Serving with Love Across Abeokuta 🌍❤️

On August 15, 2026, members of the Abeokuta Nigeria Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints joined communities across Africa in the All Africa Service Project—giving their time, energy, and hearts in service to others.

Across four clusters, members responded to different needs within their communities. At Federal Medical Center Abeokuta (FMCA), members participated in a voluntary blood donation drive to help provide a potentially life-saving resource for patients in need. At the Kugba-Ajagbe Health Care Center, members cleaned the interior of the facility and its surrounding premises. In Odeda, members worked at the market square and car park, clearing weeds, removing dirt, and cleaning areas used daily by traders, travelers, and other members of the public. At the Ogun State Health Insurance Agency in Alabata, members cleared overgrown grasses, removed unwanted materials, and helped improve the cleanliness and appearance of the facility.

One of the most beautiful parts of the day was seeing members of different ages serve together, including our Primary children in Odeda. Their participation was a wonderful reminder that service is something we learn by doing. The appreciation expressed by people in the communities also showed that even simple acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.

As we served, we were reminded of the Savior's words in Mosiah 2:17: “When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.”

We are grateful for every member, leader, healthcare professional, and community partner who contributed to making the project a success. Together, we were able to make our communities a little cleaner, healthier, and better—and, most importantly, share the love of Jesus Christ through service.

Successful Open House and Chapel Dedication Hosted by Alabata Branch

The Abeokuta Nigeria Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is pleased to report the successful completion of the Open House ceremony and chapel dedication for the newly constructed Alabata Branch facility.

On Saturday, July 4, 2026, the Open House brought together nearly 300 attendees, including local church members, community leaders, invited dignitaries, neighbors, adults, and children from across the Alabata community and surrounding areas in Odeda Local Government Area. Guests participated in guided tours of the facility, learned about Church programs, and shared in a spirit of fellowship and mutual goodwill.

Following the Open House, the formal dedication of the chapel took place the next day, Sunday, July 5, 2026. The gatherings served as a meaningful moment to strengthen community relationships, foster mutual understanding, and highlight our shared commitment to uplifting families and individuals.

We express our sincere gratitude to the traditional leaders, community representatives, security authorities, local members, and friends who attended and contributed to these sacred and memorable events. We look forward to the chapel serving as a place of worship, peace, and spiritual strength for individuals and families throughout the community for many years to come.
