PENTECOSTAL SERVICE

Speaker🔊:Pastor K.U. Noah (PhD)

*Topic:* Mid-Year Spiritual Check-Up
*Text:* Lamentations 3:40-41, Mark 11:12-14, Haggai 1:5

SERVICE HIGHLIGHTS & EXHORTATION

Beloved brethren, as we stand at the midpoint of the year, the question before us is: _What have you achieved in the last 6 months?_

Just as medical personnel advise us to go for routine health checkups to detect physical issues early, there is one vital area we often neglect — our spiritual health.

A Godly spiritual assessment helps us know whether we are truly walking with Him, or merely going through the motions. As you examine your life, pay close attention to the condition of your heart, for out of the heart flow all issues of life. Your heart houses both noble and corrupt thoughts, and what you become begins there.

The areas of your heart you must guard diligently include: pride, humility, bitterness, worldliness, sincere love, and jealousy. Ask yourself honestly: which of these is ruling your heart today? Psalm 139:23-24 reminds us to pray, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my thoughts, and see if there be any wicked way in me.”

KEY POINTS FROM THE MESSAGE:

1. Evaluate Your Fruitfulness:
God expects growth and fruitfulness from His children. We are called to bear the fruit of the Spirit as listed in Galatians 5:22-23. In Mark 11:12-14, Jesus approached a fig tree expecting fruit and found none, so He cursed it. Brethren, do not let the hope and expectation God has for your life be misplaced. Let your life bear fruit that glorifies Him.

2. Assess Your Stewardship in Christ:

Stewardship is owning responsibility for things that ultimately belong to God. It is recognizing what He has entrusted to you — your time, talents, gifts, and resources — and managing them faithfully and wisely for His glory.

3. Make Necessary Adjustment:
Haggai 1:5 says, “Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.” This is a call to self-examination. Stand firm in Christ, reconcile with Him and with others, make peace, and return to the Word of God. Adjust anything that is out of alignment with His will.

4. Press Forward Into the Next Month
Like Paul in Philippians 3:13-14, we must forget what lies behind and press toward the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus. The remaining months of 2026 are still full of purpose. Don’t be stuck in past failures or successes — move forward.

CONCLUSION:
As believers, let us commit to regular spiritual checkups. They keep us aligned, fruitful, and ready for what God has ahead. God is faithful, and He is ready to give us grace to finish this year strong and victoriously.

May the Lord bless you as you reflect and reposition.

MEMORY VERSE: Hosea 4:1, "for the Lord has controversy with the inhabitants of the land,because there is no truth,nor mercy,nor knowledge of God in the land. "

INTRODUCTION
The consequences of sin in the society reveal the truth that our choices both personal and collective have a public dimension. Our individual behavior shapes the world we all live.

Biblical examples of the effects of sin on the society were highlighted ;

The sin of S***m and Gomorrah, the Israelites idolatry and worship of the golden calf,the corruption and injustices in Israelites society, the violence and bloodshed in the world before the flood led to God's judgement and destruction and the immorality and adultery in Israelites.
These biblical examples illustrate the far reaching consequences of sin in the society and it also emphasizes on the importance of living according to God's principles and seeking forgiveness and restoration when sin occurs.

Consequences of sins in our society
* spiritual separation.
* increased crime rates.
* social unrest.

SUNDAY SERVICE HIGHLIGHT FOR SUNDAY 31ST MAY, 2026 AT OKU ABAK ASSEMBLY

Preacher: Elder Cletus. A. Etukudoh
Topic: Change, for I Have Heard Your Story
Main Text: Romans 12:2-3

Caption: Everyone has a story. What kind of story is being told about you?

Sermon Summary:
Elder Adrian encouraged the congregation not to be conformed to the patterns of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds through God’s Word. He reminded us that attitude matters—our character can either open doors to God’s blessings or block them. If there are areas of bad attitude in our lives, this is the time to change. _1 John 2:15-17

He further charged believers to be doers of the Word and not conform to worldly standards. However, for those already walking on the path of righteousness, the charge is not to change from it, but to remain steadfast.

How do we leave the things of the world?
1. Have the fear of God– Psalm 128:1
2. Read and study the Scriptures daily
3. Live according to God’s Word– there is always a reward for obedience. Psalm 41:1-4

May the Lord help us to live lives that reflect Christ, so that our story will glorify Him alone.

JOIN US NEXT SUNDAY!
Come fellowship with us as we continue to grow in God’s Word. Bring a friend, and let your story be transformed by Christ.
