Some people have turned misinformation into a profession and propaganda into a source of livelihood. Their survival depends entirely on misleading the public, distorting history, and manufacturing confusion wherever truth becomes inconvenient.
They do not build roads. They do not fix schools. They do not solve problems. What they do — and they do it very well — is flood Facebook and WhatsApp with lies, half-truths, and twisted history. Their only hope is that if they repeat a false story loudly enough and long enough, people will eventually forget what actually happened.
But our people remember. And I will not stay quiet while history is being rewritten in front of our eyes.

Hon. Betty Apiafi represented Abua-Odual/Ahoada East in the House of Representatives for three terms, from 2007 to 2019. Nobody is disputing that she served. That is not the argument.
The argument — the one that propagandists are now desperately trying to bury — is very simple:
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗥𝗗 𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗠 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗡𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗔𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧.
The political leaders, stakeholders, and community representatives of this constituency had a clear understanding among themselves. That understanding covered two terms. The people who sat in those rooms, who participated in those conversations, who shook hands on that arrangement are still alive today. They know what was discussed. They know what was agreed.
And they know how the third term came about.
This article will not insult their intelligence by spelling it out. Those who were there do not need it explained. Those who were not there should ask their elders, not Facebook.
𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗣𝗘𝗢𝗣𝗟𝗘 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗛
What angers me most about the current wave of misinformation is the contempt it shows for our people.
These propagandists behave as if the people of Abua and Ahoada East have no memory, no intelligence, and no political awareness. They think because they have a phone and a data subscription, they can rewrite what happened. They think that because younger people may not have been old enough to follow politics at the time, they can fill that gap with fabricated narratives.
𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗬 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗪𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗚.
Our elders were there. Our community leaders were there. The men and women who participated in those political negotiations are still among us. You cannot tell someone what they did not experience and expect them to simply accept it because you typed it on WhatsApp.
Our people remember the roads that were promised and never built. They remember the schools that deteriorated across twelve years of representation. They remember the hospitals that were left to decay. They remember what was delivered and what was not.
Political memory does not delete itself because it becomes inconvenient for someone's agenda.
𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗥, 𝗕𝗨𝗧 𝗗𝗢 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗟𝗜𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗠
There is nothing wrong with supporting a politician you believe in. That is normal in a democracy.
But there is something deeply wrong with lying for them. With distorting constituency history for them. With attacking anyone who dares to speak plainly, simply because the truth does not serve your political master today.
𝗟𝗢𝗬𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗬 𝗜𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗦 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗬.
𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗡𝗢𝗜𝗦𝗘 𝗜𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗦 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗦.
𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗪𝗘 𝗚𝗢 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘
The future of Abua-Odual/Ahoada East must be built on truth, fairness, and genuine development — not on recycled myths manufactured by people whose only relevance and means of living depend on public confusion.
The original agreement among our political stakeholders existed for a reason: equity, balance, and the principle that no single interest should permanently monopolise representation at the expense of the broader constituency. That principle still stands. And the people who benefited from breaking it cannot now pretend it never existed.
The truth is already known. It lives in the memory of our people. No amount of propaganda will erase it.
𝗜 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗟𝗬 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗔𝗣𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧, 𝗕𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗔𝗡’𝗦 𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗢𝗡 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡 𝗔𝗕𝗨𝗔-𝗢𝗗𝗨𝗔𝗟/𝗔𝗛𝗢𝗔𝗗𝗔 𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗧 𝗙𝗘𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗨𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗬, 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗔𝗕𝗨𝗔/𝗢𝗗𝗨𝗔𝗟 𝗕𝗟𝗢𝗖 𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗥𝗘𝗧𝗔𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗟 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳.
The people of Abua-Odual and Ahoada East deserve better than recycled propaganda and desperate historical revisionism. Agreements must mean something, political memory must be respected, and representation must ultimately serve the people, not personal ambition.
