Prayer for Our Families Through the Intercession of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph

Lord God,
we come before You with grateful hearts,
asking that our families may be blessed and strengthened in Your love.
Holy Jesus, gentle and loving Savior,
teach our homes to be places of faith, kindness, forgiveness, and peace.
May we learn to love one another with patience and generosity.
Holy Mary, loving Mother,
intercede for our families.

Help us to treasure God’s presence in our homes,
to remain faithful in times of joy and hardship,
and to grow in humility, tenderness, and trust.
Saint Joseph, faithful protector and guardian,
pray for our families.

Teach us responsibility, courage, honesty, and steadfast love.
Watch over parents, children, and all who carry burdens within the home.
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, Holy Family of Nazareth,
intercede for our families,
that our homes may be modeled after your holy household
filled with prayer, unity, mutual respect, and devotion to God.

May our families become places where faith is lived,
where wounds are healed,
where love is shared freely,
and where each person grows in holiness.
Protect all families from division, fear, and hardship.
Draw us closer to one another and always closer to God.
Holy Family of Nazareth, pray for us,
that we may reflect your love in our homes each day.
Amen.

A MONTH WITH MARY — DAY 27
Mary, Vessel of Honour

The title “Mary, Vessel of Honour” reminds us that Mary lived a life completely open to God’s purpose. A vessel carries something valuable, and Mary carried the greatest treasure of all, the presence of Christ. Through her humility, faith, and obedience, she became an example of what it means to allow God to work through us.

When the angel announced God’s plan, Mary responded with trust even without knowing everything ahead. Her life teaches that honour before God is not about status or recognition, but about faithfulness, purity of heart, and willingness to say “yes” to His will.
Today’s reflection invites us to ask: What am I carrying in my heart? Are we vessels of kindness, patience, truth, and love? Like Mary, we are called to become people through whom others can experience God’s goodness.

Mary did not seek attention for herself; she pointed people toward God. In our daily lives, at school, home, work, or among friends, we too can become “vessels of honour” by speaking with love, acting honestly, helping others, and staying faithful in prayer.

Mary, Vessel of Honour, teach me to welcome God into my life with trust and humility. Help me to become a person of goodness, peace, and faith, carrying Christ in my words and actions. Amen.

Bible verse for meditation:
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” — 2 Corinthians 4:7
Have a blessed May devotion for today.

Dear Mother of Jesus, the Good Shepherd,
with trust we come before you and ask for your loving intercession on this 26th day of May Devotion.

Watch over all your daughters who are answering God’s call
in the Congregation of the Sisters of Jesus the Good Shepherd.
Guide them with your motherly care, strengthen them in faith,
and help them to follow your Son with generous and joyful hearts.

Obtain for them the grace to remain faithful in their vocation,
to serve with humility, love, and compassion,
and to be true witnesses of the Good Shepherd to all they meet.

In moments of trial, sustain them;
in times of doubt, encourage them;
and in their mission, lead them ever closer to Jesus.

Mother of the Good Shepherd,
pray for them, protect them, and accompany them always,
that their lives may glorify God and bring hope to His people.
Amen.

A Prayer for the Infilling of the Holy Spirit

Heavenly Father,
Today, we come before You with humble hearts, longing for more of Your presence. We pray for every person reading this prayer right now—may Your Holy Spirit fill them afresh.

Lord, just as You poured out Your Spirit upon the apostles in the upper room, pour out Your Spirit upon us and our families. Fill every heart with divine peace, renewed strength, wisdom, courage, and unshakable faith.

Holy Spirit, breathe new life into every weary soul. Let fear be replaced with faith, sadness with joy, confusion with clarity, and weakness with strength. Rekindle the fire of prayer, passion for God, and love for one another in our hearts.

May Your presence guide our steps, comfort us in difficult times, and empower us to live lives that glorify You. Fill our homes with peace, our minds with truth, and our hearts with Your everlasting love.

Lord, we surrender ourselves completely to You. Empty us of worry, doubt, bitterness, and anything that draws us away from You. Fill us until we overflow with kindness, wisdom, boldness, and compassion.

We pray for healing where there is pain, restoration where there is brokenness, hope where there is despair, and open doors where there seem to be none.
Holy Spirit, move mightily in our lives. Let revival begin in us, in our homes, and in our communities. May we walk daily in Your power and become vessels of Your light in this world through Chris our Lord, Amen

Type “Amen” if you receive this prayer and believe God is filling you afresh with His Spirit today.

PRAYER FOR PRIESTS THROUGH OUR LADY MOTHER OF THE PRIESTS

Blessed Virgin Mary,
Mother of Jesus Christ, the Eternal High Priest,
and loving Mother of all priests,
we come before you with trust during this month of May, dedicated to your honor.

Tender Mother, watch over priests throughout the world.
Wrap them in your mantle of protection and guide them in holiness, wisdom, and courage.

Strengthen those who are weary, comfort those who suffer, and renew the zeal of those burdened by trials.
Intercede especially for priests in this season of May devotion,
that they may grow in love for your Son,
serve faithfully in humility,
and lead souls closer to God through the sacraments and the Gospel.

Mother of Priests, pray for those who are discouraged,
protect priests facing temptation or loneliness,
bless newly ordained priests,
and grant eternal rest to those who have gone before us.
May all priests become holy shepherds after the Heart of Jesus,
faithful servants of truth, mercy, and love.
We entrust every priest in every nation to your maternal care, especially those in need of prayers today.

O Mary, Mother of Priests, pray for us and for all priests.
Amen.

Answer the Shepherd’s Call

If you feel called to dedicate your life to God in love and service, we warmly invite you to consider joining the Sisters of Jesus the Good Shepherd, a religious institute founded in Ebonyi State, Nigeria.

Inspired by Jesus the Good Shepherd, we are committed to living a life of faith, compassion, and selfless service to humanity. Through our apostolates, we seek to practically imitate Christ, the Good Shepherd, who came to serve, guide, heal, and care for all people with love. In surrendering our lives to God, we embrace a mission rooted in charity, humility, and dedication to the well-being of others.

Our Apostolates

Education
We are devoted to nurturing minds and shaping futures through quality education. Our mission in education goes beyond academics; we strive to instill moral values, discipline, faith, and character formation in children and young people, helping them grow into responsible and compassionate individuals who can positively impact society.

Healthcare
Following the healing ministry of Jesus, we provide care and support to the sick and vulnerable. Through healthcare services, we seek to bring comfort, hope, and healing to individuals and families, caring not only for physical well-being but also for emotional and spiritual needs.

Catering Services
Hospitality is an important expression of love and service. Through catering, we promote care, nourishment, and community by providing quality food services for gatherings and institutions. In serving meals, we reflect the generosity and compassion of Christ, who fed and cared for His people.

Catechesis
We are committed to spreading the Gospel and deepening the faith of God’s people through catechesis. By teaching Christian doctrine, preparing individuals for the sacraments, and guiding spiritual formation, we help people develop a deeper relationship with God and grow in the knowledge and practice of their faith.

Care for the Aged
We lovingly care for elderly persons, recognizing their dignity, wisdom, and invaluable place in society. Through companionship, support, and compassionate assistance, we aim to ensure that the aged experience love, respect, comfort, and a sense of belonging in their later years.

Our Mission
As Sisters of Jesus the Good Shepherd, we strive to imitate Christ in practical ways through these apostolates, bringing hope, compassion, and service wherever we are needed. Our lives are joyfully surrendered to God in prayer and loving service to humanity.

If you feel the Shepherd’s call in your heart, come and journey with us in faith, love, and service.

A Month with Mary – Day 14
Mary, Queen of Heaven

Today, as we celebrate the glorious feast of the Ascension of the Lord, we turn our hearts to Mary, the Queen of Heaven. After Jesus completed His mission on earth, He ascended to the Father in glory, opening the gates of heaven for all who believe in Him. Mary, His faithful mother, understood better than anyone that our true home is not here on earth, but with God.

Mary’s queenship is not about power or riches. She is Queen because she served with humility, trusted God completely, and followed Jesus to the very end. At the Ascension, while the disciples looked up toward heaven, Mary remained among them , steady in faith, encouraging them to wait for the Holy Spirit. She teaches us that even while we live on earth, our hearts should remain fixed on heaven.

The Ascension reminds us that Jesus reigns in glory, and Mary reminds us how to reach that glory: through obedience, prayer, humility, and love.

Heavenly Father,
as we celebrate the Ascension of Your Son, lift our hearts toward heaven where Christ reigns in glory. Through the intercession of Mary, Queen of Heaven, help us to live with faith, hope, and humility each day. May we follow Jesus faithfully and never lose sight of our heavenly destination. Fill us with the joy of Your promise and prepare our hearts for the coming of the Holy Spirit.
Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us.
Amen.

A MONTH WITH MARY - DAY 13

In this month dedicated to our Blessed Mother Mary, we are reminded of her total surrender to God’s will. Mary consecrated her entire life to the service of the Lord with humility, purity, obedience, and unwavering faith. From the moment she said, “Be it done unto me according to your word,” she became the perfect example of a soul completely dedicated to God.

Consecrated men and women in the religious life reflect this Marian spirit in a special way. Like Mary, they leave behind personal ambitions to follow Christ more closely. Through their vows and daily sacrifices, they become living witnesses of God’s love and presence in the world. Just as Mary carried Christ within her and brought Him to others, consecrated persons are called to carry Christ into the hearts of those they serve through prayer, charity, teaching, healing, and missionary work.

Yet even Mary’s journey was not without trials. She experienced uncertainty, suffering, sacrifice, and sorrow, but she remained faithful because her trust was rooted in God. In the same way, those consecrated to religious life need constant grace and strength to remain faithful to their vocation amid challenges and difficulties.
Today, let us look to Mary as the Mother and protector of all consecrated souls. May her example inspire them to persevere in holiness, and may her maternal intercession obtain for them the grace to remain joyful and faithful in their calling.

Let us pray for Consecrated Persons

O Blessed Virgin Mary,
Mother most pure and faithful servant of God, we come before you today to pray for all men and women consecrated to the religious life. You who gave your whole life to God with complete trust and humility, lovingly watch over all those who have answered the call to follow your Son more closely.
Mother Mary, intercede for every priest, religious sister, brother, monk, nun, missionary, and consecrated soul throughout the world. Obtain for them the grace to remain faithful to their vocation with joyful and generous hearts. When they are tired, strengthen them. When they are discouraged, comfort them. When they face trials, remind them that God’s grace is always sufficient.

Lord God Almighty,
we thank You for the gift of consecrated persons in Your Church. Through their lives of prayer, sacrifice, chastity, poverty, and obedience, they bear witness to the beauty of Your kingdom. Continue to pour out Your Holy Spirit upon them and sustain them daily in their chosen vocation.
Grant them deep love for prayer and intimacy with Christ. May they never lose sight of the reason for their calling. Fill their hearts with peace in moments of uncertainty and courage in moments of weakness. Protect them from temptation, discouragement, pride, and every distraction that seeks to draw them away from You.
Lord Jesus, Eternal High Priest,
sanctify those who have left everything to follow You. Bless the work of their hands, the words they speak, the communities they serve, and the hidden sacrifices they offer each day for the salvation of souls. May their lives continue to shine as lights in a world that longs for hope and truth.

We pray especially for those who are struggling in silence, those carrying heavy burdens, those experiencing loneliness, spiritual dryness, or fear about their vocation. Embrace them with Your mercy and renew within them the joy of their first “yes” to You.
Mother Mary, Queen of Vocations,
cover all consecrated persons with your mantle of protection. Teach them your humility, your obedience, your purity of heart, and your steadfast faith. Lead them always closer to Jesus and help them to remain faithful until the end.
Raise up many holy vocations in the Church, O Lord. Inspire young hearts to answer Your call with courage and generosity. May the witness of faithful religious men and women draw many souls closer to You.
We entrust all consecrated persons to Your loving care, Lord, trusting that the good work You began in them You will bring to completion.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
