đ¨âźď¸RCCG Youth Pastor §entÂŁnced To DÂŁ !
A youth pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Akolade Arowolo, has been §entÂŁnced to d!e by h@nging for the muĎdÂŁr of his banker wife, T**ilayo.
Pastor Arowolo could not hold back his p@ins after the court ruling, he burst into a fit of prayer. T**ilayo worked with Skye bank, whilst her husband was employed.
Pro§£¢utors were able to present compelling £vidence that led to the conv!¢tion of Mr Arowolo and his §ent£ncing by Justice Lateefat Okunu of the Ikeja High Court,
He was h@nded a dÂŁ §£ntence. Justice Okunu held in her over three hours judgment that evidence before the court proved that Arowolo actually muĎderÂŁd his wife in their matrimonial home.
Testimony in the form of a forensic report from Prof. John Oladapo Obafunwa, a pathologist, was what the court used to determine that there was no way the deceased could have §t@bbed herself to d£.
Immediately after the judgment, Arowolo fell down in the dock and started shouting âJesus have mercy.â PM News reports that Prof Obafunwa testified that his aut0psy report revealed that T**ilayo was kllld through 76 kn!fe §t@b w0unds.
There were cl@ims by Pastor Arowolo, suggesting that his wife was p0ssessed and inflicted !njur!es on herself.
He noted that the kn!fe w0unds T**ilayoâs left eye, right eye, upper chest area, right chest and collar bone. Prof. Obafunwa pointed out in his testimony that the decÂŁ could not have inflicted such w0unds on herself.
To further prove its c@se, pro§£cution invited some of T**ilayoâs family members who testified that Arowolo and T**ilayo had always had a tr0ubled m@rriage.
The family members included T**ilayoâs father, George Oyakhire; sister, Ijeh and mother-in-law, Mrs Adetoun Yeside Oyakhire. The three witnesses testified that the couple lived a cat and mouse l!fe. They claimed that the family had at several times, settled serious f!ghts between the c0uple. None of the witnesses however saw what actually happened on the day T**ilayo d!ÂŁd
Arowoloâs co-tenant, Adewale Adeyemi also gave evidence in the c@se. Arowoloâs parents testified that their son was incapable of muĎder
Adeyemi in his evidence said that on the day of the incident he heard a loud noise when he was in his apartment and later saw Arowolo rushing out with a deep ¢ut in his palms. He claimed to have also seen a h@mmer and a
kn!fe with a broken handle in the yard.
Other witnesses such a the security man at the Arowolosâ residence, Investigating Police Officer and an MTN Staff also gave evidence in the c@se.
Youth PastorArowolo broke down in tears, after the judge handed him the d£ §ent£nce, he had claimed he was innocent of klllng his wife. Having presented its c@se, the burden was shifted on Arowolo to def£nd himself.
Expectedly, Arowolo had his personal explanation as to what happened on the day T**ilayo d!ÂŁd. First, he claimed that he and his decÂŁased wife had passionate sÂŁx for two hours and kissed on the same day she d!ÂŁd.
He claimed that T**i §t@bbed herself to dÂŁ on the day after they had a f!ght. Arowolo claimed that T**ilayo was p0ssessed by an ÂŁv!l sp!rit and inflicted several §t@b w0unds on him before turning to herself. Arowoloâs father, Mudashiru and mother also testified of their sonâs good behavior, insisting he could not have klll his wife.
They claimed that he has always been a religious person and was incapable of kllngâď¸
