Introduction
Misunderstanding is inevitable wherever two or more people exist- organisation, work or market place, school, church, neighbourhood, etc. Similarly, misunderstanding cannot but exist in every home; however, it is very good especially during courtship, before or some months after marriage. Therefore, this teaching is focused on handling misunderstandings between the couple/children- husband and wife. This is considered timely because disunity, infighting, quarrelling, physical and inward broken homes are all noticed everywhere in some families today; and the effects are seriously felt on the couple, children as well as society.
Definition of terms
Handling: The manner in which something is understood, treated, resolved or controlled.
Misunderstandings: In this teaching, it means fighting (physically or inwardly), quarrels, disagreement, etc.
Christian: This is anyone who has accepted Jesus Christ as his or her personal Lord and Saviour and strives to follow Him in all areas of life.
Home/Family: This can be referred to as; firstly, the husband and wife with/without children. Secondly, it includes extended family members- parents, siblings, etc.); especially, those who live with the couple under the same roof. Therefore, Christian home refers to a family whose members have accepted Christ.
