SUNDAY SERVICE
Word Ministration: Pastor Chima
Topic: Awareness of God’s Love
Scripture References: John 3:16; Romans 5:8
*The Nature of God’s Love*
God’s love is completely different from the agape love expressed by men. While human love often reflects sacrifice, God’s love goes beyond that—it is unconditional, immeasurable, and eternal. It is not based on exchange or expectation but is freely given. His love flows from His nature, not from human response.
*The Demonstration of God’s Love*
God demonstrated His love through Jesus Christ. By His death, He established a covenant like a will, and through His resurrection, He lives to uphold and oversee it. This reveals a depth of love that cannot be fully defined. Though man can be explained, God cannot be limited to definition. His love is also seen in His faithfulness—He keeps His covenant and continually helps man align with it.
*Identity in God’s Love*
Living with an awareness of God’s love requires knowing who you are, where you are, and whose you are. This consciousness shapes how you appear and function in the world. When you truly see God as your Father, you begin to understand the depth of His love for you. This identity gives you confidence and victory over fear and life’s challenges. The enemy opposes this understanding, as seen in the life of Job, because of the favor and covering that come with God’s love. God is always willing to show favor to those who belong to Him.
*Reciprocating God’s Love* – Ephesians 5:15
God is closer to you than anyone else, and responding to His love must be intentional. You become an extension of His love to others, allowing your life and actions to reflect His nature. Your character, especially in evangelism and daily interactions, should represent Him. True response to God’s love also involves generosity—giving your time, talents, and resources deliberately.
*A Key Insight*
Earthly wealth without the knowledge of God is not true wealth. True riches are rooted in relationship with Him.
*The True Measure of God’s Love*
God’s love is not measured by material possessions or outward abundance. Its true measure is found in things money cannot buy—peace, purpose, grace, and eternal life. Even long life can be an expression of His love.
Meditation
Reflect deeply: In what ways have I extended God’s love to the people around me?
