SUNDAY 13

PRAY FOR ALL MEN

And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel (1 Chronicles 21:1).

The Bible shows how evil spirits influence men to do wrong. One of such instances is what we read about David in our theme verse. Imagine David, a righteous king, was moved by Satan to number Israel against God’s will. As a result, God took actions against Israel.

There’s another incident recorded for us in the gospels. When Jesus made it clear to His disciples that it was necessary for Him to die on account of our sins and be raised back to life for our justification, Peter took Him aside and began to “rebuke” Him, saying, “God forbid, Lord! This must never happen to you; you’re not going to die” (Matthew 16:22).

Jesus, right away, identified that it was Satan speaking through Peter, and the Bible says “...he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men” (Matthew 16:23). So, even good men can be moved by Satan to do or say the wrong things. That’s why God wants us to know the truth; know His Word. When you know the truth, you can walk in the light of it. You’ll know how to pray, and how to put a stop to Satan’s works and influences around you.

Learn to pray for all nations of men, leaders and those in authority as admonished in 1 Timothy 2:1-2. Boldly declare by the Spirit that the will, plans and purposes of God be established in and around you, in the hearts of leaders in your community, city, town, nation and in the organisation where you work. Pray that they refuse to yield to negative influences that could stir them to wickedness; rather, they rule with justice and equity, righteousness and truth. Amen.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I pray for leaders in my country, that they’d use their positions and authority to favour your righteous cause, that the Gospel may spread speedily and unhindered. I pray your blessings of peace and prosperity upon the nations, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

A Rich Pastor bought a new car and decided to give it to one of his church members, he never had anybody in mind but he promised to give it to anyone with a strong faith.
During the church vigil that very day around 11pm, he stood up and said, "If you know that you can buy me a car tomorrow, please stand on your feet" nobody stood up, he added again, "if you know that God can use you to buy me a car tomorrow please stand to your feet", still nobody stood up. He said it for the third time and a poor man stood up, he ordered the man to come out to the pulpit, he came out and the pastor handed a car key to him and said....."Because you believed that the Almighty God can use you to buy a car for me tomorrow, tonight God have given you a new car." The poor man did not even have a any money in his bank account but he believed God can use him to buy a car for the pastor. And that was how he owned a brown new car that night. . . I want to pray for somebody reading this story, only if you will believe me and type Amen, you see that special thing that you have been asking from God, i give you seven days from today, People will gather to celebrate your testimony because God have remembered you and he will grant you that your heart desire.

*PERFECTED FOREVER IN RIGHTEOUSNESS .*

_*But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified (Hebrews 10:12-14).*_

Blessed be God! The Lord Jesus offered the one supreme sacrifice for sin for all time. And by His one sacrifice, He perfected us forever! He made us perfect, holy and complete for all time. How glorious this is!

This isn’t something we qualified for or achieved by ourselves; Jesus did it for us. He perfected us in righteousness and holiness of truth. That’s what Paul refers to when He said in Ephesians 4:24 that you should put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

2 Corinthians 5:21 says, _*“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”*_ Never see yourself as unrighteous and imperfect. Christ is your perfection. You’re perfect, because the One who gave birth to you is perfect. Hebrews 2:11 declares, _*“For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one….”*_ You’re like Him. 1 John 4:17 says, _*“…as he is, so are we in this world….”*_

Colossians 2:10 says, _*“And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.”*_ The word “complete” also means perfected; you’re perfected in Him. Some have asked, “Doesn’t Ephesians 4:12 talk about _*“the perfecting of the saints”*_, meaning that we’re not yet perfect? No; that verse refers to the maturing or maturity of the saints; it means equipping or training the saints for the work of the ministry.

It’s like when a child is born; that child is perfectly as human as the parents are. But the child needs to be trained and equipped with information, education and strength to live a fully functional human life. That’s what the Apostle Paul meant by “perfecting of the saints.”

Already, you are, and have, the righteousness of God. But as you receive the Word of God into your spirit, you’re being trained in the life of righteousness; you become more skilled in the doctrine, understanding and application of your righteousness in Christ.

*CONFESSION*

*I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and in union with Him; I’m reigning in life. What blessedness to be the expression of His righteousness and bear fruits of righteousness, to the glory of His Name! Blessed be God!*
