There is no burden you can pour on God that He will need therapy for.

You see, um... One of my heroes is C.S. Lewis, and he explained Eros and Philia in a very profound way.

He said Eros, which is romantic love, is two people standing opposite each other, looking at each other in amazement.

But Philia is different. It's two people standing side by side, looking at an object, and then looking at each other and saying, "You too?" And the other person says, "Me too." He calls that friendship.

Now, how do we have friendship with God?

Because He's far above in Heaven, and we are dust. You know, who dash monkey?

How?

How in the world do we want to have friendship with this eternal, great, powerful, loving, perfect Being?

Jesus comes.

And Jesus' coming gives us the opportunity to qualify to have friendship with God.

And what's that friendship?

They can break your heart, you can experience betrayal, and you can look at Jesus and say, "You too?"

And He says, "Me too. I experienced it too."

You can say, "I just experienced loss."

He looks at you and says, "You too?"

And He says, "Me too. Me too."

We have that friendship.

And that friendship is what people actually call fellowship.

It's not, you know, when people hear, "Let's fellowship with God," it sounds very mechanical, like, "It's time to pray. It's time to..."

But fellowship with God means God's interests interest me, and I just want to sit with Him.

I want to talk to Him.

I want to pour out my heart.

In fact, if you understand what I'm saying, you'd understand that telling God you can't pray is already praying.

"Ah, Lord, I can't pray."

Because prayer is simply communication with God.

"God, I'm really struggling to pray. I need help praying. I need You..."

You're already praying! You're already praying!

Instead of murmuring and talking to people who will carry your gist, yeah.

You see this life: "Who likes you? Who said what about you? Who..."

So, why not just pour it out to God?

You see, there is no burden you can pour on God that He will need therapy for.

The Bible says, "The government shall be upon His shoulders."

There's a song that says, "Oh, what needless pain we bear..."

Sometimes, we carry what God is asking us to give Him.

Talk to God. Pour out your heart. He can handle it.

You cannot say you want a quantum leap, ask God to bless you, and still be thinking only about yourself.

If you want your business to be doing $1 million a month and it is all about you, God won't bless it.

But if you change your mindset and say, “I want my business to be doing $1 million every month so that I can eradicate unemployment,” God will put His hand on that business.

Because now, it is not just about you. You are helping Him become a channel through which He can answer people's prayers.

So, good things come, but people don't recognize them because they are not at peace and because they are self-centered. And if you're a non-believer and you're not self-centered, good can still come to you.

Okay, let me ask you a question.

If you were God, and a Christian had a company while Jeff Bezos had another company, and you had to protect one of those companies, which one would you choose, the Christian's company or Jeff Bezos'?

Even if he doesn't love God, there are thousands of people whose livelihoods depend on that company. By extension, think about how many families are connected to those employees. And he has more than 60,000 employees.

Do you think God doesn't care about all the people connected to that business?

Do you know how many Christians are working for him?

But we Christians often have a mindset of “me, me, me, me.”

“How can I make money?”

If you don't want to make millionaires, you can't become a millionaire.

There are some prayers that will not be answered. I don’t know how to lie to people; I can only speak the truth.

Let me give you an example of what the Lord told me, I wrote it down, and you can check for yourself.

The Lord said:

"You cannot be trusting God for a financial breakthrough while you are a womanizer."

If God gives you money while you are living like that, He isn't blessing you, He is enabling you. You are already broke and womanizing; imagine what you would do if you actually had the money!

You cannot trust God for favor in fraud. You are on the wrong mountain!

You cannot tune in to a prayer line, trusting God for the "fruit of the womb" from a man who is not your husband, just because you want to tie him down. I am speaking prophetically right now, yes, I am talking to you. That is not a blessing from God.

Listen to me: People don't have the fear of God anymore.

This is not just another prayer line where you join in and blindly shout "Amen!" Not every "amen" will be answered here. It is only "amen" according to God’s will and God’s precepts.

MARRIAGE IS A SCHOOL—AND SOME PEOPLE DIVORCE BECAUSE THEY REFUSE TO LEARN.

You are married to learn something.

Many people walk away from marriage when things become difficult because they don't understand that some difficulties are opportunities for growth.

That behavior you cannot stand in your spouse, have you ever considered that God may be using it to work something out in you?

I don't know how else to say it. That is the best way I can explain it.

When you get to that point in your marriage where things become tough and you say, “This behavior? I can't take it anymore!” pause and ask yourself:

“What is God trying to teach me through this?”

Remember where we started from.

We said that just as we are God's bride, God gives us marriage as a picture that can teach us something about our relationship with Him.

So, in your marriage, there are things you will encounter that will teach you something about your walk with God.

Think about this deeply:

Eve was brought out of Adam.

There is something profound about that.

The person you marry can expose parts of you that you didn't know were there.

Sometimes, your spouse becomes a mirror.

You may look at your spouse and say, “How can someone be this impatient?”

And God may be saying, “Look again. Why does this bother you so much? What is happening inside you?”

You say, “My husband is so stubborn!”

Or, “My wife is so difficult!”

Sometimes, the issue is not only what they are doing.

Marriage has a way of revealing you to you.

And that is why you cannot approach every marital conflict with, “How do I change my spouse?”

Sometimes the better question is:

“Lord, what are You trying to change in me?”

Marriage is not just about finding someone who makes you happy.

It is also about becoming the person God wants you to become.

Don't waste your marriage by only trying to win arguments. Learn. Grow. Mature.

Because sometimes, the person you are complaining about is revealing an area where God wants to work on you.

GOD DOESN’T JUST WANT TO LIVE IN YOU—HE WANTS TO MAKE YOUR LIFE A CONDUCIVE HOME.

If you move into a new house, the house doesn’t clean itself. Am I correct?

The house doesn’t buy furniture for itself. The person who moves into the house furnishes it according to his own taste.

That is a simple picture of what the Holy Spirit does when He comes into our lives.

When the Holy Spirit comes into you, He begins to furnish your life with the fruit of the Spirit.

Love becomes His chair.
Joy becomes His television.
Peace becomes His comfort.

I’m just trying to make it simple.

The fruit of the Spirit is what the Holy Spirit produces in us, while the gifts of the Spirit are what He works through us.

The fruit makes His dwelling in us conducive. The gifts make His presence through us beneficial to others.

And this is where many believers miss it.

You can have the gifts without developing the fruit.

You can bless people with your anointing and hurt them with your character.

You can heal somebody from physical pain and wound them emotionally.

You can prophesy accurately and still treat people terribly.

You can preach powerfully and have no patience.

You can cast out demons and still struggle to love people.

God is not only interested in what He can do THROUGH you. He is also interested in what He is producing IN you.

The gifts may announce your ministry, but the fruit reveals your maturity.

Don't become so powerful that people encounter your anointing but are wounded by your character.

Let the Holy Spirit furnish your life.

Let Him produce love.
Let Him produce joy.
Let Him produce peace.
Let Him produce patience.
Let Him produce kindness.
Let Him produce goodness.
Let Him produce faithfulness.
Let Him produce gentleness.
Let Him produce self-control.

Because it is possible to be a blessing to people through your gifts while becoming a burden to them through your character.

And God wants both your gifts and your character to reflect Him.

BEFORE YOU CAN CARRY SOMEONE’S PAIN, YOU MUST FIRST BE ABLE TO FEEL IT.

Power will not flow effectively through a heart that lacks compassion.

There are many believers who want to see the sick healed, the broken restored, and the oppressed delivered, but they have lost the ability to feel the pain of people.

If you want God to use you to heal the sick, ask yourself: How do you feel when you see sick people?

If you are not moved by the feelings of their infirmity, how can you function as a high priest to them?

The Bible says:

“For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities…”, Hebrews 4:15

You cannot carry what you cannot feel.

Especially in a place like Lagos, your heart can become so hardened that you see children knocking on your car window, hungry, and all you can say is, “Shoo!”

You may even convince yourself that their begging is not legitimate.

But think about this: even when someone's method is wrong, their pain can still be real.

We must not become so spiritual that we lose our humanity.

Look at Jesus in John 11.

Jesus knew Lazarus was going to rise again. He knew the story would not end in death.

Yet when He arrived at the tomb and saw the people mourning, Jesus wept.

Why?

If Jesus already knew He was going to raise Lazarus, why did He cry?

Because compassion responds to pain even when you already know the outcome.

Jesus did not say, “Stop crying. Don't you know I'm about to raise him?”

He entered into their pain.

He felt what they felt.

That is the heart of a High Priest.

Before you heal me, feel my pain.

Before you preach to me, feel my pain.

Before you correct me, feel my pain.

Before you tell me what I should have done differently, feel my pain.

There is a kind of power that comes from compassion.

When your heart can still break for people, you are not weak. You are becoming more like Christ.

Don't let life make you so hard that you can see suffering and feel nothing.

Ask God for a heart that can still feel.

Because sometimes, before God uses your hands to heal someone, He wants your heart to first carry their pain.

Power flows through compassion.

If you can get a girl's phone number, get a boy's attention, and convince them to date you, you can evangelize.

If you can toast, you can evangelize.

If you can sell yourself at an interview, see people lying at interview, "How many years experience?" "40 years!" And he's 34. You can preach the gospel.

If you can recommend a movie, you can share the gospel.

If you can explain your job, you can explain the gospel.

If you can tell a story, you can share your testimony.

If you can convince somebody to try a restaurant, you can invite them to church.

If you can defend your opinion in a conversation, you can defend your faith.

If you can follow up after a first date, you can follow up with a new believer.

If you can send a "Good morning, my love" text, you can send a "See you in church" text.

If you can post on social media, you can post the gospel.

If you can encourage a friend going through a hard time, you can point them to Christ.

If you can network for opportunities, you can reach out for souls.

If you can start a conversation with a stranger, you can evangelize.

If you can care about your reputation, you can care about someone's eternity.

So it means you can do it, you're not just willing.

Everything I said, I know you were laughing, but those things are monument against you that you can actually preach, you don't want to preach.

Every conversation we have about the power of God is to get us to preach the gospel. And people are not preaching the gospel again.

One day I was in a bus and travelling, maybe to Akure or something, and one guy came into the bus and was preaching, quote and unquote, the gospel.

But what he was preaching was hellfire "Hellfire is burning!", "God is going to kill...", "We're about to travel!" Why are you talking about death like this? "You will die if you don't..." I say, "Hey! Which kind problem be this?"

You know, and I was very irritated that why is he preaching the gospel like this? This is not the gospel of Jesus Christ. And the Holy Spirit told me, "At least he's doing it."

You that know the correct thing, are you doing anything? We are no more doing morning cry.

How many of us remember 5:00 AM morning cry? (singing) "You deliver Paul and Silas..." Why are we not doing it? What's going, what's happening with our generation?
