can help to prevent one from making a bad decision, but they must not control your life via the choices they make for you. The choice of Satan as a counsellor to Eve led to her and her husband Adam from committing a sin against the Lord. Job's wife counselled him to curse God and die but he refused; so not all counsellors are good! Not all people that call themselves counsellors actually qualify to be; some counsellors bring destruction. The best Counsellor and most reliable is the Holy Spirit. He is the only ONE capable of guiding you into all truth; He is the one that leads us to the place of profiting. We must let the Holy Spirit be our Principal Counsellor. Whatever idea, step or action you intend to take, subject it to our principal Counsellor; He should be first sought before we seek human counsellors; because whatever step the principal Counsellor rejects, must be rejected

PRAY IT ∞ Holy Spirit, I recognize you as my principal Counsellor guide and lead me to the place where I will profit in Jesus Name.

Topic: A TRUE SERVANT OF CHRIST
Biblical Text: Then same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, these men are the servants of the most High God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. [Acts 16:17]
Biblical Reading: DANIEL 3:26-29

A true servant of Christ is one who does the will of God from the heart. They do not engage in eye service like men pleasers. Moses was a true servant of Christ. When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mount where he was receiving instructions from God, the people mounted pressure on Aaron to make a golden calf for them; though Aaron knew it was wrong, he opted to please the people to preserve his own life. God instructed Moses to go down and see the wickedness of the people of Israel. Moses saw them dancing round the calf; he was angry, he took the calf and burnt it in fire. A true servant of God never sides with men but ONLY with God. A true servant of God will not compromise because of what men will say or do to him. A true servant of God will always say the truth and stand by the truth. A true servant of God will always do the will of God from the heart. Like Apostle Paul, a true servant of Christ will shew unto the people the way of salvation. When we try to please people, we miss the will of God for our lives. King Saul was more interested in pleasing the people than pleasing God; he did not act like a true servant of Christ and it cost him his throne. We must always say the truth and stand by the truth; you will not lose your throne in Jesus Name.

KNOW IT ∞ A true
servant of God does the will of God from the heart. They are not men pleasers!
READ IT ∞ Ephesians 6:6, Revelation 15:3
PRAY IT ∞ Father, give me the grace to consistently do the will of God from the heart in Jesus Name.

Topic: THE RICH FOOL
Biblical Text: “But God said unto him, thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? [Luke 12:20]
Biblical Reading: LUKE 12:16-21

There was a certain rich man who had a large farm that brought forth fruit plentifully. Instead of him giving thanks to God that made it possible for his land to bring forth plentifully, he personalized the glory to himself. He began to think within himself what he will do to the fruit his farm yielded; of how he will expand his barn to contain the fruits that his land brought forth. Then the rich man said to his soul, You have goods laid up for many years, do not worry about anything, just eat, drink and make merry. This rich man was a fool that believed that everything that happened to him was as a result of his own power and intelligence. He was not rich towards God to give all glory due to His name for what He has done for him. Then God told him. You fool, this night you will die, then what will happen to all you have labored for? Beloved, only fools lay-up treasures for themselves on the earth without thinking about God. Any earthly treasures laid up on earth without Jesus being the foundation of it is a waste! When you see people hustling without thinking of God and just amassing wealth by any means whether legally or illegally, the end result is vanity. God wants us to be rich towards Him by making our focus be on Him; by giving Him all the glory due to His Name and not ascribing any glory to self or man.

KNOW IT ∞ Do not be like the rich fool; give all the glory to God for everything He has done for you.
READ IT ∞ Luke 12:16-21
PRAY IT ∞ Father, I give you the glory for everything you have done for me, not by my strength, only by You, O Lord.
