BELIEVE YOUR PRAYERS
There are some lessons I want us to learn from Acts 12:12-15. Look at what it says
"And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying. And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda. And when she knew Peter's voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate. And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel."
As soon as Peter gained his freedom, the first place he concluded on visiting was the place where the church was praying for him. It was the house of Mary the mother of John Mark. In fact when he came to the door, prayers were still going on.
As Peter knocked, a young lady named Rhoda came to the door, she was so excited that she could not open the door because of gladness, but ran to tell the others that it was Peter. The response of those praying was a shocker! They said to her, "you are mad". But she constantly affirmed that it was Peter, they said it is his angel or spirit.
Is it not amazing how we pray sometimes and yet don't believe in our prayers? We sometimes pray religiously, or join others to pray in church for praying sake, we do not mix our prayers with faith. This also depict how some folks can be prayer warriors and still comfortably tell another believer that "you are mad".
Some times our confession is not consistent with our prayers. God is looking for Rhodas who will affirm what they believe even before they see it physically. She just knew it was Peter by his voice and she believed. Don't just speak words, believe them.
There is power in your prayers, the personal and corporate prayers of saints can make anything possible, believe it! God can answer you even before you finish praying, believe it! Don't just pray, believe in your prayers.
