ONLY THE BEST IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR NIGERIA!
It was indeed a sad and demoralizing experience during the 2023 Presidential and National Assembly
Elections where most ad-hoc staff of INEC did not upload or transmit election results electronically using
the BVAS machines as the Electoral Management Body in Nigeria earlier on promised. In spite of such gross irresponsibility which led to alteration of results in favor of some candidates especially in the
Presidential election, let us become more firmly resolved to stretch out our wings like eagles and fly above the wishes, plans, whims and caprices of the epitomes of corrupt leadership and bad governance.
Fellow Nigerians, we cannot complete our journey to the Promised Land without passing through the desert. We have really begun a journey to the nation of our dreams. Let's not give up no matter the obstacle we meet in the desert. In the manner of the first African American Presidential candidate in the person of Jesse Louis Jackson, I dare say: "We must never surrender. America (Nigeria) will get better
and better. Keep hope alive. On tomorrow night and beyond, keep hope alive. I love you very much".
Let's not forget that when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. Let's remain tough in our quest
and common desire for a better and more prosperous Nigerian society. In the words of Robert H. Schuller: "Tough times never last, but tough people do". By the grace of God, we will not only last more than the tough times we are passing through today but live to tell the story of a better Nigerian society and hand over such society to posterity before our departure.
It's important we recall the words of Late President Musa Yar'Adua: "Let us stop justifying every shortcoming with the unacceptable phrase, "the Nigerian factor" as if to be a Nigerian is to settle for the less". Tell me what you think and who you think Nigerians regard as the best among all presidential candidates. If INEC guidelines and the provisions of the Electoral Act were strictly adhered to, perhaps the outcome would have appeared thus: Tinubu is good, Atiku is better but Peter Obi is the best. It is unimaginable that Nigerians will see the best and begin to long for the better let alone the good.
The 2023 general elections in Nigeria is another opportunity for us to choose the best leaders and the
making of that choice continues even on Saturday, 18th March, 2023. Let's not relent but go out and choose the best among those vying for various leadership positions. Indeed, Nigeria deserves the best and only the best is good enough for us!
God bless our country, Nigeria!
