MESSAGE SUMMARY
TOPIC: WHY SHOULD WE THANK GOD

Luke 17:
🌿11. Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.
🌿12. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance
🌿13. and called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us!"
🌿14. When he saw them, he said, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were cleansed.
🌿15. One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice.
🌿16. He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.

Today I'd like us to know that thanksgiving is an important ingredient of our walk with God.
Our first text went into the story of Jesus and the l***rs. After the last l***r came to thank the Lord, what was His response?
Where are the other 9? meaning that He expected all 10 of them to return with thanks.

As children of God, thanks giving is important in your christian walk with God.
Even as we try to abide by the tenets of God, we must also be careful to set out time In which we give God thanks for all He's done for us.
We must thank God because;

📍 He delivers us from different battles. Those we are aware of and those we are unaware of.

📍 If God were to Judge us by our righteousness, we would never stand. Yet He is merciful to us

📍You are living by the grace of God. The righteousness of man is like a filthy rag before God.

✍️The Lord has redeemed you from destruction both in times you are aware and unaware.

Think about the countless prayers the Lord has answered, or the times He delivered you from troubles. Think about all the protection both in your life and in that of your loved ones.
There were tight situations the Lord delivered us from. The Lord is truly merciful and should be thanked.

✍️Dont just spend all your time with God asking Him to do this and that. Take out time to just thank God for all He's done for you, then you would be made whole.

TOPIC: BELIEVING GOD ABOVE THE PHYSICAL REALM

Text: 1 Corinthians 15: 19. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.

Men who served God beyond the physical Realm.
✍️ Jesus Christ; who at the time of his final prayers in the garden of Gethsemane, asked God that the cup be passed over his head.
In the end, he accepted to do the will of God despite the fact that he was afraid of death.

🌿 Matthew 26: 42. He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done."

✍️ Abraham who served God even in his childlessness.

✍️Job who stuck to God even when things were bad for him
Job 2:
🌿9. His wife said to him, "Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!"
🌿10. He replied, "You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?" In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.

The Scriptures tells us that there is a time for everything including good and bad seasons. These scriptures however encourages us to be steadfast to our faith irrespective of the seasons.

We are to serve God for who he is and not based off how things are going for us at the moment.

✍️In times of joy and in times of sorrow, God is till God and He should be served for who He is.

TOPIC: GOD CONSCIOUSNESS

Text: Romans 1: 28. Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.

✍️ What is consciousness? God consciousness is the act of dwelling in the presence of God everyday, every time. It is that spiritual alertness in which you cannot make a decision without first involving God.

John 2:
🌿15. So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. 🌿16. To those who sold doves he said, "Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father's house into a market!"
🌿17. His disciples remembered that it is written: "Zeal for your house will consume me."

How do you know people who are God conscious.
📍Their hunger for God:
Psalm 42:
🌿1. As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.
🌿2. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?

📍They are led by the spirit of God;
🌿 Romans 8: 14. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.

📍He or she is always eager to be in God's presence;
🌿 Hebrews 10: 25. not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

📍They don't concentrate of outer beauty;
1 Peter 3:
🌿1. Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives,
🌿2. when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.
🌿3. Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.
🌿4. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.

TOPIC: THE GIFT OF MEN

✍️ Men are important in your Life journey. From the time you are born till the time you die, men are needed in your lives.

Looking into the Life of Jesus Christ, after he had fasted and had been tempted by the devil, he began his ministry by seeking out men.

Before the outset of Jesus' ministry, John was sent before him to prepare the way.

Matthew 3: 1. In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea

If Jesus needed men, disciples in his journey of Life, so do you.

Today we would look into some Scriptural passages showing us the different gifts of men

📍 Moses and Aaron;
Exodus 4:
🌿10. Moses said to the Lord, "Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue."
🌿11. The Lord said to him, "Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord?
🌿12. Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say."
🌿13. But Moses said, "Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else."
🌿14. Then the Lord's anger burned against Moses and he said, "What about your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well. He is already on his way to meet you, and he will be glad to see you.

📍 David and Jonathan 1sam30:11-16
1 Samuel 30:
🌿11. They found an Egyptian in a field and brought him to David. They gave him water to drink and food to eat—
🌿12. part of a cake of pressed figs and two cakes of raisins. He ate and was revived, for he had not eaten any food or drunk any water for three days and three nights.
🌿13. David asked him, "Who do you belong to? Where do you come from?" He said, "I am an Egyptian, the slave of an Amalekite. My master abandoned me when I became ill three days ago.
🌿14. We raided the Negev of the Kerethites, some territory belonging to Judah and the Negev of Caleb. And we burned Ziklag."
🌿15. David asked him, "Can you lead me down to this raiding party?" He answered, "Swear to me before God that you will not kill me or hand me over to my master, and I will take you down to them."
🌿16. He led David down, and there they were, scattered over the countryside, eating, drinking and reveling because of the great amount of plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from Judah.

🌿 Jeremiah 3: 15. Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding.

It is not you but God who chooses Pastors over you who would teach you knowledge and understanding.

🌿2 Chronicles 20: 20. Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, "Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful."

📍Samuel
🌿 1Samuel 3:1-10.
For Samuel's ministry to begin, he needed man, Eli who counselled him on how to respond when the voice of the Lord called out to him.

No man is an island. We all need people to get through life. You do not know who your gift of man is, Learn to show kindness to those around you no matter who he is and be of help to others.

TOPIC: GIVING

✍️ Giving has to do with your ability to give what belongs to you to another.
Love is the driving force of giving. Giving doesn't mean that you have what you give out in excess, no wonder God Gave up His only Son, showing He didn't have sons in excess.

📍 11 points about giving.
📌Giving to God(Gen 4:1-7):
Here God accepted Abel's gift but rejected that of Cain. Didn't both men give, however only that of Abel was accepted. When you give to God, you give out of reverence.

Mark 12:
🌿41. Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts.
🌿42. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.
🌿43. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others.
🌿44. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on."

📌Ever Christian giving must be free will.
🌿2 Corinthians 9: 7. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

📌You will reap where you sow.
🌿2 Corinthians 9: 6. Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

📌Giving to God's servants.
Matthew 10:
🌿41. Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person's reward.
🌿42. And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward."

🌿 Galatians 6: 6. Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor.

🌿1 Corinthians 9: 11. If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you?

📌Giving to the poor and needy
🌿 Proverbs 19: 17. Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done

🌿 Isaiah 58: 10. and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.

SERMON SUMMARY
TOPIC: TEN (10) PERSONS YOU MUST AVOID PART 1.
A believer must be very careful. Believers are not ordinary people. A lot of believers don't really understand whom they are.
You are not to quarrel with these people, just avoid them so that your Christian Journey will go smoothly .
1. Sinners - Psalm 1:1. 1Cor. 15:33.
Every believer who associates intimately with unbelievers will have his/her garment soiled. Pls avoid close association with sinners.
2. Lazy people - Prov. 6:1-14 . Please avoid lazy people. If you cannot work, do not eat. Look at the Ants, always hard working, parking and storing food.
3. People that give excuses. 2Tim.2:1-3. People that are alwaying giving excuses are not faithful people. Do not entrust serious things to them.
4. People that cannot take corrections 1Sam.15:19-24. Saul in the story above apologized immediately. Some persons can not apologize, they cannot take corrections. Avoid such people.
5. People that cannot obey/ wait for spiritual authorities. 1Sam. 13: 8-14. Saul went ahead to sacrifice cos Samuel delayed in coming. Samuel called him foolish. Be careful to obey and wait for spiritual authorities. Rom. 13:1. Obey instituted authorities.

MESSAGE SUMMARY
TOPIC: ACTIVATION OF THE HOLY GHOST

✍️ One of the most powerful forces on earth🌍 is the force of the Holy Ghost.
The Holy Spirit is the courier service of God's word which brings God's word into manifestation.

If the Holy Spirit comes on you, your life would be transformed. It activates us to take our work.

🌿Acts 1: 8. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Today's message tells us that Holy Spirit, would empower us to the ends of the earth when it activates us.
We however, have to be prepared for the Holy Spirit to use us to go far

📍HOW TO PREPARE TO GO FAR
If you are going far,

📌 Subject yourself to training.
🌿 Daniel 1: 1. In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it.

📌You must be purified.
The book of Esther tells is about the purification that Esther went through as one of the selected maidens. To go far, you have to be free from hindrances related to that area you are interested in. Sit down an focus on improving and not distractions.

📌You must develop your talents
If you must go far, you have to develop your talents by practice.

📌You must say NO! to Lust;
Joseph had a great future which he saw in dreams from childhood. He however came into a crossroad concerning issue with the temptations of Lust. Because he refused to fall, he achieved his great future.
Lust can reduce a man into a crumb of bread. Say no to Lust.

📌You must be diligent;
Diligence requires discipline.
🌿Proverbs 22: 29.
Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before officials of low rank.

We need believers who would inculcate diligence even more than unbelievers.

📌Following those who have gone ahead of you.
🌿Hebrews 6: 12. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

📌You prepare by association
Proverbs 27: 17. As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

We are like tools in the hand of the creator with different purposes to serve. When you take time to prepare yourself, you would be a more efficient tool in the Hands of God.

TOPIC: THE DANGERS OF IGNORANCE

TEXT OF THE DAY,
Luke 15:
🌿11. Jesus continued: "There was a man who had two sons.
🌿12. The younger one said to his father, 'Father, give me my share of the estate.' So he divided his property between them.
🌿13. "Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living.
🌿14. After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need.
🌿15. So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs.
🌿16. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.
🌿17. "When he came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!

✍️Based of the story above, we see that the number 1 danger of ignorance is that you would not be aware of your inheritance.

✍️Destruction.Hosea 4: 6. my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. "Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.

✍️When you walk in ignorance, you walk in condemnation.
Romans 8: 1. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

✍️ You live in curses

✍️ You would not be approved before God
🌿 2 Timothy 2: 15. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

📍For many of us, we have been destined for greatness and to attain higher levels in life. Our lack of knowledge however, makes us unable to see the truth about our lives.

when we are unable to see the truth about the nature of our situations, we wouldn't know how to tackle the situations

📍 10 Significance of the death and Resurrection of Christ.

✍️Christ died:

Hebrews 9: 14. How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

Christ took up the death which we all deserve due to our sins. By believing in Christ and the fact that He died for our sins, God indeed let's Christ death on the cross take responsibility for our sins.
If we refuse to believe in Christ's death, we take responsibility for our sins.

✍️ The Veil tore apart:

🌿Matthew 27: 51. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split

✍️ Graves opened

🌿Matthew 27: 52. and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life.

✍️Gentiles believed because of what they saw .
If gentiles who did not believe in Jesus at the time believed. How much more we of today

🌿Matthew 27: 54. When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, "Surely he was the Son of God!"

✍️A volunteer asked for His body.
🌿 Matthew 27:
57. As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus.
58. Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus' body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him.
59. Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
60. and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away.
61. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there opposite the tomb.

As you celebrate the death of Jesus Christ, what have you volunteered for the body of Christ.

✍️The Resurrection:
After His death, the resurrected and presented himself to His disciples before He ascended to His father

✍️Jesus visits you when you are hungry.

8. So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
9. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.
10. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."

Jesus had instructed that He would reveal Himself to His disciples on His resurrection. Because of the hunger of the women for Jesus, He had to first present Himself to them.

✍️The lie about His Resurrection
Even on His resurrection, the chief priests paid the guards to lie about His resurrection.

✍️ The worship Matthew 28:16-17
Do you worship Jesus as King in your life? or does your lifestyle speak otherwise.

✍️The Great commission
Matthew 28:
🌿18. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
🌿19. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
🌿20. and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

We have all been given a mandate to make disciples of all nations. So far what are you doing about this mandate

In this period we remember and celebrate the resurrection of the king who is our source of salvation. Today we celebrate Him for His marvelous work in our lives.

TOPIC: DIMENSIONS OF POWER PART -2

✍️ In order to actualize your call in life, your need power

🔥Acts 1: 8. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

📍FINANCIAL POWER:
To have access to the resources on earth🌍, you need to have money. To eat, do ministry, to survive.
Let's see what the Scriptures say about the ability to make wealth.

🌿Deuteronomy 8: 18. But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

That is to say, God gives wealth

📍SOCIAL POWER:
This is the ability to pull people

🌿Matthew 4: 25. Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.

what is the capacity of your social influence.
How many people can you influence?

🌿Luke 9: 11. but the crowds learned about it and followed him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing.

📍POLITICAL POWER:
Is a very important force on earth

🌿Isaiah 9:
6. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.

Also written in the scriptures
Luke 1:
31. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.
32. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,
33. and he will reign over Jacob's descendants forever; his kingdom will never end."

📍INTELLECTUAL POWER:
2 Timothy 2: 15. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

When you have shown yourself to be more intellectual than others, others would tend to look up to you and respect you, giving you influence over them

As Children of God, we've been given the authority over earth. Let's work towards attaining these dimensions of power so that we truly would be able to actualize that which God has given us.

Next sunday we would dive into the other powers and understand how we can grow in power as Christians
