I WAS IMAGINING IF APOSTLE PAUL WERE TO BE ALIVE IN OUR GENERATION WHAT EPISTLE DO YOU THINK HE WOULD HAVE WRITTEN TO THE NIGERIAN CHURCH AND TO THE YOUNG MINISTERS.
SO IN MY IMAGINATION, BY THE HELP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, I PUT THIS DOWN
IT MAY BE LENGTHY, BUT PLEASE READ PATIENTLY AND IMAGINE APOSTLE PAUL SPEAKING 🗣️🗣️
Dear Young Minister In Nigeria,
An Epistle to the Church in Nigeria, Concerning Purity and the Care of Wounded Soldiers
By Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, to the Church of God in Nigeria, and to the young ministers whom the Lord is raising in this generation: grace, mercy, and peace be multiplied to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Beloved sons and daughters, I thank my God every time I remember your zeal, your songs that rise like incense, your prayers that shake the gates of darkness, and your hunger to see righteousness established in the land. Truly, your faith is spoken of beyond your borders.
Yet I write with fatherly concern, for many who began well are being entangled by snares too familiar(the lust of the flesh, secret immorality, and passions that war against the soul).
Young ministers, hear me as a father: the strength of your gift cannot protect you where your character is weak. He who delights to use you publicly desires first to purify you privately.
Concerning Purity:
Do not say, “Because we live in a corrupt generation, we cannot stand.” For the grace that appeared through Christ teaches us to deny ungodliness and to walk soberly.
Nigeria is beloved of the Lord, but she is also a field where temptations grow tall. Therefore, gird up your minds:
Flee from flirtation as Joseph fled from Potiphar’s wife.
Avoid the secret chambers where your soul knows it is weak.
Do not counsel in private those whose presence stirs unholy desire in you.
Make covenant with your eyes, your thoughts, and your steps.
Remember that the oil on your head does not cancel the warfare within your flesh.
The young minister who toys with impurity is like a man balancing fire on his lap, sooner or later his garments will burn.
Concerning Accountability:
I urge you, therefore, in the Lord: walk with brethren who can rebuke you without fear and correct you with love.
A generation without accountability will become a generation without authority. Confess your weaknesses before they become your downfall, and let no one say, “I am too anointed to fall.” For even David, a man after God’s heart, stumbled when he chose isolation over vigilance.
When a Soldier Falls:
Now, regarding the matter of those who have stumbled: I have heard that some among you shoot the fallen as though they were enemies, not brothers. This ought not to be so.
If anyone is overtaken in a fault, you who are spiritual should restore such a one in a spirit of meekness, remembering your own frailty.
Do not join the accuser of the brethren in his ministry of condemnation.
A wounded soldier is not an enemy soldier. If you throw stones at him, you push him further from healing and nearer to destruction and you bring sorrow to the kingdom you claim to defend.
Guard your tongues, for sometimes the gossip of the righteous wounds more deeply than the sword of the wicked.
Let your words be medicine, not poison; a bandage, not a blade.
Protect One Another:
Young ministers, let this be your culture: cover one another without endorsing sin, correct one another without crushing dignity, and protect one another without compromising truth.
Love does not overlook sin, but neither does it parade the shame of its brother. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
If one of you falls, encircle him with prayer, counsel, and patience. Teach him again the paths of righteousness. Remind him that failure is not final where repentance is genuine. For we are not a kingdom that discards wounded sons, we are a kingdom that heals them.
A Final Appeal:
Therefore, beloved, strengthen your knees, purify your hearts, flee youthful lusts, pursue righteousness, and fight the good fight.
Let your private lives be as bright as your pulpits. May Nigeria see in you a generation whose holiness is louder than their sermons.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
Amen.
Let us pray 🙏
